Chapter 124
Oneida curled her lips and patted Edmund on the shoulder. "Of course. How about you? Have you studied hard?"
The corner of his lips twitched as Edmund wore a helpless and and expression. "Of course... But Grade 12, you know, no matter how much I study, it's never enough."
While they were catching up, sudden footsteps sounded at the door.
It turned out that Tatiana and Jennifer had just returned froin shopping.
Both of them were stunned when they saw Oneida's face.
"Why is she here?" Tatiana glanced at Lucas and muttered in a dissatisfied tone.
"Ida is our daughter, after all, and a member of our family. This dinner must also include her," Lucas explained gently as he frowned.
However, Tatiana's eyes turned cold, and interrupted, "Daughters that had been married to another family are considered outcasts. She doesn't need to be coming back to her parent's house for no reason." "You..." Lucas immediately let out a deep sigh. He knew that whatever he said, he was no match against Tatiana.
He turned to look at Oneida's face, afraid that she would feel upset.
Unexpectedly, Oneida's expression remained unwavering. She remained composed, with no hint of peculiarity on her face.
"Oneida." Jennifer pretended to be confused and grinned. "Where is your husband? Why didn't he come?"
Oneida glanced at her.
"He never likes to go out or socialize," she said.

Still donning a grin on her face, Jennifer responded, "Well... Then you should persuade him so that he doesn't get bored. He should at least come out and see your family members, right?"
"There's nothing to see," Tatiana smirked. "He's just a man who doesn't dare to see anyone. He's disabled and ugly... And I wouldn't want to see him even if he came. What if I was frightened by him and had nightmares?" Listening to her mother's mockery, Jennifer grinned without saying a word.
Oneida, on the other hand, clenched her fists subconsciously.
She couldn't stand the two for insulting Jackson, one openly and the other covertly.
Her gaze instantly became icier.
"That's enough!" Just then, Lucas suddenly voiced out, wearing an unusually serious expression on his face. Staring Tatiana and Jennifer, he' warned, "Can the both of you stop talking?"
Tatiana snorted and retorted, "It's my mouth. Why can't I speak about it?"
at
"Dad, as you know, Mom is straightforward and always has something to say," Jennifer said, hoping to ease the tension. However, her words were laced with insinuations.
The corner of Oneida's lips curled into a sneer.
"Can you
all stop talking about this?" At this moment, even Edmund couldn't stand it anymore. His expression darkened,

furrowing his brows. The reason Oneida married such a person in the first place was all because of your
Edmund glared at Tatiana and Jennifer with burning eyes and nicked, "You all know very well who should have been married into the Bane family in the first place. How dare you start ridiculing Oneida? Both Tatiana and Jennifer paused when they heard this.
They pursed their lips and stopped talking.
"Well, it's almost time, Lucas urged. "We have to go to the manor as soon as possible. It's not good to be late.
Oneida walked out first after hearing this, leaving everyone behind.
The family of five swiftly arrived at the Chaser manor.
At the gate of the manor, two red lanterns were hung, which was rare.
It was a festive occasion.
Seeing the big lanterns at the door, Tatiana couldn't help complaining, "What in the world could this big news be? Such a grand display. I've never seen it before."
Of course, she would feel envious.
After all, Lucas was not treated to such an extent by Nathan and Hazel. Their whole family had been disregarded.
But Mateo's family was different. They had always been influential.
Now, they went to such lengths to call everyone here just to listen to Yuliana's good news.
The whole family rushed here just to accompany Yuliana. The thought of that made Tatiana feel frustrated.
"Maybe something good really did happen," Lucas said with a smile and didn't think too much about it.
Tatiana turned around and looked at her weak husband. She could only feel disgusted.
She couldn't believe she married such a loser.
She clenched her fists. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
Then they walked into the gate.
The manor was filled with a lively atmosphere. Almost everyone had arrived except for the eldest son, Liam, and his family, who were staying abroad.
Of course, Mateo and Janet were there too.
The twins William and Wyatt had also rushed over.
Yuliana and Rachel even dressed up for the occasion.
Especially Yuliana. She was the main character and the center of attention at today's family dinner. She even wore a crown with diamonds on her head. She looked like a noble princess, elegant and graceful.
The crown was one of the pieces of jewelry handed down by the Chaser family.
It was very valuable and had always been kept and preserved by Hazel.

Seeing Yuliana being socapable, she simply handed this crown Yuliana.
Tatiana and Jennifer noticed the crown above Yuliana's head.
Tatiana thought, "How could she hand this crown to Yuliana?"
Previously, they wanted to borrow it from Hazel but were refusel.
She couldn't believe her eyes.
Tatiana gritted her teeth, feeling upset and furious.
Jennifer was feeling the same too,
Although she was accustomed to Yuliana being favored over her the fact that Hazel would pass the crown to her left her in disbelief. She subconsciously clenched her fists.
Jealousy started to creep in.
On the other hand, Oneida was composed, wearing a tranquil expression. It was as if she wasn't present in the situation.
"You're here." Seeing Lucas and his family, Mateo casually greeted them without showing any enthusiasm.
Nathan and Hazel surrounded Yuliana and had no time to bother with Lucas and his family.
Lucas and Tatiana felt a little embarrassed.
"Oneida, you came?" Yuliana suddenly noticed Oneida at the door and looked at her with a smirk. "It's been a long time." But in fact, they had just recently met.
Because of Charles.
The thought of Oneida, who seemed to have a close relationship with Charles, made her feel jealous and infuriated.
"After taking all the trouble to come here, you must be feeling tired," Yuliana continued, then sighed hypocritically. "It's all because of me..."
Oneida turned her gaze to Yuliana.
She stared at her silently and didn't say a word.
"Are you mute?" Nathan couldn't stand it anymore. He frowned, anger smoldering in his eyes. "Yuli is greeting you. You should at least answer her! What a rude person!" "Grandpa..." Yuliana immediately said, "Today is a good day. Don't be upset. It's not good for your health."
Nathan's anger seemed to dissipate when he heard Yuliana's words.
Among his four granddaughters, Yuliana was indeed the only one who looked like him and was the most outstanding.
With that in his mind, the more he looked at Oneida, the more unpleasant he became.
He threw an icy glare at Oneida and wore a stern expression on his face. "Why are you still silent? Hurry up and say hello to Yuli!"
