Chapter 21 confession

It had been almost 3 months since the incident occurred and Luna hadmanaged to avoid both luca and Soccorah. Her uncle was still obsessedwith tracking down the witch that killed his brother and sister-in-law.Luna was mad about that, but she did not feel as badly about it asLucian did. She was a teenager now and was going through so manymore changes than the human teenager. She not only had to worryabout dating and boyfriends but also about training and keeping hernew world a secret.

She did miss her parents but started to understand a bit why Luca hadreacted the way that he did toward her. She started to think that maybeshe'd been too hard on them. She acted out of hurt. She thought ofSoccorah as a friend and her trying to stun her brought back all the oldmemories of Hailey’s deception and treachery. It had wounded her somuch that she couldn't bring herself to look at them. In spite of hersecret feelings for Luca she refused to let him get near her.

She walked into the Lunchroom and sat at her usual spot in the corner.She liked to sit and listen to the whispers of the persons at the school.She had been making use of her newfound abilities and had actuallythought of her life without them as boring. She was very happy aboutthe person she had become. She now had a family and packmates wholooked to her for advice and approval. As the alpha pack had givenresponsibilities to her uncle, she now had to assist with some of those.She trained with the pack’s females and had found them to be nomatch for her. She was stronger, faster, smarter and her other abilitieshad started to manifest.

She suddenly became alert when she smelled Soccorah. Within secondsshe entered the lunch room and saw Luna seated in the corner. Therewas an empty table next to her so she grabbed her lunch and went toseat on the table next to her. Soccorah didn't say a word to Luna. Thewo sat at different tables alone in the deafening silence that engulfedthem in spite of the noisy cafeteria. Lunch was over and So Luna got upto leave. Just then Soccorah got up and stood in front of her.

“Hey!” she said to Luna afraid that Luna was going to embarrass her yetagain. “Yes? What do you want?” Luna replied. Soccorah was surprisedat how civil she was as the last time she had attempted to talk to hershe had been so bitter she hadn't even given her the time of day. “Ireally wanted to talk to you to explain what happened that night. It hasbeen three months and You were my best friend. I really need toexplain and apologize.” She said. “Well then replace me after school then. Ihave a thing right now.” With that Luna flicked her beautiful white hairover her shoulder and walked out of the lunch room.

Soccorah immediately called Luca and had him meet her under the Oaktree after their class. The two waited there nervously for Luna and whenshe finally arrived during the last class of the day which apparently washer free period Soccorah called out to her and motioned for her tocome over. Luna came over looked at the two of them and lay downher back pack and sat under the shade of the oak tree and waited asshe was very interested in hearing an explanation to the events of thatnight.

“Well now you finally decide that you owe me an apology. I mean Ireally want to understand why someone whom I thought to be myfriend, my only friend would try to hurt me and do it by dragging me toyour house to do it. I am listening but let me just tell you that theperson whom you tried to hurt that night is long gone and it would bea mistake to attempt such tricks on me right now.” Luna warned.Soccorah began. “Ever since the first day that I saw you in class I knewthat you were different. Not the normal different but very different.Then I started to notice little things like your strength, speed. Your hairand eyes were something strange as your eyes change color every oncein a while. I'm not even sure that you realize. I knew that you weredifferent and I wanted so badly to ask you about it but you never gaveme a hint. I figured that I would invite you to our house to see if mymom or Luca could pick up on your character or kind but when theydidn’t my mom agreed that we would use a spell. I know now that wewere wrong and I am so sorry about the way that we went aboutthings. We I mean I should have asked you right away.

“Hmmm, Luca? What was your place in this whole thing? I saw you gointo the Kitchen and you never came out but in your place was a hugewolf who tried to attack me. Soccorah Your eyes were pink and I knowthat you were not wearing contacts when you were seated at the tablenext to me. What are you people?

“Please, just be honest. I never tried to attack you. I was angry atSoccorah for what they had done. You ran out before we could explain.I was spelled. I drank a potion meant for you. The potion is harmless.Soccorah and her mom would never hurt anyone unless I ask them tooand I did not. They acted recklessly and you were hurt in the processand for this we are truly sorry.”

“What pack do you belong too?” she asked Luca with a smile. “Heopened his eyes in bewilderment. “So you know about us then. Buthow? What are you?” Luna smiled back at him and stretched out herhand toward him. He grabbed hold of her as he helped her up. “Youhave apologized and I accept your apology.” This is what you get fornow. Your secret is safe with me. “I'm just like you. Why do you thinkthat you couldn't catch me? And you never will” she smiled warmly atLuca as she let go of his hand. I'll see you around and by the way youguys owe me dinner. With that she left them and made her way home.
