The Mysterious Luna
Chapter 20

Jessica POV

I walked quickly towards my apartment, while constantly looking around me, making sure that I wasn’t being followed.

I started walking down a dark alleyway, that was only a block from my apartment, it was eerily quiet and a chill ran down my spine. I was half way through, when all of a sudden, one of those giant wolves came into view, at the entrance of the alley. I gasped, when I saw him and the fear within me started to rise. Not this again, I thought to myself, as I turned and started to run in the opposite direction.

I stopped dead in my tracks, when another wolf blocked that entrance as well. Once again, they had me cornered. I darted my eyes, both ways down the alley, as they stalked closer towards me. I then noticed, that there were several more wolves behind them. This is not good, I thought to myself.

As they got closer, I jumped up onto a large garbage container, trying to keep my distance from the vicious animals.

All of a sudden, I heard a man’s voice, it made me look past the wolves. My eyes landed on a man, who was walking towards me. I recognized him immediately, as the creepy man from the club. He wasn’t afraid of the wolves and they didn’t seem to be bother by him. I wonder if they are his pets?

My heart was practically beating out of my chest, he had that same sinister look on his face.

“We meet again.” He said, with a smirk.

“What do you want from me?” I asked, fear lacing my words. He had a curious look on his face.

“What I want? You’re seriously going to ask me that? I want you, I always have and I always will. You can’t ever get away from me.” He replied, with a dry chuckle.

“Y-You must b-be confusing m-me with so-someone else. I-I don’t k-know you.” I stuttered out, with so much fear in my voice.

He continued walking towards me and stopped directly in front of the garbage can, that I was standing on. I was a trembling mess, waiting for him to speak. The wolves were standing beside him, just watching me. It was the weirdest thing, but I didn’t have time to put much thought into it.

“You can mask your scent all you want, but I would recognize your face anywhere. Did you really think, I would let you go? I have great plans for you.” He said, in his sinister voice and reached for my ankle.

I jumped back on the garbage bin and screamed out loudly.

“HELP”

I hoped, that someone would hear me and come to my rescue.

He managed to get a grip of my ankles and in one swift motion, he pulled me off the garbage can. I yelped at the sudden action and then whimpered in pain, when my body hit the ground hard. Everything hurt and I had nothing left in me, to fight back. I closed my eyes and waited to die. This is it, I’m going to die in an alleyway, by either a crazy man or wolves.

All of a sudden, I heard vicious growling coming from further down the alley and I opened my eyes to see more wolves. The wolves with the crazy man, seemed to react to the new arrivals and were snarling back at them.

Another man walked into the alley way, behind the new wolves and I recognized him right way, as the Alpha Colton guy. My eyes grew wide with shock. Seriously, how unlucky can I be? Could this day get any worse?

The crazy guy that had his hands on my ankles, let go of me and turned to face Alpha Colton.

I took the opportunity, to sit up and shuffle my body, back against the wall.

“Don’t interfere Alpha Colton. I’m warning you.” The crazy guy spat out angrily. I heard Colton chuckle dryly. It caused another chill to run down my spine. The simple sound of him chuckling, radiated with power and confidence, he was extremely intimidating.

“You think I’m going to let you take her? Think again. This is my warning, leave now, or I’m going to enjoy killing you.” Alpha Colton replied and the calmness of his voice was terrifying. Why is he willing to fight for me, I mean kill for me?

I didn’t have much time to think about what he said, because I was brought out of my thoughts, when the craziest thing happened. Alpha Colton body, transformed into a large Black Wolf and so did the other crazy guy. I screamed in fear, what the hell is going on. I must be dreaming.

I watched, frozen with shock, as the wolves started to fight each other. It was a gory mess, b***d was splattering everywhere and I even saw one, rip the throat out of another wolf.

I shook my head, trying to regain focus. Now is my opportunity to get away from these people or wolves, whatever the hell they are. I stood up from the ground and ran out the opposite end of the alley, while they were preoccupied fighting.

Luckily, I was only a block from home. I ran as fast as I could and made it to my building. I looked around to make sure no one was following me, before I quickly pulled the keys out of my pocket and opened the front door.

I let out a breath of relief, when the door closed behind me. Tears were running down my cheeks, as I made my way up the elevator and towards my apartment.

I can’t even wrap my brain, around tonight’s events. I must of done some bad before the coma, for me to deserve such fate.

I got to my apartment and opened the door. I walked in and closed the door being me. I turned the light on in the kitchen and turned to face the living room.

I froze in shock, at the sight in front of me. Josh stood, only ten feet away from me and Sam laid on the couch unconscious. My eyes darted between them, while panic once again consumed my body.

“Good evening Jessica.” Josh said, with his arms crossed over his chest and a serious look on his face. I was looking around, franticly trying to replace an escape route.

“Don’t run Jess, you wouldn’t want to leave your friend here alone with me, would you?” Josh asked calmly. He was right, this is my mess and I dragged Sam into it. I can’t just leave her.

“What did you do to her?” I asked, as the fear for my friend wellbeing grew.

“It’s just a sedative. She will be up and back to normal in a few hours, with no memory of what happened.” Josh replied, still maintaining a calm demeanour.

“What the f**k do guys want with me!” I shouted out in anger. I was surprise at my own outburst. It was like, the events last led up to this point, had finally broken me and instead of pure fear coursing through my veins, rage had also consumed me.

“We’re just trying to protect you.” Josh said softly, but I could see the concern in his eyes, after my little outburst. I scoffed at his words.

“Protect me? It’s you guys, that I need protection from.” I spat out angrily, while tears fell from my eyes.

He slowly walked closer to me and I matched his steps moving backwards.

“I’m not going to hurt you Jessica.” He said, with his hands up in surrender. He was looking at me with cautious eyes, as he continued to approach.

I felt like a wild animal and that Josh was trying to corner and capture me. I can’t let that happen.

I mustered all the strength I had left and charge at him. He wasn’t expecting the move and I managed to knock him over. I heard a huff leave his lips as he fell backwards onto the ground.

I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a knife from the cutting block, before turning around and replaceing Josh standing back on his feet, with his hands up in surrender.

“You won’t hurt me.” Josh said cautiously, but his words didn’t sound confident.

“I think you’re mistaken, back the fuckup!” I shouted, while holding the knife in front of me and jabbing it towards him. My hands were trembling.

“Ok, I’m backing up, just calm down Jess, please.” Josh replied, with a calm voice.

I was distracted by Josh and my back was facing the door, I never heard it open.

All of a sudden, someone grabbed my hand, the one that was holding the knife. I gasped in shock and tried to break free from the hold, but I couldn’t. I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist and it pull me tightly against a hard surface. I struggled to get away but it was no use, the arm was so strong, it didn’t even budge.

I knew it was man at this point and I felt him squeeze my hand tightly, until I dropped the knife. I was sobbing uncontrollably, as I continued to thrash against the man behind me.

I tried to scream out and he used his hand to cover my mouth. That’s when, a familiar intoxicating scent hit me, it was almost calming which made no sense. I was being held against my will, why would the scent calm me? I couldn’t quite put my finger, on why I recognized the scent.

“Calm down Jessica.” The man holding me ordered, in a terrifying calm voice. I knew instantly who it was when I heard his voice, it was Alpha Colton.

“If you stop struggling and screaming, I’ll release you.” He said calmly. How could he be so calm, in a situation like this. He must kidnap people all the time, I thought to myself.

I stopped struggling and after a minute, I felt him slowly remove him hand from my mouth.

“Wh-what are y-ou?” I asked in a shaky voice, while turning my head to look at Alpha Colton. He had a concerned frown on his face, when his eyes met mine.

“I’ll explain every thing when you wake up. Just know, I’m doing this to keep you safe.” He said and I could see so many emotions within his eyes, regret, concern, frustration and is that desire?

I didn’t have time to think much of it, because the next think i knew, I felt something prick the skin on my neck and everything went black, before my body fell limp in Alpha Colton’s arms.
