POV

Ellis and Rad got the boat ready and soon we were on the water. The cool wind was in my hair and being in the middle of the sea, I felt a serenity I missed, it was perfect at this moment. My hands went on my tummy as I watched Rad and Ellis being boys and sailing the boat. Rad was so gentle with Ellis and they two seemed pretty close despite their age difference. Rad sat next to me, and asked " What is the story? Who's got you miserable?"

"I'm not miserable," I answered, my voice surprised me, it was distant and void of any feelings.

"Okay," He didn't press the issue.

"How do you like the island so far?" He asked.

"It's impressive,"

"Are you here with someone?"

"Yes, my friends," I answered and he nodded. He checked his time and excused himself. Ellis came to me now.

"Did you see what I did? I turned it!"

"Well done, have you always loved sailing?" I asked.

"I didn't like it at first, I only did it because my father loved it but now I do,"

"Where is your dad?" Ellis frowned, "I don't know, the last time I talked to him, he was leaving to go somewhere," He said, it looked like he had a strained relationship with his father. Rad came back with a tray of food, only did I realize that I missed breakfast and it was way past lunch.

"Sandwiches," He said. I forced myself to eat as I wasn't hungry. We stayed on the boat for a few hours before we decided to go back to the resort. I bid the guys farewell and made my journey to my room. As I went there, I saw in the distance that my party had started.

What the heck, I decided to join them, but first, I tried to look appealing, rushing to my room. I brushed my hair and changed into a suede mini dress, I wore sandals and put on red lipstick to finish my look, nothing too lavish but better than I was. I met my attending servant at the door with a tray of food.

"I'm going to the party, take it back," I told her.

Alpha Blanco was the first to sense me. He grinned as soon as he saw me and extended his hand to me, I took it and he kissed my cheek kindly.

"Happy Birthday,"

"Thank you for the flowers," I said. He nodded, looking into my eyes, his stare left me vulnerable again and it did something to me. I cleared my throat and he blinked twice. "Here for your party?" He asked.

"I still can't believe you threw this party for me," My eyes wandered the beach, it looked magnificent, and everyone was refined, dressed in casual but elegant clothes, the music was playing and others were dancing and laughing. "Do you like it?" He asked and I scowled, he didn't let me answer before he called everyone's attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen, meet the birthday celebrity!" He cheered and everyone burst out in claps. The lights were dimmed and two almost naked girls were carrying a huge cake. The bunch started to sing a happy birthday song accompanied by an orchestral performance. It was a wonderful sight that all these strangers would do this for me. I smiled faintly and closed my eyes, wishing myself peace, and then blew out the candles, cheers once again erupted from the crowd and the music played. Alpha Blanco introduced me to some people but I knew I wouldn't remember them. Tristin was so drunk now and was dancing closely with Milo. Alpha Blanco pulled me by my waist to dance, I didn't resist, instead, I danced to the music. I had a good time and in that, I forgot all the problems I was going through.

"Cali? Little Cali, I have a surprise for you," Tristin said, pulling me from the crowd.

"What?"

"Close your eyes," I squinted my eyes but oblige,

"You can open them," He said and I looked into the air. There were beautiful fireworks in the air, I was so excited like a kid to watch them, I leaned my hand against Tristin's arm.

'I wish Edward was here with me to see this,'

Edward. I said silently.

The next day I was woken up by Tristin, I groaned and got out of bed to take a shower as one of the servants packed my bag. We slept late and wanted more rest but the guys had things to do.

"Are we flying to the pack?" I asked when I finished getting ready.

"No, Grey Lycan is an hour from here, in fact, we are in pack territory," He said, his fingers brushing the hem of my shirt to fix it. He was hungover and looked like a handsome zombie. I smiled at him and we went to the car.

Like the day we came, I sat at the back with the Alpha who seemed busy on his laptop. He acknowledged me and went back to work. The door slammed open and Tristin entered the car. As we moved, my eyes traveled around the island, and I thought of little Ellis, I'll miss him, I think. Tristin's eyes ran over me critically and he asked,

"What is going on in that pretty head of yours?"

"I'm just thinking about the little boy I met yesterday, Ellis, he is a sweetheart," I smiled at the thought of him.

"Ellis?" Alpha Blanco and Tristin said at once.

"Yes, do you know him,"

"My son's name is Ellis too," Alpha Blanco said. I didn't know he had a son.

The journey was silent and I slept halfway through it until we got into the vast town. It was neat and captivating, similar to most of the packs, they were really advanced in technology and had great bridges too.

"Welcome to the Grey Lycan pack, little Cali," I rolled my eyes at that nickname. He started to show me the main places and historical buildings around with merriment.

We soon reached a huge black gate that opened automatically to reveal a huge classic manor, we drove another three minutes before we reached the main house.

Alpha Blanco helps me out and my eyes wander around the manor, it's a classic style with traditional antique materials. There is a lovely garden with nice flowers and well-manicured lawns. The servants were outside, ready to welcome us. We went inside, and it was as impressive as it was outside.

Behind the manor was a cottage surrounded by trees and green flowers. That is where I would reside for the time I'll be here. It was beautiful with a nice view of the lake, the house was warm and cozy, it had tall windows that allowed me to see what goes on outside, and the ceiling was tall and made of mahogany. There was a kitchen area, a dining room, a library, and two bedrooms upstairs with an ensuite bathroom. "You like it?"

"I love," I told Tristin who smiled in contentment.

"An omega and chef will be assigned for you, don't worry, they will only come here to do their duties and leave," He informed me, I nodded. He kissed me goodbye and promised to visit soon before leaving. I just wanted to sleep.
