The Mysterious Luna
Chapter 76

Jessica POV

We had to push my Luna ceremony back a couple of weeks, since I wanted my mother and Alpha Peter to be present. Colton wasn’t happy about waiting, he was a little grumbly, but I knew deep down inside he understood.

Today was finally the day and I couldn’t be any happier. I rolled out of bed and hopped in the shower. I had these weird butterflies in my stomach, probably because of how excited I was to officially become the Luna. Everyone already accepted me, but this was kind of like a wedding for werewolves.

I got out of the shower and dried myself off with a towel, before wrapping it around my body. Colton had already left the room earlier, mumbling on about all the last minute things that needed to get done. He was so cute when frazzled. I laughed to myself, just thinking about how he looked like a chicken with its head cut off these past few days.

I was brought out of my thoughts when there was a knock at the door. Before I could answer, it was thrown open and Sam barged in.

“Let’s get this partayyy started.” She chirped excitedly.

She made her way over to the bed and threw down a garment bag and a makeup pouch.

“I think it’s a little early to start getting ready, don’t you?” I said, while rolling my eyes at the overly excited Sam.

“Nonsense. I’m going to need A LOT of time to transform you into a beauty.” She teased, earning her a slap on the arm.

“I don’t want you going overboard, I plan on keeping it simple.” I replied, causing her to roll her eyes again.

“You sure you still want to go through with this? It’s your last chance, after tonight you’ll officially be that broody Alpha’s Luna.” She asked in a serious tone, but I could tell she was joking.

“Broody? Colton is not broody.” I argued, while throwing on a pair of leggings and a dark pink tank top.

“Ok, he’s not as bad now, but do you remember when we first got here? The guy walked around with a permanent frown on his face. He reminded me of the terminator, robotic and scary.” Sam joked and I couldn’t help but burst out laugh. She’s not wrong, Colton was definitely a bit on the serious and grumpy side.

“I guess I brought out his fun side.” I replied proudly, while shrugging my shoulders.

“Ok, let’s not stretch the truth, fun, is definitely not a word I think of when I see Colton. I still practically have a heart attack every time I see the man smile. But yes, I’ll admit he’s chance after meeting you.” She confessed.

We sat on the bed and chatted a bunch, before ordering lunch to the room. It was nice, I feel like Sam and I haven’t had a lot of time to catch up lately. There’s just been so much going on.

We were brought out of our chat, when there was a knock at the door.

“Come in” I announced.

The door open and a young she-wolf came into the room, pushing a cart of food with her. I recognized her as one of the omegas that worked in the kitchen, Jen.

“Luna, I have your lunch. Where should I put it?” She asked, while lowering her head in submission.

“Thank you, Jen. You can leave it by the coffee table.” I replied, while smiling at the young girl.

She pushed the cart over to the lounge area, before turning towards us.

“Do you need anything else, Luna?” She asked politely.

“No that’s everything. Thank you.” I replied and she bowed before leaving the room.

“Yes! I’m so hungry.” Sam blurted out, while practically running over to the cart and picking up half of a club sandwich and stuffing it into her face.

Jessica POV

We had to push my Luna ceremony back a couple of weeks, since I wanted my mother and Alpha Peter to be present. Colton wasn’t happy about waiting, he was a little grumbly, but I knew deep down inside he understood.

“Someone’s hungry.” I teased and her face looked slightly sheepish.

“I missed breakfast.” She replied, while shrugging her shoulders.

“How about we have a couple mimosas, without the orange juice to officially get this party started.” I suggested, while taking the bottle of champagne out of the ice bucket and popping the cork.

“It’s a little early don’t you think?” She questioned, giving me a judgement look. I was slightly confused, out of the two of us, she was definitely the only that would be all over having a drink with lunch.

“It’s just a mimosa. It’s a brunch drink.” I argued, while pouring two mimosas, without orange juice.

“I’m good with water.” Sam replied, nervously, while looking everywhere but at me. Now I knew something was up, nothing made Sam act like this, especially not day drinking.

“What’s up Sam?” I asked suspiciously, while crossing my arms over my chest.

“Nothing, I’m not really into day drinking.” She replied with a shrug, while still avoiding eye contact.

“Bullshit! You’re the queen of day drinking.” I spat out, with a chuckle.

“Fine, I’m pregnant.” She blurted, with a heavy sigh.

“Oh my goddess! No way! That’s amazing! congratulations!” I squealed excitedly, while giving her a bone crushing hug.

“Sorry, I didn’t want to bring it up today. It’s suppose to be all about you, I don’t want to ruin it for you.” She said in a more serious tone.

“Don’t you dare apologize. I can’t believe I practically had to beat it out of you.” I replied.

“I just found out yesterday. I was going to tell you tomorrow, I just didn’t want to take any attention away from you.” She confessed.

“Seriously, you know me better than that. I don’t care for attention, you’re my best friend, I should of heard about this news before Josh.” I joked and we both chuckled.

“How far along are you?” I asked curiously.

“4 weeks. I’m not going to lie, I’m terrified. Like, what the hell is growing inside of me? Is it going to come out looking like a wolf or a human? Why is my pregnancy only going to be six months? Can I push a wolf out of my v****a?” She blurted out question after question, while pacing around my room.

“Settle down, Sam. I’m sure the doctor answered those questions already.” I replied, while putting my hands on both her shoulders and making her look at me.

“He did, but I still can’t stop wondering what the hell I got myself into. There’s a damn wolf pup growing in my belly.” She replied, while shaking her head in disbelief.

“The baby won’t turn into a wolf until it turns 16, so it’s just like a normal pregnancy.” I reassured her.

“Why 6 months then?” She asked, while crossing her arms over her chest and popping her h*p.

“Werewolves grow a bit faster, but I promise you’ll be fine.” I replied.

“How the hell do you know? You haven’t popped a werewolf out of your vaj before.” She argued and I really didn’t have a reply to that. She was right, I have no clue what birthing a werewolf is like. Ya, I heard stories, but other than that I have no clue.

“How did Josh react when he found out?” I asked, deflecting her last statement.

“Oh goddess, he was like a little kid in a candy store. I swear he’s half fairy by the way he fluttered around the hospital room.” She joked, just as I took a sip of water. I literally sprayed water out of my nose at her words.

“I can totally picture it.” I laughed and she shook her head.

“Ok, enough about me. Let’s beautify you.” Sam said excited, while clapping her hands together.

“Remember, I don’t want anything fancy.” I warned and she once again rolled her eyes at me.

“Show me your dress, I’ll decided what happens with the makeup after that.” She replied sternly.

I walked into the closet and pulled out my dress. I absolutely love the dress I picked for the night. It’s a floor length emerald green colour, strapless with a sweetheart neckline. The upper half hugs my body and the bottom half flows loosely.

“I love it!!!” Sam squealed, when her eyes landed on the dress I was holding.

“It’s pretty fancy, that’s why I want to keep my makeup simple.” I replied.

“Ya, ya. Sit down.” Sam ordered, in her classy bossy tone. I rolled my eyes, but did as she asked.

She did my makeup and it only took her a half an hour. I knew Sam wouldn’t overdue it. She knows what I like and I trusted her.

“Done.” She announced, while standing back and admiring her handy work.

I stood up from the chair and made my way into the bathroom to look in the mirror. I gasped when I saw my reflection. The makeup was perfect and definitely wasn’t over the top. She added a smokey eyeshadow, with a winged eyeliner, my cheeks were a natural looking rose colour and my lips were coated in a clear gloss. Everything made my emerald green eyes pop.

“Wow, it’s perfect Sam. Thank you.” I said, while continuing to look myself in the mirror.

“I’m amazing.” She replied proudly, causing me to laugh at her cockiness.

We finished getting ready. Sam was wearing a gold coloured floor length dress, that had spaghetti straps and a plunge neckline. The dressed was fitted all the way through and had a slit up her left thigh. The colour went well with her blonde hair and made her blue eyes pop.

“Well, I’d say we’ve done good.” She said, while standing beside me in front of the mirror and we both took a minute to admire ourselves.

We snapped out of our moment, when there was a knock at the door.

“Come in.” I announced, before the door opened and Josh walked in. He looked handsome in a black suit with a black and gold coloured tie.

“Wow… You ladies look stunning.” He gushed, but his eyes were locked on Sam. I saw her blush, as he stalked towards her and kissed her passionately.

“Get a room.” I teased, while pretending to gag.

“Sorry Luna, you might want to look away for another minute.” Josh replied, while barely releasing Sam’s lips.

“Don’t worry, I’ll wait in the hall.” I grumbled, causing them both to laugh.

“Enough or that. You’ll ruin my makeup. Save it for the after party.” Sam teased, while winking at Josh.

“Fine. Alpha Grump is impatiently waiting anyway.” Josh sighed, causing Sam and I to laugh.

We made our way down to the main floor and as I descended the last few steps, my eyes landed on Colton. He was waiting at the bottom looking sexy as hell, with his arms crossed over his chest. He had a black suit on with a tie that matched my dress. I instantly felt my core throbbed, as a wave of arousal flooded through me.

“Wow, you look beautiful.” He gushed and I could see the l**t swirling in his eyes.

“You don’t look so bad yourself, Alpha.” I replied, in a seductive voice, before kissing him passionately. He growled and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me tightly against him.

The butterflies started acting up in my stomach again and I wasn’t sure if it was because I was nervous or anxious to finally become the official Luna.
