Chapter twenty Four

Chapter 24:

**Reese’s POVES

A scream woke me up. I suddenly fell off the couch I was sleeping onand hit the ground with a loud thump. my heart pounded in my chestas I made my way towards her. there was nothing more painful, thenhearing her in pain.

Another scream echoed through the house as my chest constricted andmy heartstrings pulled. Colleen. Her name was the only thing that wasgoing through my mind in the moment.

I followed her scent to a shut door, I opened it in a rush and watchedher hollow in pain. She laid down in a crouching position as hescratched at herself.

I tried making my way to her side as she held her hand up stopping mein my tracks, and in a pained and soft voice muttered firmly, "No."

No? what did she mean "No". ignoring her words, I made my way toher side as she pushed me away as tears sprung into her yes. taking herface in my hand, I searched her eyes for a meaning behind her wordsbut all she had done was repeat it again.

my eyebrows furrowed at her words as I couldn’t bring myself tounderstand what she was getting at. "What t=do you mean by "No"Colleen, whether you agree or not, it's going to happen,” I said with notrace of regret in my tone.

She tried pushing me away, but I held her wrists bringing her to facemy neck. "You haven't rested, you haven't gotten back recovered fromthe last time, you're going to die. I won't do it." she said her voicestraight in as pain hit her. My heart clenched more, hurting. My matewas hurting but here she was worrying about someone other thanherself.

"Listen to me Colleen, okay, I'm fine see, I have recovered just fine mylove, I feel great. Now please just do as your told and bite me." Iencouraged her with a lie. whether I felt okay or not was not the issue,we needed to sedate the pain and we needed to do it fast. I didn’t haveonly her to think of, I had our child to think of as well.

Stubbornly she pushed away, as tears began making their way out ofher eyes. "No." she muttered yet again. "your scent is fading.” she saidbringing to my attention.

"Hey love, look, this is what he wants. he’s manipulating the way youfeel. believe me, I'm okay. Your father knows that by doing all of this,you would sacrifice yourself instead of him having to look for a way tosacrifice you. he needs you, so he won't hurt you, but by hurtingyourself, you're giving him what he wants." I explained, "So please, justdo it. I'll be fine. I'm your mate and your alpha, I'm pretty strong if I dosay so myself,” I joked as she chuckled slightly. "So please?" I begged."You promise You're okay?" she asked in a whisper as she sniffled."yes, yes, I promise, now please.” and she did, taking her pain away, asigh of relieve washed over me.

Her canines elongated itself in my neck, as I could feel myself getweaker, but that didn't matter at all, she was feeling okay and shewasn't in pain any longer. She bit harder as I groaned. my hands fistedas I held in my groans of pain. I felt myself loose some strength asholding myself became seemingly difficult. once she was sedated, shepulled away as I let out a sigh, smiling towards her. beads of sweat hadnow accumulated on my forehead as breathing slightly becamedifficult, tying not to make anything visible I pulled away from herslightly.

She looked me in the eyes looking for a sign of... Something but foundnothing and sighed in relief. She wiped the tears under her eyes andstared at me for a moment.

"please rest.” she whispered. And I smiled nodding at her. kissing herforehead, I stood up, my legs trembling slightly, as I walked out thedoor shutting it behind me. huffing out a breath, I stood against thewall, trying to gain some energy before making my way back to theliving room and on the couch. I was going to have to rest and that wasnot even optional. I fell silent on the couch and my eyes automaticallyclosed and darkness engulfed my weak, helpless, and defenseless body.And that truly scared me.

**Colleen’s POV**:

I must do for it him. I must. I can feel him fading. His scent is fading. Hisbreathing is shallow. My mate was dying, and I couldn't stomach thefact that it was I, who was taking him away from the world. I have toreplace anything and everything I can about my father, even if it meantrisking my safety.

standing near the window, I watched as the sunlight shone on theleaves of the trees making them slightly transparent. where was I goingto have to start? if anything, I didn’t even have the slightest idea ofanything related to my father's life and I never tried to replace out. sighingI groaned in frustration.

A kick in my stomach made me gasp in shock. Soon Reese was upagain, with worry on his face.

"what's the matter, is it happening again.” a smile took over my face asI watched Reese's pale face furrow in confusion.

"they kicked.” I said to him. Even more confusion clouded his face."Who kicked? What is it colleen? Is something happening to you?" hequestioned concern laced in his voice.

"Reese! The baby kicked. I felt the baby kick.” I laughed in joy. A smilebroke on his face.

I gasped again as I felt him kick. I giggled and Reese looked so happy."Can I feel it?" he questioned. I nodded lifting my shirt and putting hishand over my tummy.

He rubbed it slowly as a kick came in again. Reese smiled andcontinued to rub. "I can't wait to see you; I can't wait to meet you. Ican't wait to hold you. I can't wait to play with you. I can't wait to loveyou." he said as he placed a kiss on my cheek.

A tear rolled out my eye. I quickly wiped it away and put a smile on myface. "and I'm sure the baby can't wait to meet his or her father." Iwhispered. And we sat in that position.

I wish everything would be like this forever and always."*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, I am so sorryfor leaving you guys hanging like that. my consistency is shit and whenirl things happen I tend to forget my books and updates. but I'msuuuuuper sorry for that. thank you to everyone who was patient withme and is continuing to read, it's all much appreciated.**
