Chapter 77

Alpha Colton POV

I had been running around all day, making sure everything was in order for the Luna ceremony. I just wanted everything to be perfect. This day was so important for us.

I was heading to the dinner hall to make sure everything was in order, when I ran into Josh.

“Hey boss, you look stressed.” He said, while following me towards the hall.

“There’s still so much to do. The ceremony’s suppose to start in an hour.” I replied, sounding a little frazzled.

We walked into the hall and there were several omegas working inside trying to get everything ready. Every table had a white table cloth and was already set with plates and glasses. I noticed that some of the centre pieces had 5 roses, while others had 6.

“Why don’t all the centre pieces have the same amount of flowered?” I shouted to no one in particular.

“Mmmmm, Alpha? Since when did event planning become your second job?” Josh asked and I glanced over at him to see a surprised, yet amused look on his face. That’s when I realized how stupid I had just sounded.

“Shut up. I just want it to be perfect.” I shot back.

“You run one of the biggest packs in the country, well if I might add. Yet here you are worried that some centre pieces only have 5 flowers instead of 6.” Josh continued in a mocking tone.

“Serious, are you just here to irritate me?” I grumbled.

“No, but it certainly makes it more fun.” Josh replied with a shoulder shrug.

We finished getting everything ready and it was almost time to start. Jess mind-linked me that her and Sam were on their way down, so Josh and I went to the base of the stairs to wait for them.

As soon as my eyes landed on Jess walking down the stairs, my heart beat quickened. She looked absolutely stunning. The dress she was wearing fit her perfectly and made the colour of her eyes stand out. My wolf was howling in excited in my head, practically chatting the word, mine.

“Wow, you look beautiful.” I said, when she finally reached the bottom. I was trying not to drool at the sight of my beautiful temptress.

“You don’t look so bad yourself, Alpha.” She replied, in a seductive tone that had my c**k twitching. This woman has me wrapped around her little finger and she doesn’t even know it.

We kissed and if it wasn’t for Josh clearing his throat to get our attention, I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t of stopped.

“It took me years to get her makeup right. Don’t you be ruining it Mr.” Sam threatened, making Jess giggle. I raised an eyebrow at her, but decided not to reply.

“Shall we head into the hall?” I asked, while offering Jess my arm. She nodded before taking it.

The hall was now full of pack members. There was a stage at the front, where one of our elders stood ready to conduct the ceremony.

“Good luck, I’ll see you after the ceremony.” Sam said to Jess before giving her a hug.

“Thank you.” Jess replied, sounding a little nervous.

Josh shook my hand, before following his mate further into the crowd. I was about to lead Jess to the stage, when her mother’s voice stopped me.

“Oh my goddess, you look beautiful princess.” She gushed, before hugging Jess.

“It’s true, you look beautiful.” Alpha Peter added, before also hugging Jess.

“Thank you guys and thanks for coming tonight.” Jess said.

Alpha Colton POV

I had been running around all day, making sure everything was in order for the Luna ceremony. I just wanted everything to be perfect. This day was so important for us.

“Are you crazy? I wouldn’t miss this for the world. It’s not everyday that your baby girl becomes the Luna of a pack.” Her mother said proudly.

“Colton, congratulations.” Peter said, before shaking my hand.

“Thank you.” I replied.

Once we were done greeting Beth and Peter, we made our way to the front and onto the raised stage.

“Don’t be nervous. Everyone already loves you, you’ll do great.” I said reassuringly when I saw how nervous Jess looked.

“Thanks, I just can’t believe this is finally happening. I feel like we’ve been fighting a never ending battle, but it’s finally come to an end and we can move on with our lives. I guess it just feels surreal.” She confessed.

“We won that battle and now we get to enjoy our future together.” I replied and she smiled at me.

“Alpha, Luna. Are you ready to get started?” The elder named Ken, asked.

“We are.” I replied with a nod.

“Great. Luna, could you please stand right here and Alpha I need you on that side.” He instructed, while motioning to where he wanted us to stand.

We followed his instructions and waited for more.

“Silence, we will begin the ceremony.” The elder announced and the room went quiet.

“We are here tonight to welcome Luna Jessica into our pack as the official Luna.” Ken explained and the crowd cheered momentarily, before going silent to allow him to continue.

“Alpha Colton, do you accept Luna Jessica as your mate and Luna?” Ken asked, turning his attention to me.

“I do.” I replied and he nodded, before turning his attention to Jess.

“Luna Jessica, do you accept Alpha Colton as your mate and Alpha?” Ken asked.

“I do.” She replied.

“And do you, Luna Jessica, accept the Luna title of the Fort knight pack?” He continued.

“Yes, I do.” She replied.

“Finally, do you pledge your loyalty to the pack and promise to protect it with your life?” He asked.

“I do.” Jess replied proudly.

“Then it’s official. I would like to introduce to everyone, our new Luna, Luna Jessica.” Ken announced and the crowd went wild. Some were cheering, while others were whistling.

Jess was smiling and looking at the crowd. However, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was radiating with confidence and elegance. She was the perfect Luna in my eyes.

“Congratulations, Luna.” The elder said, before giving her a hug and walking off the stage.

“Luna, shall we go mingle with your pack?” I suggested, while holding out my hand for her.

“Sure.” She replied with a smile, before taking it and following me off the stage.

The evening flew by. I barely got to see my mate. She was whisked away and everyone wanted a chance to speak with her. I was a little jealous, I couldn’t wait to have her attention. But today was all about her, so I waited patiently for her to make her rounds through the crowd.

Finally after a couple hours, I saw Jess talking with only Josh and Sam. I didn’t care if they got a chance to spend time with her. They get to see her whenever they want, so I felt no guilt when I walked up Jess and asked her to dance. Sam grumbled a bit under her breath, but Jess seemed happy that I took her away.

I pulled her into the middle of the dance floor and grabbed one of her hands in mine, while my other snaked around her waist and pulled her against my body. We started moving slowly to music, while I looked into my beautiful mates eyes.

“Are you enjoying your night?” I asked.

“It’s been amazing. I’m completely exhausted though. I’ve never talked so much in my life.” She joked.

“Everyone was eager to have sometime to talk with their Luna. I can’t blame them.” I replied.

“I barely saw you tonight, where were you hiding?” She asked curiously.

“I stayed in the shadows and watched my beautiful Luna make her rounds in the crowd. I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy staying away from you tonight. Especially looking like you do.” I replied and she blushed.

“Did you talk to Josh at all today?” She asked.

“No, why?” I replied with a curious frown.

“Sam’s pregnant.” She said, with an excited smile.

“Wow, that’s great news. I wonder why that butthead wouldn’t of told me?” I asked.

“They didn’t want to take away from our night, they only found out a day ago.” Jess replied and that made sense. I guess I won’t beat him up for keeping that kind of news from me.

“Is Sam excited?” I asked. It must be a little nerve racking for her, since her baby is going to be a werewolf. Our pregnancies are similar, but there are still a few things that happen differently.

“She is, but definitely nervous. I bet she’s going to be a handful while pregnant.” Jess joked, but their was truth to her words. Sam’s already a handful, add some hormones to the mix and I actually feel a little bad for Josh. Scratch that, after him poking fun at me today, I don’t feel bad at all.

We danced a couple more songs before making our way over to join Josh and Sam.

“You a*****e! Confrontations.” I said, before shaking Josh’s hand. He looked surprised for a second, but when he realized what I was congratulating him for, a big smile spread on his face.

“Thanks, man.” He replied proudly.

“Congratulations, Sam.” I said, before hugging the little firecracker.

“Thanks, but let’s not get overly excited yet. I still need to get a werewolf out of my body somehow, before we celebrate.” She grumbled, but I could tell she was excited.

“It’s been a long night, I think It’s time for us to call it a night.” I announced.

“Yes, I can’t wait to slip out of this dress and climb into bed.” Jess g*****d.

“Well, you’re going to have to wait a little while longer, because we’re leaving tonight. Sam packed a bag for you already and the cars waiting out front.” I informed her.

“What? Where are we going?” She asked, looking confused.

“I told you that I was taking you away. Why wait till morning?” I said with a shrug.

“Sam, you knew about this?” She asked, turning her attention to Sam.

“Of course I did. Who do you think packed your bag? Oh and Colton, you can thank me later for the little lacy piece I threw in there.” Sam replied throwing me a wink.

“Let’s get out of here, shall we?” I suggested, while putting my hand on the small of her back and guiding her towards the exit.

The look on her face was priceless. She had no idea and that’s the best part.

I can’t wait to finally have her alone for a few days.
