The Mysterious Luna -
Chapter 15
Jessica POV
A few days had gone by and things were getting back to normal. Sam and Brad, were practically taking turns babysitting me. I laughed at their over protective ways, but totally understood where they were coming from. They were so worried that I would go missing again, that they wouldn’t let me leave their sight.
Brad had come over, right after the incident and was so relieved to see me. I was happy when he told me that I still had a job, he didn’t replace me. That was a big relief, I didn’t want to replace a new one, I enjoy working at his coffee shop.
The police officer that was in charge of my missing person file, had come to our apartment and took a statement from me. When I was done telling him what happened, I could see disbelief if his eyes, he didn’t seem to believe a word I was saying.
Honestly, I don’t blame him, it was all so crazy. They searched the woods and I wasn’t surprised, when they didn’t replace the little village that I told them about. The investigation came to a stand still, they told me that there was nothing further they could do.
I was getting back into a routine, I was relieved when I hadn’t run into any of the guys that kidnapped me. Luckily for me, I never told them where I lived or worked,m. This is a big city, I should be able to stay hidden away from them, if I stay out of the spot light.
It was Friday night and I didn’t have to work tonight, Sam was off and so was Brad. We decided to hang out and drink some wine together.
Brad showed up to our apartment, around 8:00pm with a bottle of wine.
“Ladies, who’s ready for a ménage a trois?“ Brad joked, while walking into our apartment, Sam and I both giggled. He was a bit of a flirt, but it was totally innocent.
“I’m in the mood to go out dancing, it’s been forever since we last went out.” Sam said excitedly, while glancing between Brad and I.
“I don’t know, if I’m really in the mood.” I replied, with an apologetic smile.
“Oh come on, you need to get your life back on track, you can’t lock yourself up in this apartment because of what happened, live a little.” Brad said with a smile, while handing me a glass of wine.
“Ya, you weren’t given that perfect little body, to keep it hidden away in this apartment.” Sam teased, while poking at my body, making me giggle.
“This isn’t fair, it’s like you two are ganging up on me.” I said with a pout, Sam and Brad both laughed.
“So, is that a yes?” Sam asked excitedly.
“I guess, so.” I grumbled out, not overly excited at the idea of going out.
“Oh my god, I’m so excited, we have to dress up.” Sam squealed, as she grabbed her glass of wine and ran into her room. I rolled my eyes, while Brad chuckled.
“Where is there to go dancing around here?”
I asked Brad.
“There’s a new nightclub in town, Hot spot, it’s really popular, we should check it out.” Brad said and at the same time, Sam came out of her bedroom, carrying an arm full of dresses.
“Yes! We have to go there, I heard it’s amazing.” Sam said excitedly.
“Try this on.” Sam said, while handed me a little black dress.
I took the dress and examined it. It was knee length, but there was a wide slit on the right side, that would expose most of my thigh, the top had small straps with a plunge neckline and the back was exposed. This dress was extremely revealing.
“ I-I can’t wear t-that.” I stuttered out, feeling embarrassed and I was only holding the dress in my hands.
“Come on, at least try it on.” Brad encouraged, I glanced up at him, to see how excited he looked.
“Ok.” I said lowly, while walking towards the bathroom, with the dress in my hands.
“Wait! Wear these shoes with it and this lipsticks.” Sam ordered, while handed me a pair of cherry red stilettos and matching l*p stick.
“Ok.” I said hesitantly, while taking the shoes and l*p stick, before headed to the bathroom and shut the door behind me. I let out a sigh, when I was alone. This dress was definitely out of my comfort zone. The whole outfit practically screamed, I’m available and looking, but I’m not interested in a relationship.
I put it on anyway, with the shoes and applied the lipsticks. I looked myself over in the mirror, I looked like a completely different person. I certainly wasn’t use to wearing revealing outfits, I’m more of a jeans and tank top kinda girl.
I took a deep breath, before walking out of the bathroom.
Sam saw me first, her jaw drop in shock and it drew Brad’s attention to me. His mouth parted, when he took In my appearance, I couldn’t quit make out his emotions, but he wasn’t looking away, his eyes travelled down my body. The attention made me feel uncomfortable and I was blushing with embarrassment.
“You looked smoking hot!” Sam squealed out, Brad still hadn’t taken his eyes off me. I didn’t reply, I just gave her a small smile.
“Jess, you look stunning.” Brad blurted out.
“Umm, wipe the drool off your chin Brad” Sam teased and Brad pretended to be wiping drool form his face, the action made me giggle.
“Give me a minute, I’ll go get dress and we can head out.” Sam said excitedly, as she practically ran towards her room, carrying a gold coloured mini dress.
Ten minutes went by, Brad and I had been chatting and laughing about everything, when Sam walked into the room.
She was wearing a strapless gold coloured dress, that ended mid thigh, it was a tight fitted and had a princess neckline, it really suited her. She looked stunning. She also had on, gold stiletto’s that matched her outfit.
“Wow Sam, you look incredible.” I said, while taking in her appearance.
“You really do, I’m going to have to fight off all the horny men tonight, from getting close to you two.” Brad said jokingly, with a smirk on his face.
“Don’t worry, I have no intentions of getting close to any men tonight, I’m only going to hang out with you guys.” I replied truthfully.
“We’ll see about that.” Sam said, with a mischievous smile on her face.
“Let’s get out of here.” Brad said, while opened the apartment door.
We walked to the club, it was only fifteen minute away. It’s nice that our apartment is right downtown, everything is walking distance, I rarely even need to take the bus.
There was a long lineup outside the club, but Brad seemed to know the bouncer, we didn’t have to wait, he let us right in.
The place was packed with people and the music was pounding loudly. My nose was hit with so many different scents, alcohol, body odour and arousal? I don’t even know how I can smell that, but that’s what I think it was, my senses where overloaded and I couldn’t help but cringe in disgust, at the overpowering smells.
“Let’s go get a drink before we dance.” Sam said excitedly, Brad and I nodded and followed her over to the bar.
We got our drinks and Brad made a toast.
“Here’s a toast, to my two favourite ladies and a fun filled night.” Brad said, with a big smile on his face, while we clinked our glasses together.
“Cheers” Sam and I said, in unison.
“Now let’s go dance!” Sam shouted out, excitedly.
“I’ll join you guys in a few, I need one drink in me, before I can dance.” I replied.
Sam looked disappointed, but didn’t push me. She grabbed Brad’s hand and before he could even speak, she was dragging him onto the dance floor. He glanced back at me and mouthed the word ‘help’ jokingly and I giggle. Gosh, I love those two.
I took a sip from my glass of wine, it was in a plastic cup, I guess they don’t trust drunk people around here with glass, I chuckled to myself.
I suddenly got this feeling that I was being watched. I turned around and scanned the crowed, but I couldn’t replace anyone looking in my directly.
I ignored the feeling, I mean, I’m in a bar and it’s packed with people, anyone could of glanced my way.
I turned around to face the bar and took another sip from my drink. Only seconds later, I felt a presence behind me. I turned to see who it was and my heart beat quickened, when I found a man standing way to close for comfort. He had a smirk on his face, while he looked down at me.
He was extremely tall, around 6’3 and was built like a boxer, his hair was light brown and his eyes were hazel, he would probably be considered handsome, if he wasn’t making me extremely uncomfortable. He was wearing a tight white T-shirt and ripped jeans. He had a dangerous vibe going on and I didn’t like the look he was giving me.
“I found you.” He said in a sinister tone, with a smirk on his face. It caused a nervous chill to run down my spine. I had a bad feeling in my gut, about this guy. What does he mean, when he said I found you? Did I know this man, before the coma?
“W-Who are y-you?” I asked, in a shaky voice. The dangerous smirk on his face never went away. He lowered his face, so it was right next to my ear.
“Did you think you could hide from me forever?” He whispered into my ear and now panic started to kick in. What does he mean? Who is this guy?
I let out of breath of relief, when Sam and Brad walked up to us. The man pulled away from me and gave me one more dangerous smirk, before he walked away, without saying another word.
“Dang, who’s the hottie?” Sam asked, with an eyebrow raised, while fanning her face with her hand.
“I don’t know, but he gave me a bad feeling.” I replied nervously. Sam just brushed it off.
“Ok, let’s order another drink and this time you’re coming to dance with me.” Sam said, giving me a pointed look, warning me not to argue with her. She turned around and order us three new drinks, from the bartender.
My eyes scanned the bar, looking for that scary man, but I couldn’t see him anywhere. I still had this feeling of being watched. I really wanted to go home, but Sam and Brad would be disappointed if I did, so I decided to stay for a little bit longer. There’s lots of people in here, so nothing bad can happen to me, as long as I stay where there’s a crowd.
Sam handed me my drink, before dragging me onto the dance floor and Brad followed us. There was a catchy song playing, making it easy to sway my h**s to the music. I never stopped searching the crowd for that man, I really hope that I don’t see him again.
