The Unexpected Princess -
Truth
I walked down the halls of the castle, on my way to Abby’s room. Ethan and the rest of the royal family left to another kingdom, they would be gone for about two days. I was a little bummed, yesterday my parents left back to New Jersey, I would miss them, but that was their home. Walking around the castle eventually got boring and I decided to head back to my room. When I reached my room, I noticed that the guards weren’t in front of my door. I slowly walked toward the room and pushed open the door. I slowly took a step inside of the room, looking around. I lifted my head and sniffed around. I didn’t smell anything unusual. Maybe they just left for a minute. Then I heard it, two loud screams. And I knew who they belonged to, I bolted out of the room and ran to where I heard the screams. There were a bunch of guards outside to door,
“What is going on?” I asked. “Your highness it’s the vampire brothers they have taken your friends on the roof.” That was all I needed to hear, I busted the door open and ran to the roof of the castle. There they stood, fangs poking out of their lips, their eyes blood red, and in their grasp, were my two best friends.
“Let them go!” I growled. Jackson scoffed, “You wish it was that easy.” I growled again. My gaze traveled to Abby, then to Jake, they both looked terrified.
“What do you want with them?” I asked. Aaron smirked and walked up to me, “It’s not them we want, it’s you.” I slapped him across the face. “Never gonna happen!” Aaron turned and looked at Jackson. Jackson picked up Jake by his collar and held him over the edge of the wall. I took a step forward,
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” He said. What am I supposed to do? If I don’t do something quick, he’ll drop Jake. I sighed, “What do you want?” I asked. Aaron smirked, “Now that’s more like it. You are going to come back home with us. Our father would love to meet you.” Aaron nodded to Jackson. Jackson moved and lifted Jake back onto the roof. Abby made her way over to Jake and helped him to his feet. I looked at them, and when they were safely away from the brothers, I kicked my leg out and knocked Aaron on his butt.
He growled and shot back up. He looked at Jackson who ran at me. I grabbed his arm and flipped him over. He landed on his back, but it only took him a second before he was back on his feet again. I kept my attention on the brothers as they circled me.
“What’s the point in fighting? We always get what we want.” Aaron growled. “Yeah? Well I guess you can add me to the list of never gonna happen!” Jackson lunged at me, I jumped and stomped my foot on the ground, covering it in ice. Jackson’s feet were frozen to the roof. Aaron was running towards me, I used my right hand and shot fire at him. He growled and quickly patted the fire out. He took off his jacket and threw it down.
“Aw, was that your best jacket?” I mocked. He smirked. “I can always make another one, out of any animal I choose.” I knew what he meant by that, if he got what he wanted, he’d use me. I let out a growl,
“What do you want me for?” Aaron smirked and busted his brother out of the ice. “Everyone knows about you, the girl who could shift into the great horse, the one with two elements. There isn’t a creature alive besides those lousy humans, but they’re worthless. We will use your power and create a new world, a world where the vampires rule and everyone will bow to us.” The brothers laughed. I scoffed,
“You can’t be serious, what you dream of, it’s delusional, all you’ll do is start another world war!” I shouted. Aaron smirked. “So what if we do? We’ll still end up on top.” They really mean it, what they’re doing, what they want to do, will only cause death, no good could come out of their plan.
“You’re insane if you think I’m going to let you get away with that!” I knew that voice, I turned and there stood Zach. “Zach? What are you doing here?” I asked. “Ethan asked me to check up on you, it’s a good thing I did.” Zach walked up and stood beside me. He outstretched his arm and pointed toward the brothers.
“You will never succeed with this horrible plan of yours. I will never let you destroy the peace of this world. If you want Snow, You’ll have to get through me.” Zach stood protectively in front of me. The two looked at each other and smirked,
“Sounds easy enough.” Aaron and Jackson both started to fight Zach. Zach, what are you doing?! I turned to Abby and Jake, who were still watching the fight unfold. I ran over to them,
“Are you guys okay?” I asked. “As good as I’ll ever be.” Jake muttered. Abby let out a loud scream, I quickly turned just in time to see Aaron pull his arm out of Zach’s stomach. I heard Jake throw up behind me. Aaron’s arm was covered in blood. I watched in horror as Zach slumped to the ground. I felt a fire burning in my stomach, there is no way that I’m going to lose anyone else in my family. I’ve lost enough people already. I ran at the two, my left hand covered in ice and my right one on fire. I started to fight with the brothers.
“I’m never going to let you get away with this horrible plan of yours. It’s never going to happen!” I yelled. I hit the brothers in the chest at the same time and sent them flying. They groaned and slammed on the ground. I panted heavily as they laid still. Zach groaned and I ran over to him. I fell to my knees in front of him and pulled his head into my lap.
“Zach? Zach please tell me you’re okay.” I felt tears prick my eyes, he shifted under me and his eyes opened, “Snow, you’re crying.” He said. “Really? I hadn’t noticed.” He chuckled and slowly sat up. “Wait, are you okay? Should you be sitting up?” I asked. He smirked and ruffled my hair, “Don’t worry squirt, I live to bug you another day.” I rolled my eyes and shoved him playfully.
“Snow look out!” Abby yelled. I felt arms wrap tightly around me and I was lifted into the air. I felt the person jump up and land on a higher level of the roof. Zach shot up and growled. Though he wasn’t fully healed and he fell back clutching his stomach. He looked up at us.
“Let her go!” He yelled. I heard Aaron scoff above me, “As if, we got what we wanted, Jackson, I’d say it’s time for us to leave.” Jackson smirked. “See when we take over the world.” I started to squirm in Aaron’s arms. “Let me go!” His grip was too strong. I couldn’t escape. “Shut up! There is no way I’m listening to you the whole way home!” Aaron shouted. Suddenly, I felt my eyes get heavy and the last thing I remember seeing, are the faces of three people that I care about. Then everything faded and I was surrounded by darkness.
