The Rejected Alpha Wolf
TWENTY-LEAVING FOR WIND HOWLER PACK

Carissa POV

Patrick had stayed an extra four days with me at Blue Eclipse. To say it was worth getting to know him more is an understatement. Patrick is a true gentleman. His Irish accent adds to his hotness.

On the second day, Ace invited him to a training session, and I stood back and watched when Patrick took his shirt off. I nearly lost it. He had a fantastic body, his six-pack was domineering, and I had to growl to keep the ogling she-wolves away from my mate, but Patrick only had eyes for me.

We haven't mated yet. Patrick understood my pain and told me we could move our relationship at my pace. He said there was no rush in our mating. But we did let our wolves meet.

Partick's wolf, Phelan, is a gorgeous dark-red color with the same dark green eyes, compared to Catori, who is a silver color and has sapphire blue eyes. Patrick said he's never seen a silver wolf before, and I let it slip that the ranked members of Blue Eclipse are unique.

I let Patrick meet my parents and other siblings. Dad was skeptical, and it took some time for him to warm up to Patrick, but Mom was instantly smitten with him. She asked him all kinds of questions about his family and pack. I was packing my bags and finishing the process when a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in," I called out, and Patrick entered my room. Catori howled delightfully at seeing our mate as I smiled at him.

"Hello, Carissa, almost ready?" he asked, and I nodded.

"Let me help you with those, darling."

"A woman should never carry her luggage," Patrick said as I smiled.

When I sniffed Patrick's accent, my panties were instantly wet. Catori had hearty eyes and was drooling at the scent of our mate. After Patrick grabbed my bags and suitcases for me, we exited my bedroom and headed toward the front of the house. Once we made it to the living room, where my parents and younger siblings were waiting, I saw my Mom had tears in her eyes, and my Dad seemed like he wanted to cry, but he held his emotions in check.

"Oh, my baby, you're leaving me again," my Mom said, sobbing.

"Mom," I grumbled as she hugged me tightly. I looked over at my Dad as he sighed and opened his arms.

"Take care of yourself, princess, and call us daily."

"I mean it!" he shouted and made me chuckle.

"I promise, Dad," I said, kissing his cheek as he released me.

"I'll take good care of her. That's a promise," Patrick told my parents.

"I'll hold you to that, Alpha Patrick," my Dad glared at Patrick as he let out a light chuckle.

Dad wasn't the Beta anymore but still had an intense aura when necessary. I hugged my younger siblings and told them I loved them. After saying my goodbyes, I returned to Patrick and held his hand as we left my parent's house. Patrick called his warriors to come to get us and sent his Beta Ryan back to Wind Howler with his roadster.

After Patrick and I climbed into his SUV, followed by two more, we headed toward the front of the castle, where I saw my brother and other friends standing out front waiting for us. Patrick instructed his warrior to pull over so we could say goodbye.

"Look there, Carissa. Your family wants to say goodbye," I smiled and kissed Patrick's cheek as the SUV stopped, and we both exited.

After getting out, my brother was the first to hug me. Although Carlito and I have been close since the womb, twins have a unique bond, and our wolves have a unique one. Czar and Catori can mind-link and feel each other's emotions. We may look and act differently, but we are alike in some ways.

"I'll miss you, little tot," my brother said, and I smacked his arm as he chuckled.

"I'll miss you more, tater," I said and stuck my tongue out. I said goodbye to Ace, Rachel, Chloe, Amber, Julio, and everyone else as Patrick came over and shook Ace's hand.

"I'll miss you guys," I told them as I tried to hold my tears in.

After wiping my eyes, Patrick and I returned to the SUV as the warrior drove toward the front gate. I turned and waved again to my family as they started becoming little dots in the distance.

Patrick POV

Once we were back on the road heading toward Wind Howler, I turned to my gorgeous mate and heard her sigh. I knew she would miss her family. I had a bit of a surprise for her. I wanted to wait until we got to Wind Howler, but what the hell? I'll tell her now. My wolf agreed that we should also tell her, so I got the courage, grabbed her little hand, and got her attention.

"Carissa, I have some news to share with you."

"While this bloody drive will take us about four hours to get to Wind Howler," I said as she looked into my eyes.

"I was talking to Ace a few days ago, and I told him how I admired the land and forest that surrounded his pack," I said as she looked at me with great intent, so I continued.

"I also told the lad I admired his grand castle and wanted something like that for my pack."

"Wind Howler is surrounded by city folk, and there's not much forest left to keep me packed, hidden away from humans," I saw her eyes sparkle, and she perked up and waited for the next thing I was about to tell her.

"What I'm trying to say, Carissa is that. I found a nice property between Blue Eclipse and Crescent Moon."

It's over twenty thousand acres and perfect for us and our pack to reside."

"Forest, ponds, and wildlife surround it," I said. Carissa smiled and squeezed my hand.

"So, I take it that you brought it?" she asked, and I nodded.

"I plan on moving there once the pack house is complete. Ace had one of his construction crews survey the land and implement the plans."

"I spent a few extra days reviewing details and getting things started," I said, hearing her squeal and wrapping her arms around my neck as she passionately kissed my lips.

"Patrick, that makes me so happy. I can be closer to my family, and the pack has a nice forest to run through and chase wildlife."

"Without worrying about humans hiking through the forest and seeing us," She smiled and kissed my lips again. I purred with delight as she tasted sweet, and I couldn't get enough.

"What does the pack think about moving?" she asked as I stared at her.

"Well, Carissa, that's one thing we will discuss once we return to Wind Howler," I said.

She looked confused, so I explained that I would introduce her to the pack as my Luna and then get to the part about moving the pack to a more secluded territory. Carissa was all for it and ready to see our pack.

I wanted to move the pack since the city started expanding and building more work areas and shopping malls. When you're an Alpha of four thousand pack members, it would be best to consider what is best for your pack. Moving seems the best idea right now. Carissa laid her head on my shoulder and yawned as I chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

"Rest now, Carissa. We still have three more hours before we reach the pack," I whispered, running my fingers through her soft hair.

Four Hours Later: (Still Patrick's POV)

"Carissa, wake up, darling. We are here," I whispered in my little lass's ear as she yawned and slowly opened her eyes.

She stretched her limbs and looked out the side window of the SUV. I watched with interest as she gasped and looked back at me.

"Patrick, your pack looks amazing." I chuckled and stroked her cheek.

"Our pack, little lass," I said as she leaned into my touch and sighed contently.

My warrior pulled up to the pack house. I heard Carissa let out another gasp as the pack house came into view. It wasn't a castle by any means, and at four stories high, it suited us for the time being. I saw my Gamma Colin standing on the steps with his mate Fiona and my, Beta Ryan, waiting for our arrival.

"Come, darling, let me introduce you to the ranked members of Wind Howler," she smiled as I stepped out of the SUV and held my hand out for hers.

She grabbed my hand gently and stepped out. We walked up the steps and greeted everyone.

"Carissa, you already know my Beta Ryan."

"This is my Gamma Colin and his mate Fiona."

"This is the Delta, Ronan."

"This is Flynn, Sean, and Conor," I watched as she spoke to everyone and shook their hands, introducing herself.

"Lads and lass, meet your new Luna and my mate Carissa Hernandes."

"Daughter of the former Beta of the Blue Eclipse pack, Carter Hernandes," I watched as their eyes widened. Everyone clapped and howled.

"Welcome, Luna Carissa," everyone present greeted Carissa as the Luna of the pack.

After all the greetings and getting to know each other, I called for a short pack meeting behind the pack house. All four thousand members, including women, children, and elders, were present.

"Wind Howler pack as your Alpha. I recently acquired some land north of here near Blue Eclipse and Crescent Moon packs."

"I want all your opinions about us moving, having more land, and protection within the forest."

"This isn't just about me. This is about us as a pack, and I want to know how you all would feel if we moved and established a better connection with more packs," I announced to the pack.

I watched as everyone whispered to each other and looked over at Carissa as we waited with bated breaths.

"Alpha?" I turn to the voice and nod for the gentleman to speak.

"Who is that young lass?" he asks as I smile.

"Wind Howler, this young lass, next to me, is your Luna and my mate Carissa Hernandes," I say and hear the gasp and whispers.

"Is the land lush and green?"

"Is there a forest?" Another member asks.

"Yes, there is plenty of forest and wildlife."

"I have explored the land and found ponds and a vast lake."

"The pack house is already being built. It is more than we could have ever hoped for."

"A home where our families and wolves can feel safe, a place where humans won't dare to venture because trees and the fresh breeze of nature will surround us," I told my pack as everyone howled and cheered.

After everything was said and done, the pack voted yes. I smiled with pride that my pack was happy about moving to a better location and starting a new. I watched some members come to greet their new Luna. Phelan howled with pride and puffed out his chest.
