Chapter 224 Executing Marvin (Part Two)
Billy wielded his spear and aimed it at Austin. With his half level spearintent, Billy could transfer his energy to his spear and provide it with apowerful vital energy force. Dozens rays of spear-light emanated fromhis spear. Without wasting time, he ordered them to attack Austin.
It was the first time Austin was fighting Billy and his first time fightingsomeone who had comprehended spear intent. Austin began on theback foot, replaceing it difficult to deal with the spear-light that Billy hadsent at him. But as he had understood level two sword intent, he knewhe could defeat Billy with his understanding. Dodging the relentlessattacks of the spear-light, Austin began using his sword intent to dispelthem.
Meanwhile, Marvin's giant palm projections had also begun attackingAustin. Undaunted by the threats, Austin taunted Marvin, his voice fullof malice," Is that all you've got? You think you can kill me with thislittle trick? That's stupid of you. Let me show you what the true intent ofa fighter means.”
Austin threw his Spiritual Sense Flying Needle towards Marvin with allhis might. The needle found its mark and embedded itself into Marvin'shead. As the sharp, unbearable pain struck Marvin, the palm intentbetween himself and the palm projections was suspended. The vitalenergy swirling in his palms disappeared.
Applying his Wind-commanding Skill, Austin leapt up swiftly, his vitalenergy whirling around his legs. He dodged the attacks of the palmprojections and rushed towards Billy, skidding to a halt in front of him.Billy was still wielding his spear and attempting to attack Austin. Butbeing this close to Billy, Austin was immune to his half level spear intentas his own level two sword intent was protecting him from harm. Assnow was doomed to destruction at the appearance of burning hotsummer sunlight, so was the half level spear intent disintegratingbefore the level two sword intent.
Helpless in the face of Austin's power, Billy felt his spear turn heavierand heavier in his hand as the half level spear intent between him andhis spear gradually evaporated into nothingness.
At this point, Austin had gotten a clear understanding of theircapabilities so he didn't want to waste his time and energy by beatingaround the bush any longer. He decided to display all his vital energycultivation bases that belonged to the preliminary stage of the EarthRealm.
"I think you need to get a feeling of my Illusory Swordsmanship,” hesaid as he looked fixedly at Billy.
Austin began demonstrating his Illusory Swordsmanship, not oncetaking his eyes off the man in front of him. More than twenty rays ofcondensed sword radiance appeared from the clouds of sword aurathat gushed off the sword intent. Whirling and emanating a strong, golden light, the sword radiance shot straight at Billy.
Dumbstruck, Billy still strove to fend off the sword radiance using hisspear with all his might. The Dragon Winding Spear Skill was the besthe could perform, with which he could prick, sweep, cut, and blockanything much faster than usual. And this was certainly a situation thatdemanded it.
But since his spear intent was at a level that was way lower thanAustin's sword intent level, not to forget that he had fewer vital energycultivation bases than him, standing up to Austin's strike seemed like afutile exercise.
Marvin could have helped him, if he hadn't been struck by Austin'sSpiritual Sense Flying Needle. The pain in his head didn't allow him tofix his attention to the fight.
Billy had warded off most of the sword radiance using his DragonWinding Spear Skill. But it just wasn't enough. He missed a few andthey pierced his body from the front and emerged from his back. It wasas if real, tangible swords had gotten through him, holes appeared inhis body where those rays of sword radiance had pierced him andblood gushed over him like a thousand rivers.
There was no way Billy could recover from such piercing blows.
"Austin, since when have you had the cultivation base of the EarthRealm?"
Billy was only at level eight of the Energy Gathering Realm, which was arealm much inferior to the Earth Realm. But he wasn't silly. He couldrecognize Austin's true cultivation base. He had guessed it the minutethe sword radiance had appeared.
"What? He's in the Earth Realm?"
Marvin exclaimed, gaping at Austin in part-wonder and part-terror. Hehad managed to extricate the needle from himself and save himselffrom the devastating pain. But right now, Billy's mere words inflictedmore pain than that needle could ever have inflicted on him.
"I have been in the Earth Realm for a while,” Austin told Billy. "It's justthat your friend Marvin here is too stupid to sense it. Looks like you'remuch smarter than him. Anyway, it is too late because right now is theend of your life."
Austin unfolded his bodily movement skill. Billy knew that Austin wasgoing to strike him again, but he was so badly injured that he had noenergy left to try and run away from him.
A loud punch was heard.
Using his thousand-pound lifting strength, Austin thrust his fist intoBilly's chest.
Billy went flying backwards, the sound of his bones cracking clear in thesilent night.
Billy landed a few feet away and his body immediately went into acrouch, his muscles convulsing and mouth vomiting gusts of blood.
He was on the verge of death.
"How dare you kill a person of your own sect!"
Marvin's infuriated cry rang out. Knowing Austin’s true cultivation basewas hurtful enough, but losing Billy in this situation would inevitablybring him defeat in his final fight with Austin. He was terrified, but alsofurious.
Austin sneered contemptuously at Marvin's fear. "How ironic that youshould say that. Has it ever occurred to you when you were plotting tokill me, that I belong to the same sect as you? You sound horrified rightnow, but that's being a hypocrite. But listen, you don't have to beafraid. I'll make it quick for you."
The fight had come to its final point. With a shout, Austin leapt up intothe sky and summoned his skills at Illusory Swordsmanship. Murderouswill rose to its height and sword aura filled the atmosphere. The sword-light glinted blindingly behind Austin, looking like hundreds of goldendragons roaring around, waiting for his order. The level two swordintent had never been so clear and resolute before.
Austin released all of his vital energy. With the sword intent alreadypresent, Austin’s vital energy provided the Violet Royal Sword anenormous power that seemed unparalleled. The sword began to whirlat a speed that made it difficult for anyone to see its shape clearly. Itshot out of its initial trajectory and went full blast towards Marvin.
The sword-light followed and the strong whirl of the sword turned intoa small hurricane, obliterating every object that stood in its way toMarvin.
Marvin's face went deathly pale in terror. He knew that right now, hewas teetering on the border between life and death without much hopefor life. He stood up, reactivating his palm intent such that the giantpalm projections appeared once again around him. He had to stickeverything he had behind this throw. This was his only chance.Following his intention, the palm projections went forward and formeda shield around him, saving him from Austin's attack.
To his utmost disappointment though, the palm projections were nomatch for the sword-light. For as soon as the sword-light approachedthe palm projections, they became as vulnerable as paper before fireand the sword-light were able to easily penetrate them
The earthly yellow palm projections vanished like thick fog confrontedby the sudden appearance of the sun from behind layers of clouds. There was nothing shielding Marvin now. He was completelydefenseless.
It was how intents of fighters had always worked. Intent of superioritycould always suppress and destroy the intent of inferiority. In thisinstance, Austin’s level two sword intent had suppressed Marvin's palmintent and destroyed it.
After all of Marvin's palm projections had been destroyed, Austinordered his Violet Royal Sword towards Marvin. More than twenty raysof sword radiance followed and attacked Marvin from all directions.Every single ray of sword radiance carried Austin's vital energy forceand was powerful enough to injure Marvin.
At this point, Marvin released all of his vital energy too. He crowded allhis vital energy in his hands and demonstrated his Giant Magic Palm toits highest state. The giant palm projections appeared again and beganwarding off Austin's sword radiance.
The rumbling and clattering sound of the fight echoed in the quietnessof the night. The fight became more and more intense as minutespassed.
Rays of sword radiance strove to get through to Marvin, but wereblocked by the palm projections.
"What a relief! I bet you never saw this coming,” Austin mocked andburst into laughter.
He thought of their old days on Beast Mountain when all he seemed todo was run and hide from Marvin's hunt.
He also remembered being in the outer terrain of the Grand DesolationMountain and Marvin following him to try and kill him.
If Austin hadn't been able to escape every time, he would have diedseveral times over by now. But right now, contrary to whatever hadhappened in the past, Austin was attacking and Marvin was trying toescape. This was a scene that Austin had dreamed of many times, buthad never turned into reality until this moment.
"I am getting tired of playing with you. Can we just end this game?"Austin almost drawled.
Austin wielded his Violet Royal Sword once again. A new group oftwenty rays of sword radiance came out and attacked Marvin.
The danger that he was in did not allow Marvin to concentrate onanything else but the sword radiance. He used his Giant Magic Palmand fended off the sword radiance.
Austin wasn't one to take it to heart. Using his mind control skill, heextracted the red and the black daggers from his body. But the minutethey appeared, they disappeared again, flying straight towards Marvin.Marvin sensed it before it happened.
The daggers were dangerously close to Marvin, the blade tops pointingto his neck.
Much as he strove to ward off the daggers and as he had gathered allof his vital energy force in his palms, he did not have any other vitalenergy force left to withstand what the two daggers were about to doto him.
"I couldn't die. I should have killed you when I had the chance,” Marvinsaid quietly just before the daggers cut through his neck like lightningpiercing through a tree.
His head separated from his body and fell to the ground. Blood gushedout like an eerie spring as the beheaded body collapsed.
