The Supreme God of Martial Arts -
Chapter 56 The Vital Energy Stone
If one were to see things from the monkey's point of view, Austin wasonly at level six of Energy Gathering Realm with a weak spiritual soul, soit should have been a childish affair to take over his body. Forget abouttaking over his body, even defeating him should have been as easy aspie.
If it could eliminate Austin’s spiritual sense, it would become the newowner of his body. With a brand new healthy body, it could start anewin its cultivation path and soon perhaps could return to the GrandDesolation Mountain and take its revenge one day.
However, it realized that it was gravely at a disadvantage when fightingwith Austin’s soul. To its surprise, the soul of this mere mortal was muchstronger than its own. Perhaps this was because it had lost most of itsformer power and had been forced into Earth Realm.
Its disadvantage was noticed by Austin as well and he thought thatrevenge this time, would be best served hot!
Now, he could punish the little bastard for eating his vital energy.Sneering, he chided it, "Aha! Where's your confidence now?
You were quite confident just a while ago. Was it all just banter? Canyou do anything but show off and exaggerate? Didn't you just say thatyou can easily kill thousands of martial cultivators like me?"
It took just a short while to tip the scale completely in Austin's favour.Pinning the monkey down as the fight fell into his dominion, hepunched it furiously in the face multiple times.
The violent attack it had sustained had weakened the power of themonkey's soul quickly, and pretty soon, it was in extremely low spirits."Try to kill me like you said just now! Didn't you say you could do thatwithout striking a blow? Oh wait! With just a breath! Would you like toblow some air now?"
Austin teased as he continued with his beating.
He had been scared to death when this monkey had suddenlyappeared in his Elixir Field, so he was giving full vent to his grudgesnow that he was in dominion.
Finally giving up to Austin, the monkey suddenly shouted out withresentment.
"No! This is impossible! You are very low in your refining level, but yourspiritual sense is as strong as those in the Mysterious Realm. I can'tbelieve it!
I'm the Immortal Monkey King! I can't lose to a weak human scum likeyou!"
With one burst of what little energy that remained inside it, the monkeystruggled and pushed Austin's soul away. The latter lost his balance andfell headlong.
After it had managed to free itself, the monkey quickly jumped into acorner and tried to gather its strength.
“Maybe I could try my Spiritual Sense Flying Needle.
An idea appeared in Austin's mind. He controlled his spiritual powerand produced a flying needle which shot towards the monkey at anextremely high speed.
The monkey was shocked to see Austin's new attack. It had neverexpected that Austin would not only possess a strong soul but wouldalso have a grasp of spiritual-sense martial skills.
It decided to fight this fire with fire. A flying knife appeared in front ofthe monkey and collided with the flying needle.
The monkey had been a mighty creature before it had lost its power, soit was no surprise that it could also employ spiritual-sense martial skills. However, its skill could no longer achieve the same effect as in the past. The flying knife it had produced was knocked aside after it hit the flyingneedle, while the latter kept flying on its track for some distance beforeit vanished completely. Obviously, Austin was the one who hadprevailed in this round.
He sat down in the lotus position and shot out another flying needle. The monkey had no other choice but to repeat its previouscounterattack, but the flying knife it produced looked visually weakerthis time.
The monkey's soul had received a brutal beating from Austin, and itwas almost at the end of its strengths.
After a few rounds of this same game, which felt like an eternity to themonkey, it finally ran out of its power and could no longer produce anydefense against Austin's attack.
Choosing hopeless flight over a hopeless fight, it ran around in Austin’sSoul Sea, all the while chased by a flying needle. It tried to escapeseveral times, only to be forced back by the flying needle appearing infront of it and forcing it to change direction.
After the needle had poked him multiple times, the monkey's soulbecame pallid and was left with very little vitality, not even enough tolet him run.
"Stop! I'm the Immortal Monkey King! Please don't kill me!"
The monkey begged for mercy. Its arrogance had yielded in the face oflife-and-death danger.
"The Immortal Monkey King? Oh, is that supposed to impress me?You've irritated me instead! And I kill anyone who dares to trouble meno matter who he or she is!"
Austin sneered, showing no intention of making any concessions.
"If you let me go, I'll give you everything you want after I regain mystrength. Wealth, power, a higher social standing... You can't imaginehow much you will get in return! Can't we strike a bargain?”
The monkey suggested in a grovelling tone.
The flying needle hovering in front of its face would have stabbed it atany time, putting it under great pressure; its soul could not have takenany more pokes or stabs.
"After you regain your strength, huh? Will you really have to keep yourpromise at that moment?
I'm afraid that I'll be the first to get killed after you bounce back! Doyou think you can trick me with such a naive promise? I have half a... nowait! I totally want to kill you.
So you just cut the crap and tell me what on earth that fucking stuffinside my elixir field is.”
Austin asked the question that he most wanted to know. At the verybeginning of this event, it was a strange stone that had appeared in hiselixir field out of the blue. After that, the monkey's soul had suddenlycome out of that stone and panicked him.
He didn't know what that stone really was and was curious to know. If itwere not so, the monkey would have been dead in the first round."Okay, I'll tell you the truth, and you let me go. Do you agree?”
The monkey tried to bargain.
Austin ordered the flying needle to slightly stab at the monkey with hismind.
With a scream of pain, the monkey's soul weakened further. Already, some parts of it had turned into a void.
"You have no other choice right now!"
Austin announced in a cold voice.
"Tell me what it is now, or I'll send you to hell!"
"Okay, okay, I'll tell you whatever you want to know. Keep your shirton!"
The monkey cried in alarm. Its soul was already very weak, and it wouldvanish in thin air if it fell to any more harm.
Although it had been one of the most powerful creatures in this worldin the past, it dared not challenge Austin any more now that it wasfacing a life-and-death situation.
"That “stuff’ you mentioned is a treasure from a fairy grave in the GrandDesolation Mountain. I found it in that place a month ago. I didn't knowwhat it was at the moment. However, very recently, I found out that itwas made of a special kind of stone—the vital energy stone which wasproduced only in the ancient times.”
A fairy grave? The vital energy stone?
Austin was totally confused. He had never heard about those things inthe past. The monkey continued, "The vital energy stone is an extremelyrare treasure. Many martial cultivators are eager to own it but neverhave the chance to even see one. The amazing part of it is that it canserve as a storage space of the martial cultivators’ vital energy.
You know, a martial cultivator will run out of his vital energy if he fightswith others for a long time. If you could integrate such a stone intoyour body and reserve some vital energy inside it, you will be able toreplenish yourself whenever you consume too much of your vitalenergy.
In other words, if you reserve abundant vital energy inside the stone,It's going to come in handy for replenishing all of the energy spentduring a fight, and you won't have to worry about running out. Justimagine how convenient that could be!"
The monkey explained everything in detail. He was trying hard toplease Austin.
Austin's eyes lit up with pleasure when he heard the monkey's words. Ifthe vital energy stone really did function that way, it would be of greathelp to him.
"Another question, was it the vital energy stone or you that suckedaway all the energy from my body?"
The monkey cleared its throat before replying with an embarrassedlook. "Emm... Both, actually. My soul was hurt severely. In order toemploy a kind of soul-recovering magic which requires an environmentwith rich vital energy, I absorbed your vital energy into the stone toheal my soul. Otherwise, I would have died.
And before you kill me, you should know... That entire amount of vitalenergy is still reserved in the stone. I only borrowed it a bit to nourishmy soul but didn't consume any of it. If you want to use it, you can takeit out of the stone any time you like."
The monkey explained cautiously, afraid that Austin would get angry atit.
After all, it had controlled the vital energy stone to absorb all of thevital energy inside Austin's body and had almost ruined his cultivation."You mean that all of the energy from the seven earth spirit fruits isinside the stone and I can use it at any time?"
Austin asked with a surprised look. God, those were seven earth spiritfruits he had consumed! Just imagine how much energy they couldproduce in total!
When he had eaten a single earth spirit fruit in the Beast Mountain lasttime, he had almost failed to take in the enormous amount of energy ithad released into his meridians. But now, he had the energy of sevenearth spirit fruits stored in the vital energy stone, and he could use it atany moment. It was such a big surprise that Austin felt like he was in adream.
"Is there anything else about the stone? Tell me everything you knowabout it."
Austin commanded in an icy cold tone as he threatened the monkeywith the flying needle.
"There is a cultivation method inside it."
The monkey answered with a weak voice.
"A cultivation method? What grade? What does it do?"
"I know its name is Golden Sun Scripture, but I don't know what gradeitis."
"And anything else? Don't try to conceal anything from me!"
Austin threatened mercilessly.
