Chapter 1457 Took Away The Remaining Martial Spirits
Rocky strode over to Tessa's side as though nothing had happened. Placing his hand on her shoulder calmly, he coaxed, "Come one!"
Just then, the martial spirit that had been resisting fusion with Tessa earlier suddenly shot towards her body.
At first, Tessa was too shocked to move. When she finally regained her senses, she quickly took the opportunity to fuse the martial spirit with her body. It didn't take long for her to successfully complete the fusion. Suddenly, her body flashed with a bright spiritual light, and her spiritual aura grew in power.
"You finally merged with it!" Uriel exclaimed in surprise.
About half an hour later, Tessa's spiritual light transformed into a spiritual pillar. When that happened, her spiritual aura also broke through to the King Realm.
"I've succeeded!" At that moment, Tessa opened her eyes excitedly, revealing a trace of pride.
"Congratulations," Miguel muttered. Although he was a bit bitter at her success, he managed to plaster on a fake smile.
"Congratulations, Miss Tessa," Ramon said, clapping his hand on her shoulder chummily.
"This is good," Uriel said with a satisfied nod. "Although it was a little dangerous just now, you managed to complete the fusion smoothly." Then, turning to Rocky, he frowned slightly. "And where did you go earlier? You are so reckless! If you didn't come back, I wouldn't have known how to explain it to the governor..."
"There was an emergency just now," Rocky quickly explained. "So, I needed to do what I thought was best for us. If this made you unhappy, please, forgive me!"
"Well, I'm not angry at you," Uriel said with a sigh. "You were able to buy us enough time to let Tessa fuse with the martial spirit." Rocky had managed to lure away the group of martial spirits, which allowed Tessa to focus. Otherwise, the fusion would've failed and all would've been for naught.
"However, the martial spirit that Tessa fused with is a medium-level one," Uriel said. "Unfortunately, that means the disk's power has been exhausted. So, let's stop here and go back." Upon hearing that, everyone shook their heads and sighed dejectedly.
Normally, the Spirit-restricting Disk could trap two to three low-grade martial spirits. With a middle-grade martial spirit, however, it could only trap one. Once the power of the disk was used up, it needed a year to recuperate, and only then would it be usable again. Thus, until then, even if one had the chance to return to the Martial Spirit Graveyard, it'd be in vain.
Without dilly-dallying any further, Uriel gathered the members and made preparations to leave the graveyard.
"Elder Uriel, I have an upset stomach," Rocky complained all of a sudden. "You guys can go ahead first. I'll catch up in a bit."
"Then we'll wait for you at the entrance," Uriel said somewhat reluctantly. "Hurry up. Although the spiritual fog has dissipated, that doesn't mean martial spirits won't show up..."
Rocky nodded meekly. He watched as the group left, and waited until they were out of sight. When he felt they were far enough, Rocky retreated to a secluded area and whispered, "You can come out now!" Soon, countless martial spirits flew out from the darkness of the Martial Spirit Graveyard. They hovered before Rocky and bowed before him, as though he was their leader.
"It seems I guessed right," Rocky murmured to himself. "The headless martial spirit I met must be their leader. But isn't the Martial Spirit Graveyard the place where the peerless masters of the Supreme Ether Land were buried? What's more, the headless martial spirit asked me to help it take back the throne of the Shura Race. There must've been a relationship between him and the Shura Race... It must have something to do with the natural disaster in the Martial Spirit Graveyard. Perhaps, it was not a natural disaster. But how does it all connect? Although the headless martial spirit left a part of its memories with me, I only have bits and pieces. If I want to replace out what exactly happened in the past, I'm going to have to restore all its memories..." He narrowed his eyes slightly, studying the martial spirits surrendering before him. He counted around sixty or seventy of them.
In a loud voice, he said, "Since the headless martial spirit is your leader and is gone, it's not appropriate for you to stay here anymore. Moreover, you've been here a long time. Now that your leader has fused with me, we can leave this place together. I will help each of you replace a suitable owner, and also help your leader fulfill its last wish!" He knew that if he could take all the martial spirits away, as long as he could replace Marcia and the others and let them merge all the martial spirits, they would be able to obtain enough power to return to the Wild Spirit Land.
Rocky's words seemed to rouse the martial spirits. They started to roar, as though they were cheering on their great leader.
With a satisfied nod, Rocky then opened his Magic Spiritual Space and let the martial spirits enter it. Once they'd all been safely tucked away, he hurried off to catch up with the team.
Two days later, they reached the entrance of the Heavenly Stream Valley.
"Tessa, come with me to see Master Harrison," Uriel said. "The rest of you can go back to have a rest. Thank you all for your hard work!"
The warriors at the King Realm couldn't help but feel disappointed, grumbling among themselves. But, one by one, they left.
"Captain Ramon, we should go, too," Rocky suggested.
"Okay," Ramon said with a nod.
Watching their receding figures, Miguel frowned deeply. He was disappointed in the fact that he didn't have the chance to attack Rocky. Back then, when Rocky had lured away the martial spirits by himself, he hoped he'd never come back. However, Rocky had managed to escape and moreover, had helped Tessa fuse with a martial spirit. Thinking about that made Miguel so angry. He snorted and then stormed off.
As everyone was left to their own devices, Tessa and Uriel headed for the Arcane Sword Hall. There, they found Harrison. They quickly relayed to him everything they experienced in the Martial Spirit Graveyard, including the fact that Tessa successfully fused with a martial spirit and Rocky's amazing performance.
"I'm so proud of you!" Harrison beamed at his daughter. "To be honest, I didn't think you'd be successful the first time. However, it seems fate is on our side!" Harrison looked at Tessa with admiration. Some warriors from the Sword Spirit Sect would enter the Martial Spirit Graveyard several times before they'd meet a suitable martial spirit to merge with. His daughter was so lucky!
Uriel's expression then grew serious. "However, the martial spirit Tessa fused is a medium-level one. Consequently, she used up the power of the Spirit-restricting Disk, so the others didn't get a chance."
"Is that so?" Harrison cocked one eyebrow at him. "Then, it's necessary to reward them!" Since his daughter had successfully fused with the martial spirit, of course he was incredibly pleased and was willing to compensate the others fairly.
"That sounds like a good compromise," Uriel said with a slight smile, cupping his hands courteously.
"Thank you for your hard work, Elder Uriel," Harrison said to him. "I've also prepared a small gift for you. I'll ask my people to send it to you later..."
"You're too kind." Uriel's smile widened. After all, Harrison was the top guardian of the Sword Spirit Sect and the governor of the Sword Spirit City, so Uriel figured his gift would be of great value. Bidding Harrison and Tessa goodbye, Uriel left the hall.
