The Unwanted Luna
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 102

-POV Edon-Fuck! Please be okay. I raced to the other side of the pack territory that Vil was guarding with two of the betas. I made it there just in time to see one of the rogues going in for the final kill and it was Vil's body at its mercy. My brother may be a pain in my ass, but he is still my brother and anyone who thinks it's appropriate to come near him will die. I roared and lunged for its throat, detaching its head from their shoulders. "Vil!" I shouted and he whimpered softly. That's a good sign. He's still alive. Now we just need to keep him that way.

I hurriedly scoped out the perimeter and, from the looks of it, that rogue was the only one. However, the body count we encountered was unreal. The shear magnitude of people behind my mother was something I'd never seen before. The strange thing was there is no way she did this in a matter of months. How did she replace so many rogues so easily to do her bidding? Whatever, just like Chaz, this woman was deranged. "Medic! Alpha down we need a medic now!" I shouted through the pack link."Yes alpha!" They called back while I protected my brother's body until they could get here.

"Vil, please stay with us man." I shouted as his breath became labored. "Don't give up. We have a mate to get back to, remember? We finally have a reason to fight. No more dying in the flames of glory, okay?" I added, trying to make light of a terrible situation. "Daddy!" Ayame shouted through our link.

"He's coming, princess. We will all see you soon. We promised that we would never leave you alone. Don't forget that." I reminded her as I started to feel her pain. After she didn't hear Vil respond to her, we could feel the shift. "I'm there, Edon, focus on Vil." He shouted to me.

I shook my head and huffed as I looked around at the carnage again. There had to be at least forty rogues here. I knew he didn't take enough reinforcements! Please visit Narugi.com and search the book title to read the entire book for free. If he gets out of this, I will relish the opportunity to say I told you so. I continued to look around to make sure we wouldn't get blindsided. It was too quiet.

"Behind." My bear growled as my heckles rose.

"Wow, you're a big one." I spun around on my paws to see two women standing there with their heads cocked to opposite sides. Same green eyes, same pale skin, and same orange hair. They were twins. I smirked internally thinking this is how everyone sees the three of us, but they were like mirror images of each other. It was creepy. I don't think we are that bad. I dug my claws in the ground as I stood in between them and my brother.

"R-run." Vil said and I shook my head.

"Save your strength. I got this." I growled back as a bolt of flames shot towards me.

I dropped to the floor and narrowly missed it. I think I found their witches. I roared and charged at them as one of the twins was telling the other something under her breath. The way they were mindlessly following orders, it seemed to be that one cannot exist without the other. The one who talks is usually the one with a plan.

I skidded to one side feeling my fur burn a bit. That was too close. I charged faster and they gasped when I changed directions at the last second, removing the head of the talker before slowly turning to the other one, licking my lips. She was mortified as I stalked closer.

A dart came out of no where and she collapsed on the floor. I turned to see who shot it and found that reinforcements and the medical team had arrived. "We got her for questioning, Alpha Edon! Spare her and head back with your brother!" One of the guards shouted. I nodded and ran over to my brother, helping the medics slowly lift him on a gurney.

"Come on, brother. Hang in there." I said again through the link and jogged next to them, making sure they had cover all the way to the pack house.

-POV Conri-

I ran back to the pack house at full speed, slicing through whomever thought it'd be a good idea to get in my way. "Daddy!" I growled loudly and increased my pace. I'm coming baby. Hang on.

"She's hurting because she feels Vil's weakness. He's fading fast." My Lycan called and I flinched. Why can't I go faster? Why did I volunteer to go to the Eastern boarders?! They are too far away from the pack house, dammit!

"He's coming, princess. We will all see you soon. We promised that we would never leave you alone. Don't forget that." Edon called and I could tell he was feeling it too. The suffocating pain of losing our brother and our mate...feeling the brunt of the fading connection. I pushed further and found my way back to the pack house finally. No one was attacking and the guards were securing the entire perimeter unphased. I shifted back and Vince was there, waiting for me.

"Alpha, you are going to be damn proud of your Luna." He said with a smirk while I yanked on my pants.

"The hell are you talking about?" I said, jogging inside the wreckage to look for my Luna.

He kept pace with me and sighed. "She killed Malerie and Donna, Alpha."

I skidded to a halt and, once we stopped in the doorway of the ballroom, a blanket engulfed me along with a small-framed female. I wrapped my arms around her tightly when I registered it was Ayame. She...she actually faced her enemies. I kissed her head a million times over while she held on as tight as she could. "I'm there Edon, focus on Vil." I shouted back.

"I was freaking out but I did it! I finally did it!" She shouted.

I sighed and tilted her chin up at me while she tried to hide herself in the blanket. Her whole body was shaking, but I won't take this from her. She did amazing. I looked over her head and, like Vince said, there were my sister and my mother, lying still on the damaged floor. Her grip tightened around my waist and I looked down to meet her eyes overflowing with tears. I let her chin go and rubbed the tears away with a small smile forming on my lips from the bittersweet victory we've had to endure. "Yes, Donna and Malerie are finally gone. We can finally rest easy, little one." Vince chuckled. "Yeah. For now."

I glared at him harshly and she rested a hand on my cheek, pulling my attention away from the idiot who can't read a room. "Vil.... Where is Vilkas?" She said through her tears, trying her best not to continue to let them consume her.

"Edon is with him now. I can still feel a heartbeat. He will be fine." I assured her.

She nodded slowly. "Oh shit! Ayame!" Emily said, running up to Ayame while Kyle did his best to make sure she didn't fall. After her last few steps over some of the dibree, Emily fell into her and held on tightly while I decided to just step out of the way. I know she is safe and that's all that matters.

"Her wounds are even healed." My Lycan hummed, smelling the faint scent of Ayame's blood but seeing no wounds on her body.

"I'm okay Emily. Honest." Ayame said, patting her friend's back gently.

"I heard what happened! You nearly gave me a heart attack, Ayame! Why didn't you run!" She shouted in Ayame's ear and even Vince and Kyle had to turn to hear that reason. I know why she needed to face this, but I still question it myself. Why didn't she run?

"I'm tired of letting everyone else fight my battles for me. I had a lot to deal with and I thought it would be easier if I just hid from it. The stress of suppressing it got so bad, I almost killed myself. So, no more running, Emily. I can't run. I have a pack that needs me just as much as I need them. I can't hide behind my triplets forever." I guess the cat is out of the bag, but at least it didn't seem too obvious. Let's just see if Emily picks up on it. From the look I'm getting from Kyle, I know he has.

"Alpha." He growled.

"Later." I shot back and he stood down.

Emily pulled away and wiped the tears from her eyes. "You may not have noticed, you might be timid and shy, but you don't run away. You suffer in silence. Don't suffer anymore! Can you at least do that for me? We can always fight together. Well...a least when the pup is born." She said with a giggle, while Kyle's face went from mortified to relieved in a matter of seconds. Poor guy. He's going through more emotions than I thought possible in the last few minutes.

"Okay, I promise." She said before turning back to me. "Now all of that aside. Please, Conri...I need to see Vil." She pressed and I sighed.

"Update, brother." I called through our link and Ayame nodded, waiting for his response.

"We are coming, princess. Almost there." Edon called through the link and I applauded him for his impeccable timing.

She sighed in relief and nodded. "Em, do you know where to get clothes?" She asked, tightening the blanket around herself.

Emily nodded and turned to one of the guards coming our way. "Hey! Our Luna needs some clothes!" Emily shouted and the man nodded, rushing up to us to provide her with a tank top and some basketball shorts.

Emily held up the blanket and Ayame changed quickly before jogging back up to me. "I want to go see him now, daddy." She purred and I nodded.

"Of course, little one." I concluded before turning back to our pack members.

"Let's get moving. Your alpha is injured." I called, and they nodded. I grabbed Ayame's hand and we headed to the hospital wing. Once we got there, Edon was pacing, naked, and Vince threw him some shorts to stop the nurses from drooling. "Glad I came prepared." Vince mumbled.

The way Ayame was glaring at those other women...I think she was glad he did too. "Back off!" Ayame shouted and they shook before running towards the back where the patient rooms are.

"Dang." Emily drawled.

Ayame rubbed her face and shook out her hair. "I'm sorry. I just.... I've had it, you know." She grinned back at her friend and ran up to Edon, plowing him with a hug.

"Hey Princess, he's still around. I'm sure he'll make it through. He's a tough one to crack." Edon whispered softly as he scooped her up in his arms. She snuggled into his chest and he looked over our shaking mate. She was still terrified, but no one said facing your enemies would be easy.

"She finally did it." I said through the link with my brothers. Even though Vil can't respond at the moment, maybe hearing this will help. I know he usually gets through these types of battles, but every time still seems just as suspenseful as the last. Next time I'm forcing him to take more men. End of story.

"Did what?" Edon asked, ruffling her hair and knocking me out of my internal monologue. "Wait...you don't mean...." He shot his eyes at me, then back at Ayame with the biggest grin on his face.

I nodded and I could hear his bear roar through our minds with such pride. Hell, my Lycan was also quite pleased."You are right, brother. She has finally conquered her past." I concluded. Her Luna trial is complete.
