Caliana's

POV

The next morning at the resort felt surreal. Firstly, I wasn't in the room I was used to and the environment was different. I spent over an hour trying to grasp reality and when I did, I cried in the bathroom for a good hour. When I finished, I went up but got startled by Tristin's presence in my bedroom. "What are you doing here so early!" I snapped, clutching the towel around me tighter.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, SUNSHINE," He smiled as if I didn't bark at him. I went to the closet to get dressed, I picked out a knee-length dress and sandals, brushed my hair, and went out. Tristin threw the magazine he was reading on the floor and sat up from the bed. He opened his arms and I hugged him, apologizing for snapping earlier. "Happy Birthday, little Cali,"

"I'm not little anymore," I murmured. He grabbed my hand and took me to the salon, he got a small cake from the table and asked me to blow out the candles. I closed my eyes and wished that my unborn child will be safe, and happy. I stroked his cheek and gave it a simple kiss, "Thank you, Tristin,"

"You're welcome, smallish Cali,"

"Smallish?"

"You will be my kiddo," I grabbed the cake and smeared it on his face, he put it down only to get a handful of it to smudge on my face but I ran away from his side and he chased me around, I was faster. I grabbed some and threw it all over him.

"I surrender, please don't daub me, I can't go back in the bathroom," I said. I didn't have the energy to run anymore.

"Okay," He ate the piece in his hand and cut a new small portion from what remained of it, and fed me.

"May you have a long and happy life, Caliana, I love you always," He said, I ate the cake with glee. It was delicious.

"Where's Alpha, Blanco?" I asked as we sat down.

"He is busy with work but he sent you best wishes, and flowers," He said, pointing at the bouquet of sunflowers I didn't see earlier.

"Thank you," I said.

We Facetimed with Emilia and Levy, they sang me the whole birthday song and opened the presents they bought me.

"Shouldn't I be the one to open them?" I frowned.

"The best part about birthdays for us is the present opening, since you are not here, we are doing it for you. Sue us," She said. My lips stretched into a smile when I saw a small baby t-shirt written I have a strong mommy.

"We got some for the baby too," Levy said.

"You're so sweet, guys,"

We chatted with them before we ended the call.

"Let's go have breakfast," Tristin said, holding his hand towards me to take.

"I don't want to go outside, I will just stay here and rewatch Friends if that's okay," I pouted so that he shouldn't insist. He sighed in defeat.

"I'll have it sent to you," He said and left the cabin. I was watching a TV show called Friends when the server came in with a full breakfast tray, however, I wasn't hungry. I ignored the food and continued to watch but I felt isolated. I decided to join Tristin and his friends for breakfast by the beach. They were sitting at a huge round table, laughing and smiling. They were all so refined, I turned back immediately, not wanting to rub my rotten mood on them.

The island was indeed beautiful, and I took a walk. I was strolling aimlessly, admiring the luminous aquamarine waters and the dazzling white shores, the sky was bright and blue.

I found a quiet place to sit near the boats, I was deep in my thoughts when I felt a tap on my shoulders, I jerked and clutched my chest. I turned my neck towards a good-looking boy no older than ten.

"Hello, Miss, you are crying. Is everything alright?" He asked, he seemed concerned. I didn't even realize I was until now. I quickly wiped my eyes and smiled at the kid.

"I think sand entered my eyes," I said softly, he didn't believe me but didn't question either. He sat next to me, his eyes watching the sea.

"Do you live here?" I asked.

"No, but my home is not far from here so I come here often but my cousin lives here," He said.

"What's your name?"

“Caliana,

"I'm Ellis,"

"How old are you?" I asked.

"I'm nine, and you?" He asked and I laughed.

"It's rude to ask a woman her age," I jested and he laughed.

"My mother too hides her age,"

"I turned twenty-two today actually," I informed him and his eyes lit up. Ellis stood up and ran somewhere without a word, he was back three minutes later with flowers in his hands, he gave them to me and kissed my hand. "Happy birthday, Miss Caliana," He smiled with a smile that warmed my heart. "Thank you so much," I smelled the flowers.

"Those are pink tulips, they are a symbol of good wishes," He told me. I caressed his cheek and he smiled. Ellis was telling me what he loves to do on the island when a man in his early twenties arrived at the beachfront, the boy got to his feet with a smile "Rad," He waved. Rad, smiled at the boy and called him over, the two discussed before Ellis came back to me,

"Do you want to go sailing with us, it's so much fun,"

I contemplated not going but gave in, he was excited and I didn't want to disappoint him.

"Hello, Miss, I'm Rad, Ellis' cousin," Rad extended his hand to me, and I shook it as I told him my name. The sailing boat was white and huge. Rad was a gentleman, he helped me get up and when we were all settled, they brought refreshments. "So Caliana, which pack are you from?" Asked Rad, opening a soft drink for me and pouring it into a glass.

"Dandelion pack in the west,"

"That's far, you're here on a vacation?"

"Something like that,"
