The Lycan’s Rejected Mate -
Chapter 185
Caliana's
POV
"Well and good, I just don't see why I was dragged into your program of going to a restaurant," I said sharply, angry that I couldn't have a bite of my tasty salad.
"You couldn't make my food, the least you can do is watch me eat, wife," He emphasized the word wife.
"I don't know how to make what you wanted,"
"Hmm, you can't make anything!" I wanted to retort but he stopped the car and my gaze traveled around the area we were in.
"The dockyards?" I murmured, opening the door.
"There is a couple who make the best Garlic butter shrimp here," He told me and I frowned. The harbor was quiet at this time of the night. It felt peaceful and I wanted to run to the beach but stopped myself. "I didn't know they were adequate restaurants here," I frowned.
"Expensive taste?"
"Nope, I thought you did. You're the wealthy Alpha here,"
He circled his arm around my waist as we went to a restaurant. It had a beautiful lantern path along the stairs and was situated in a place where we could see the ocean. It was simple but classy.
"I used to come here a lot,"
He opened the glass door for me and I entered. A bell rang to indicate that there was a new customer and a man in his fifties walked out to the restaurant, he smiled when he spotted the Alpha and rushed to us, bowing. "Alpha!" He cheered, clearly happy to see him.
"Jonah, long time no see, how have you been?" Alpha Edward asked. The two exchanged pleasantries, and Jonah turned to me with the friendliest smile.
"And is this beautiful woman, Luna Caliana?" He asked, Edward, nodded. I extended my hand to him
"Hello, Mr. Jonah," I smiled. The old man grabbed both my hands and kissed them.
"Call me, Jonah. I'm delighted to meet you, Luna, and most happy that this pup finally brought you to my restaurant,"
He spoke about the Alpha so fondly and it surprised me but made me happy.
"Sara! Sara, come see who has graced us tonight!" Jonah called, a woman walked out and extended her hands to the Alpha, they embraced and the couple directed us to a booth in the corner. I was satisfied to see how pleased they are that we came. "Jonah, can I have your delicious Butter shrimp," The Alpha asked and Jonah nodded eagerly
"I'll make it just how you like it. And you, Luna Caliana," Sara asked. I was browsing through the menu when the Alpha Edward ordered for me,
"She likes a simple salad," I glared at him, and the couple looked between us.
"Um... Okay but we have this new seafood casserole that comes-"
"She just wants an easy salad, that's what she can make too," I gasped, how petty was he?
"Are you being serious Alpha?" I said.
"You did say you wanted to eat a salad tonight so why do you want to change?" He asked,
"Well, we didn't have many options at home and now we do," I hissed, still keeping a smile on my face for the nice couple who were watching us confused. "I will have the sea casserole, please," I said politely to Sara.
"I vividly told you to search on the internet how to make the garlic butter shrimp but you were adamant about feeding me vegetables,"
"A healthy scrumptious Salad," I barked.
"Well, I didn't want that,"
"It happened thirty minutes ago, get over it please!" I exclaimed, frustrated with this bickering over a salad.
"We'll have that,"
Jonah and Sara giggled awkwardly and were more than happy to go back to the kitchen. I sighed.
"You and the couple seem to get along well, have you known them for a long time?" I asked, Alpha Edward, nodded with a small smile on his lips.
"I've known them since birth. Sara was my mother's assistant and Jonah worked at the manor as a guard, they retired soon after my mother's passing and opened this restaurant," He informed me.
The Alpha and I spoke of everything, and I realized it was the first time we were having a normal conversation that didn't regard the pack. He told me bits about his childhood with Jonah, how he made him do exciting things and all the pranks he played on him. I found myself smiling. Soon our food was served and we ate all of it and asked for more. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I started eating. For dessert, they brought us mini Oreo cheesecakes, Alpha Edward's favorite. I didn't want to have any at first but he fed me a forkful of it before I could refuse. I moaned as I pulled the plate closer to me.
"This is delicious!" I beamed with a mouth full, he nodded and ate his piece as well. The constant clicking sound made me alert and I turned to Jonah, he was taking pictures of us with his camera.
"You look so good together, honey come and see," Sara rushed out and smiled as she looked at the pictures.
"Honey, we should hang them by their booth wall," She suggested and her husband agreed.
"Can we take more where you are not bickering or stuffing that cake like you're competing and please seat closely," He said. Alpha and I stared at each other, we didn't even realize we were acting like a couple until now, it was like we were other people! "Hurry, and this is good for our business," I stood up and sat next to the Alpha, he put his hand over my shoulder and smiled. Jonah took the pictures, and the other, Edward kissed me.
"You're such a lovely couple, you know," Sara beamed. We stayed a few more minutes and thanked Jonah and Sara for their kind hospitality.
Alpha Edward pulled out his wallet to pay but they refused
"We can't eat all that for free," I interrupted and my mate nodded in agreement.
"No we are not taking your money and just having you brings us immense amusement," Sara said.
"Okay, can we help you clean up,"
'I've never cleaned before, The Alpha mind linked me.
'Well, you will,' I retorted.
Lucky for the Alpha, they refused and we finally went back home. Reaching the manor, we each went our separate ways to our rooms. The coldness and sadness were back and I sat against the door for a long time before I decided to go back to the shower.
