chapter 23 Controlling My Feelings

It was Saturday and Luna got up at the crack of dawn. She went for arun to calm her and showered for what seemed to be an hour. Shepicked out her outfit which were a pair of short jeans and a crop top.She wore a cardigan over it and accessorized with her fashion necklacesand bracelets. He put her hair in a bun and wore some cherry flavoredlip gloss. She packed some lunch with extras as she didn't know howlong they would be neither did she know what they would be doing. Itwas a little past nine when the pickup arrived.

Luca couldn't help but scrutinize her as she walked over to the truck.She was so beautiful. Like out of this world beautiful. Her lips weremoist and inviting. Her breasts were so perfectly perky like twinmountains on a beautiful landscape. He waist was so tiny and herstomach so flat, so perfect. Soccorah was seated in the passenger seat and Luca was at the wheel.He didn't look back as Luna sat in the back and turned on the ignitionand set off for the creek. Every now and then he would sneak a pick ather in the rearview mirror. He didn't know that it would be so difficultto be this close to her. It would take all of his restraint to keep hisemotions to himself. He sat thinking what he'd gotten himself into.This girl was so perfect. It was as if she was made just for him. One wayor another he would make her his but he just needed to hold on a littlelonger. Last thing he wanted to do was scare her off. She hadn't eventold them that she was a wolf. He could sense it on her now but sheneeded to come out and say it. She needed to trust them first. Todaywas supposed to be the day that they would leave all secrets behind.They needed to come clean with each other. The creek was the perfectplace for that. It was quiet, secluded. No one went up there. Peoplepreferred to use the tracks on the other side of the mountain to hikeand camp. This side of the mountain was practically deserted and sobeautiful especially at night during the full moon.

“What are you smiling about?” Soccorah asked luca startling him. He'dbeen so lost in thought that he had not realized that he'd openedhimself up this much. “Just listening to u two babble.” He said hopingthat his response would satisfy Soccorah who had definitely picked upon his interest in Luna. He was so worried about what she'd think ofhim. Luca was not used to rejection and Luna had already rejected himonce without her even knowing it he could not risk it happening again.They cam to the end of the road and grabbed their gear. “To get to thecreek we have to hike a long way up this mountain then half way down.We should have asked you to wear long jeans. This particular path is abit difficult but it is worth the trouble I promise.” Luca said looking atLuna. She was however unmoved. They started the hike and after Lunarealized that they were wasting time on the hike suggested somethingsurprising. “Luc a I know that you can run fast and transform. Soccorah,I know that you are have magic. So, if you are taking this route becauseof me please stop it. It is ridiculous. If not, I will meet you guys at thecreek.

With that, Luna ran into the forest and disappeared. Luca and Soccorahdashed off after her jumping through the trees at super human speed.“Luna, wait up it could be dangerous!” Soccorah shouted but got noresponse from her. Luca could not even catch her scent. This surprisedhim. He was the fastest Lycan apart for his father and no one had everbeen able to compare to their power but Luna was apparently fasterthan him; Possibly faster than his father.

Within five minutes Luca arrived and found Luna seated on the bank ofthe creek and had already laid out the food she'd brought on a largecloth on an old table under the large oak tree near the creek. He wasastonished. “Slow poke” she said as she heard him approach. She stoodup from where she sat and as she stood up to look at him their eyesmet and she felt a current run through her. It was as if every cell in herbody was on fire. The two just stood looking at each other in silence.He could not take his eyes away and neither could she.

Soccorah arrived about three minutes after Luca and she broke theawkward silence between them saying “Luna, how is it that you didn'teven break a sweat? What the hell are You?” Luca looked at Soccorahsurprised at her statement. Luna replied, “well I know that Luca is awolf, the biggest I've ever seen and you have some magic so I knewthat I didn't have to hide from you guys. Luca you can relax. This is oneof the reasons I forgave you. Uncle Lucian explained that you were justtrying to keep your secret a secret.”

With that the three relaxed and spent the day conversing and talkingabout school and the burdens of keeping the secret. Luca keptscrutinizing Luna when she was not watching and Luna did the same.They stayed a safe distance from each other as both were secretlyafraid of what would happen if they got too close to each other. Lucahad to choose a mate but there was to be a ceremony. He was after allthe Lycan prince and his mate would have to possess royal blood.

Luca came out of the water and took off his shirt to wring it and Lunacouldn't help but stare at his hard perfectly built stomach with his well-defined abs. Soccorah was also staring. “Luca put that shirt back on Youare in the presence of innocence. Soccorah shouted at him. “Lucalaughed uncontrollably “Soccorah the hell are you talking about. I hopeyou're not referring to yourself’ He laughed long and hard whilegathering his stuff. They all left the creek as it was already late.

It was a great day one that neither of them would forget.
