Ethan's POV

I'm excited that everything is going well between me and Phoebe, and I'm also happy she appreciates everything I do to make her happy, finally I can have her by my side even if she rejects me by holding her down with a contract. She took the Golden spoon with her. It's a sign that she cherishes my efforts and I'm glad, and I feel like I'm doing the right thing for once in my life.

I have some questions to ask her but since I'll be spending the day with her there is no need to scare her or throw all my questions on her face.

We had a good time and I pleaded for her to follow me home so we could spend the day together, she agreed and we were heading to my car when she said she wanted to use the toilet, she's been out for five minutes and panic has started kicking in.

Could this be her way to dodge me again? I don't think she will because she doesn't know the company yet.

While I'm waiting for her to come, I spot my friend Jude coming out of the restaurant with a lady clinging to his arm, my Best Friend in college.

"Hey buddy," he greets me, I smile at him, "Hey man how are you doing?"

"I'm good, without asking I can see you're good too," he remarks.

"Yeah, I must say....what are you doing in Georgia?" I asked him, surprised he was with a woman, I never really saw him with a woman before, he said he only loved one girl and she broke up with him, so he hardly found another woman attractive.

"Actually, this is where my parents lived originally and since my father passed I've been asked to take on the family business," he says, letting out a deep breath.

"I see, that's nice,"

"What about you, why are you here?" He asks me, my thoughts run to Phoebe again and I look back to see if she's coming but she isn't. I heard women take a lot of time in the toilet but I'm getting worried. "Umm..... I'm here with my girlfriend, she said she wanted to use the toilet," I say.

"Women things," he said, smiling and I smiled back too.

"She should be out any minute," I say looking at my Patek watch.

"Alright man, see you around, let me go catch up with other things I have to do for the day," he says, shaking me, we exchange contacts afterwards he moves to his car and drives off.

I look back at my driver. Ray notices my uneasiness, "Boss should I go look for her?" He asked me.

I hesitate for a moment but I can't help but wonder why she's taking so much time in the toilet.

"Go check for her, maybe something isn't right," I ordered him.

But he doesn't take much steps from where we were standing and I see Phoebe coming, he also sees her coming and he stops in his tracks.

She walks up to me and smiles and I wanted to ask her why she took so much time but her beautiful smile got me tripping. Maybe I could ask her on our way home so I decided to shove it off.

"Sorry if I took so much time," she apologizes, "it's alright, Let's go," I say, opening the back seat for her.

She gets in and I close it, I don't miss the surprised look on Ray's face as I turn to circle the car.

He rushes the driver's seat while I join Phoebe at the back.

I and Phoebe maintain a distance at the back seat, I steal glances at her and she looks lost in thought, I wonder what might be bothering her.

The silence between us is tense, so I decided to break the silence, "Hey, Are you alright?" I say touching her hand that was on her lap.

She comes back to her conscious state, "Yeah, I am," she replies.

I don't know why but I noticed Phoebe is reserved around me, maybe it's because we are still getting to know each other, I thought to myself.

"You took so much time when you went to use the restroom, Did anything happen?" I ask her, maybe something happened and she doesn't know how to talk to me about it. Maybe engaging her in a conversation will make her tell me what's bothering her.

"Oh! Did I? I didn't realize I wasted so much time, I didn't know where the restroom was. It took me time to replace it." She explains.

As I turn to introduce her to Phoebe but she and Phoebe are in a staring competition, I clear my throat breaking the eerie silence of questions roaming in the atmosphere.

"Um.. Phoebe,this is my cousin, Kayla, she's here to stay for a while, her husband went on a business trip so she'll be staying till he is back," I say.

"Kayla, This is Phoebe," I get stuck in my words cause I don't know what to introduce Phoebe to my cousin as, "she umm...." I scratch my head in confusion, "She is my new Secretary, and she's also my friend," I stutter at my words.
