POV

The next morning Love and I went down for breakfast, the Alpha wasn't there and I let out a sigh. We silently ate breakfast and I took the little princess to school. After that, I went to the border but I was surprised to see Jamal there, he was deep in thought. "Beta," I called when I got out of the car, he immediately put on a gentle smile on his lips and kissed my cheek.

"What are you doing here?" He asked,

"I was going to see the strays but I thought against it,"

"Why?"

"I wanted them to get ready to be moved into the pack but I thought it best if I talked to Alpha Edward first,"

Jamal slowly nodded and gave me a knowing look. Does he know what happened last night? Of course, he's not only better but a close friend as well. I felt the need to explain myself to him.

"Jamal, I didn't mean to hurt the Alpha, I acted on impulse," I said, facing the ground. He took a step closer and touched my hair once

"I know, you were hurting and wanted to hurt him too," He said kindly, the way he was so composed in everything was admirable, I'd never even seen him mad before." Edward has been hurt a lot by Jane Anne, you see she was promiscuous and crazy," He told me, I didn't know that she was a promiscuous woman, knowing how possessive the Alpha is, he could easily lose his temper and kill her. Was it the reason? No, there should be more.

"What did she really do to enrage him," I asked, he sighed and before he could speak, the captain walked to us. He bowed to us, and Jamal excused himself to talk to him. He was still busy so I went back to the house. I locked myself in my room the rest of the day, thinking about what Jamal told me, Jane Anne used to fraternize with other men.

So it's not all Alpha Edward's fault, more happened that I'm not aware of. I was suddenly feeling so bad for kissing Dean. I clutched my chest and took deep breaths.

My wolf stirred in my mind and I shifted my gaze to the door, the Alpha's suite door opened and closed. He was back.

I stood up and got out of the room, I refused to live in fear of him in the same house and I can't always hide under Love.

I knocked on his door but there was no answer so I pushed it open. He wasn't in the salon or bedroom either so I went to the balcony, he was there, sitting on the ground with his back against the wall as he drank a strong kind of liquor. He peered up at me and narrowed his gaze past me, was he looking for someone?

"Not hiding behind a five-year-old tonight?" He growled, I kept my distance and said

"I wanted you to calm down before you did anything that you'd regret,"

He chuckled darkly.

"You don't know me then, I hardly regret anything I do," He snarled, I was pondering on his words, he didn't regret a thing he did. He wouldn't regret killing me? He f*****g didn't even regret killing his first Luna.

'A promiscuous woman!' My wolf, Liana, added and I immediately shut her out.

"Oh I see," I could taste the bitterness in my words. It pained me to hear those words.

"Why are you here, Caliana," He sounded heartbroken, he was gripping the bottle tightly.

"The strays, I was thinking that they could come in now, I found a space for them," I swallowed. This was definitely not what we were supposed to be discussing but I didn't know what else to say!

"Whom did you cheat on me with?" He asked, ignoring what I said about the strays.

"I didn't cheat, this isn't even a real relationship,"

"Answer my f*****g question?!" He roared and I flinched.

"I was angry and heartbroken last night, I wasn't thinking straight. A guard saw me crying, he approached me and I kissed him, " I lied, if he found out that I kissed his enemy, he'd make my death even more deadly. I gasped as the bottle he was holding flew dangerously close to my face. The glass shattered and some pieces of it made a few cuts on my feet.

"You're f*****g cheater!"

It hurts, doesn't it? I wanted to scream but I pressed my lips in a thin line.

"Say it, gloat," He hailed.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" I didn't know what made me oblige to him and his eyes widened, fury took over him and he put me in a chokehold with my back pressed against the wall. I clawed his arm but he was incredibly stronger and at this moment, I realized he could kill me and I wouldn't fight back. My eyes were starting to close as his grip tightened

"You had no right, you're behaving just like her... A w***e," He let me go brutally and I fell to the ground, taking in as much air as I could.

"I'm not a w***e, and I'm especially not her!" I spat, coughing. I managed to stand up after a few minutes but accidentally stepped on the shattered glass, I hissed in pain but stood up straight, ignoring the piercing in my skin.

"I want a name now," He demanded, I shook my head

"I won't let you kill an innocent man because of my mistakes. I don't even know him," I exhaled

"It was my fault, I'm sorry," I said. He glared at me with lethal eyes and gripped my cheeks together, making me wince.

"You can't do that to me again because I swear, I'll kill you," He promised me. I scratched his hands with my extended fingers and he let me go

"But you'll do it to me?" I scoffed.

"No, I won't,"
