POV

"Repeat what you said," I asked.

"Love Jane Chasia is my niece, she is my late sister's daughter; Jane Anne Henderson," He said and everything in my mind went into a frenzy. Jane Anne is Henderson's sister? How did she replace herself in the Chasia home? As I can recall, their bad blood started ten years ago when Alpha Edward killed the former Alpha of the Black Stone Pack during a battle, the man challenged my mate and he lost.

"I didn't know,"

"She doesn't know either. The last time I was close to her was three years ago, my mother kidnapped her and the last time I set my eyes on her was when she was on a school trip to a nearby waterfall, she didn't recognize me," He said, I sensed hurt in his tone. "Why don't you visit her, is it because you and the Chasias are enemies?"

"Caliana, do you know how Jane Anne died?" He asked and I shook my head negatively.

"The douchebag Alpha watched as rogues tore my sister apart after learning about her identity," He growled, his hands silently shaking. All this information was shocking to me.

"I know he's not the best man out there but he'd never do that to the mother of his child," I trembled. Maybe they were attacked and he was overwhelmed, it must have hurt him. "You make it sound like it's his fault," I breathed.

"It was, he watched and didn't a finger as they tore her apart mercilessly,"

"He- he loves his daughter so much to do that," I stuttered.

"Then you don't know who Edward Chasia is, he not only killed her but my best friend, and over twenty members of my pack," He gritted his teeth.

"Why would he do that?"

"Because she was a Henderson, he found out that she lied to him," He said.

"None of it makes sense, why did he kill your members then?"

"They were on the borders we share when rogues attacked my sister, they tried to save her but the Alpha killed them," He growled.

I froze, unable to utter a single word, I didn't want to seem horrified or scared but I was. Alpha Edward killed so many innocent people because of that, what would happen to my poor pack if I angered him? I've been pushing my luck thus far. "I'm sorry about your sister and pack," I said, finally replaceing the words. He was following me around in hopes he'd use me against Edward but he can't succeed because the Alpha didn't care if I lived or died.

"What was Jane Anne like?" He was stunned by my interest but smiled

"She was a beautiful woman but wasn't the smartest," He chuckled at the last part

"She loved expensive shoes and bags, if it wasn't expensive then it's not good quality according to her,"

"Oh," Is that why Alpha Edward says women liked such things? I'm sure he spoiled Jane Anne with material things.

"She was so happy to be with Edward, he'd spoil her with lavish gifts and trips, but all that changed when he found out about her,"

"Why did she lie to him?" I murmured.

"I don't know, I was away from home for years and only came back when I heard the news of my sister's death," He seemed to be in turmoil about it. We stayed silent for a while before I spoke.

"So are you going to kill me, Alpha Henderson?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Dean, my first name is Dean, and I'm still on the fence about it," He said, looking at me. I exhaled and stood up.

"Well, give me a warning before you do and for now, I'll leave," I said. He stood up and guided me carefully out of the boulders, he caressed my cheek when we were about to go our separate way and kissed it gently. I couldn't help but smile. "I'll see you, Cali,"

"Oh, I'm making it that far?" I joked, and he pointed his index finger at me, shaking his head with a smile on his lips.

"Bye, Dean," With that, I took off.

The next two days were awkward for me, I couldn't look at the Alpha, especially after I confessed that I wanted to be with him as a couple and found out the atrocious things he did to that poor woman and her pack.

'We need to leave, Liana,'

'Oh, god, Cali! I like it here,' She groaned,

'We are dealing with a man who killed his lover, Luna, and the mother of his child simply because she lied,' I recalled. 'We didn't lie,'

'What if I speak out of tongue and he snaps my neck? I don't want to die, I haven't even lived,'

'Lately, that tongue of yours is as sharp as a knife and you're still alive,' She barked, getting frustrated with my panic.

How could I not stress after replaceing out what he did? I heard footsteps and turned my neck to see who entered the salon, it was the Alpha, a small cry left my lips when I saw blood on his clothes, and he narrowed his gaze at me and backed away. "We went hunting, that explains the blood on our clothes?" He said unsure. Marcus next to him shook his head and approached me but I backed away.

"Human hunting? And please don't come close to me, Marcus," I squeaked.

"You're acting strange, Caliana, and I'm reaching for the liquor bottle," He said, I chuckled nervously and turned to leave, reaching my room, I locked the door and collapsed on the bed.

'These are the same people you lived with for months, now you're scared of them?' My wolf scoffed.

"That was before I knew what I know now," I retorted, blocking her out.

The following days were longer and I dodged the brothers, they were beginning to notice it now, and even Garret was giving me a skeptical look, asking why I'm being strange.

I changed out of my work clothes and took a long time in the shower. I was deliberately delaying in hopes they would finish eating dinner but I was wrong, they all waited for me to start. I saluted everyone and kissed Love before sitting down. "Cali, are you alright?" Jamal asked, I nodded and stuffed my mouth with broccoli so I wouldn't use my words.

"She found out something she wasn't ready for, that's why she's frightened of us," The Alpha spoke. At this point, I was almost choking.

"What is that?"

"She's been asking about you know who and someone might have wavered and told her the rumors flying around now she thinks she'll have the same fate if she offends any of us," Alpha Edward was sure of this. Realization dawned on their faces and they chuckled. I ignored them and continued to eat, hoping and wishing the earth would open up and swallow me.

"Are you scared of us?" Asked Marcos, delighted.

"Tell us, what did they tell you happened to her, that we fed her to the lions? Wolves or sharks this time, that we go around killing people because they lie about their identity?" Marcus mused.

"Don't believe everything you hear Caliana, they are just rumors," Jamal said.

"Don't lie to her, brother," Alpha Edward said. I felt tears well in my eyes and I glared at him, how can he replace this amusing? He watched as rogues violently killed the mother of his child and killed people as retribution for a simple lie. My lips were quivering and I stood up.

"Excuse me," I said politely and left the table. I went out for some fresh air in the garden next to the pond but I didn't expect him to follow me.
