The Maiden and The Four Waters -
Chapter Twenty- Six
The heat pushed into the room as the bright light from the sun bounced around the hospital room.
Exel uncomfortably repositioned himself in the chair beside the bed as he rubbed his eyes.
He hadn’t left the bed side for four days.
Exel stretched his neck as he shifted his gaze to the woman laying still in the bed, the hospital bed sheet pulled up to her chest and her arms laying by her side on top of the bed sheet.
Her hair had been neatly brushed with it parted side of her head; the length of her long hair sat equally down her shoulders.
The once innocence’s of her face now covered in a three clawed scratch from her forehead down over her eye and down to the corner of her lip on the left side of her face.
Her neck showed signs of bruising by hands.
Strands of lavender had been thrown over her body as she laid near still in the bed.
