The Last Royal Luna
(Book 2) – Chapter 2

That is it. I am at my limit. I stand up and leave the table. I don’t know where I am going but I am pissed at all of them. Melissa wasn’t at fault since she wanted to say something but I squeezed her hand and shook my head no. The other guys though could of linked me something or defended me.

‘Ryder where are you doing? You shouldn’t be alone?’ Asher linked me.

‘So like who you all made me feel when no one stood up to the twins or linked me in on whatever plan you fools have?’ I can feel Blue vibrating from anger. She needs to be let out but we are in the middle of town.

‘Its not like that. It is to protect you.’ Asher argues.

‘If it was to protect me you would of all discussed it with me but instead you were too afraid of what I would say so you knew the reasoning behind it was bullshit.Piss off. You are all assholes. I would never not claim you or I would tell you what was going on instead of blind siding you. I expected better.’ Blue blocks anymore links and we walk into town.

I ended up at a small river just watching the fish swim and thinking. I cant come up with why they would hide me as their mate. If it is because of my heritage they could of just skipped that part. It is because they were promised to some else? Were they regretting it? I might be regretting it at this point. Boys are stupid.

“They are looking everywhere for you.” Charles sneaks up on me and jumps over the bench to sit by me. I jumped about ten feet I feel like.

I growled at him before huffing. “I am getting you a damn bell and collar to wear for when we are going to be around you!”

He chuckled before replying. He kept his eyes on the moving water seeming to be in deep thought. “I don’t know why they kept that you are their mate from me. I already knew who you are from the scent you give off. I knew your parents and I actually met you the day after you were born. You turned out just like they had hoped.” He looked over at me with a tear falling down his cheek.

“You knew my parents? How do you know they would be happy how I turned out? I have 5 mates all who are on my s**t list, I am not the best at hand to hand combat but try, I have taken down two Alpha’s but only as my wolf, and sometimes I wonder if I should even care to be a royal with all the hurt around us.” I felt regret saying that last part but it was the truth. I didn’t feel worthy and sometimes I just wanted to be a normal teenage wolf with one mate and a clear path in life that didn’t turn me into a killer.

“I can tell you are strong by you putting up with those guys. Your father would of read them a list of rules before they had a chance to look your way and challenged them to fights constantly to prove they could keep you safe.” He looked at me and held my hands in his lap. “They wanted you to be save, loved, and caring of others. I have heard the stories of the other alphas and what you have done for those two packs. You are exactly who they wanted you to be so be proud of yourself.”

Before I could reply I flinched in pain from the guys pushing harder to get through the link. I opened it up but silenced them. ‘I am talking with Charles since none of you thought me worthy to mention who I was and what I was to you. He already knew so you crushing my heart was pointless. I will return shortly. Piss off until then.’

“Your mates finally get through?” I nodded at him. “I discussed somethings with them but I have something for you and a favor to ask.” He pulls out a big envelope from his pocket and hands it to me. It has my name on it and seems to be full enough to be bursting the seams.

“What is in it?”

“That I do not know. I promised I wouldn’t look and I haven’t. I have kept it safe for you like I promised your mother. Now I am asking you keep me and my clan safe until we can attack and win the war.”

I look at the envelope and look at him. “How many are in your clan and what would be the best way to keep you all safe? You’re the first vampire I have actually talked to and not been aiming to kill.” I open the top of the envelope for a peek and see some pictures along with a letter. I close it softly and put it in my purse. I will look at it all better once we are settled at Rock Haven Pack.

“There is about fourteen of us in total. I was thinking the best way would to be splitting us up a bit so we are harder targets to replace.” He turned back toward the river to think some more on the problem.

“Well we could send a few back to be between the town and the pack we just came from. Maybe like five of them and the pack that Alistair was from was mostly taken out by vampires and witches before they joined my current pack so probably a few there to stay. Technically it is my land so maybe like five or six there since no wolves are there so no one will think to look there. That leaves a few but there is a coven here that Melissa knows a bit about so maybe she can ask them and I can talk to this pack to see what they say. I would need to meet the rest of your clan to make sure my spidey senses don’t go off.”

“Sounds good. Let’s get you back to your mates before they eat me for a snack.” He actually giggled at that like a teenage girl.

On the walk back I linked the Alistair to let him know we were headed back. He thanked me and told me I was on douchebag duty because he was sick of their whiney asses. It made my day. Charles and I decided to meet in a few days with his whole clan so we could size each other up. I really wanted to know if they had mates or something like a mate, how old he was, how did he end relationships with humans or other supernatural’s since he didn’t age, how he knew Jared, and so much more but I figured I would give him a break before getting to know how nosy and crazy I was. He was ready to help us fight the war even against his own kind so I would keep my mouth shut for now.
