Caliana's

POV

Tears poured from my eyes but I was resolute, this story of Candace pretending to me is crazy! He just can't expect me to believe that. I got out of his grab, almost making me fall but he grabbed me tightly. His arms were warming me. "Well, it's my baby, not yours,"

His eyes flash a dangerous color but I didn't flinch, I know all too well that he won't hurt me physically, especially in my condition. I look him dead in the eyes

"No, I'm not taking you back, and quit this unconventional narrative," I said emotionless. He was displeased by that but I couldn't care. What he did shocked me, he f*****g kissed me, it wasn't deep or savage but he kind and sweet. "I'm telling the truth about what that woman did. How can I prove this to you?"

"Okay," I took in a deep sharp breath, and he swallowed hard. "Leave me alone and I'll ponder about what you said and do an investigation of my own," I smiled tightly.

Hours later, I was in my room, thinking about what he said. It was crazy that Candace would do that, I will kill that b***h myself when I run to her. I stood up and went to the balcony, my eyes immediately roamed to where my mate was, he was in the garden, watching the kids play. His build stiffened, sensing my presence and he turned around, our gazes locked and my breath hitched. I went back inside my room.

I was in the bathroom, soaking myself in a bath full of oils to relax as I couldn't sleep well not because of how big my stomach is but because of Edward, his face kept replaying in my head and I hated that he consumed my thoughts this much. f*****g Candace. I got out of the bathroom and like the day before, I woke up to bouquets with a note signed by Edward; Good morning, babes. I rolled my eyes and threw it away. Does he think we are on good terms just because we talked?

I went downstairs and had breakfast with Ellis, his father, and Tristin didn't come today so I will be spending more time with him.

"Ellis, is the doppelganger tale true?" I asked and he nodded surely.

"Love told me so, even Jace,"

"Your friend, Jace?"

"Yes, he lives at the pack house and has been seeing you but you were not pregnant,"

I inhaled and stood up, tired of sitting already. I took out my phone to call Levy but it wasn't going through.

Evelyn and Vince were walking downstairs, looking to be in a pleasing mood. I groaned, almost forgetting that they live here since I don't see them often. They bowed lowly to me and smiled. "Why aren't you at work?" I asked sharply.

"I resigned, and it's his day off," Evelyn answered.

"And where are you going,"

She removes a credit card from her bag and flashes it to me with a smile," Shopping,"

I narrowed my gaze on them until it hit me "You told Edward I was here didn't you?" I growled, and she took a step back.

"My dear, he was desperate to talk to you and who am I to come between two fated mates,"

They f*****g sold me out to the Chasias again! I didn't have time for these two, I needed to go to the Golden stone to confirm what Edward was telling me.

"Vince, drive me to the Golden Stone pack," I didn't wait for his reply before walking out the door. Since that accident, I was scared to drive. I sat in the backseat of the car with Ellis and with a frown on their faces, Evelyn and Vince entered the car.

Vince drove us to the pack. In thirty minutes we reached the border... Patrol immediately came to inspect the car but as soon as they saw it was me, they smiled and bowed their heads, allowing us entrance. A warm sensation basked me as my mind opened up to the Lycans in the pack. The bond was broken but I couldn't feel it anymore, I just assumed it was because I wasn't in the pack any longer. For a moment I felt lightheaded and complete. My bond with Edward coming back in full force 'Caliana,' He said in my head but I immediately shut him out.

"Cali, are you alright?" Asked Ellis, troubled. I smiled a yes to him and I instructed Vince where to go. We went straight to the stray's mansion, it was secluded from the rest because I didn't want to meet anyone from the pack. I smiled when we reached the long driveway, it was just as we left it. Kareen and Olivia were at the entrance, wanting to see who came. The car stopped and I stepped out, their faces showed confusion as they glanced at each other and then at me.

"Lu-Luna," Kareen smiled awkwardly. Yep, Edward was telling me the truth. I smiled at the ladies and they approached, bowing their heads low.

"How are you?" We exchanged pleasantries and asked me to enter the house...I called Ellis over and he rushed to me. We went straight to the kitchen where we sat when I came here. A girl of Ellis' age appeared and took him away while I talked to the ladies. "How did this happen so suddenly?" Olivia asked, surprised.

"When last did you see me?" I asked, smiling. I didn't know if Alpha Edward wanted people to know what was going on.

"A month ago, you came to get the budget but you weren't pregnant," Kareen answered, giving me a glass of water. I took it and drank.

"How was my behavior?"

I was angry when they told me how rude Candace was. It was like her sore mission was to get them to despise me.

"I am sorry for my behavior last time,"

"Luna, what is going on?" Olivia eyed me and I shook my head, not ready to talk about it. I stayed there for over an hour and they told me the progress they made. I was impressed. Merabi found their jobs in the pack and the kids went to school, however, that came with a little trouble for the mom.

After chatting and interacting with them, I decided to go back to my pack but promised to visit. Ellis came to me and we went back to the car, he was sad to leave his new friends he met a few hours ago.

"Where's Evelyn?" I asked Vince when I entered the car.

"She's on a phone call with her new boyfriend," He answered.

"She's dating? Good for her," my eyes searched for her. Evelyn was giggling and smiling, it was odd. She was my father's second love and they had a good life together, seeing her talk to another man is strange. She soon got back in the car with a smile but it faltered when she twisted her head towards me and guilt flashed on her face. I only sent her a slight smile and she smiled back at me, with tears in her eyes. She cleared her throat and got comfortable in the passenger seat.

Vince drove but as we approached the border, he stopped.

"The Alpha,"
