The unwanted wife’s unexpected comeback -
Chapter 38
Chapter 38:
? ? ? ? ?
Monica picked up the phone and saw that someone had uncovered the divorce between Alicia and Joshua.
She read numerous comments full of negativity. People accused Alicia of using shady methods to save the marriage and of framing Lilliana.
Unfounded rumors began to circulate. These rumors claimed that Lilliana bought songs because Alicia manipulated her into doing so.
Chat logs were made public. In them, Alice portrayed herself as a pitiful, helpless housewife. She seemed to be trying to win Lilliana's sympathy and convince her to buy songs.
Lilliana agreed to pay her and promised to support her in her career.
However, Alice rejected the offer.
At first, it seemed as if Alice wanted to stay out of the public eye. In reality, she was setting a trap for Lilliana.
This supposed proof sent netizens into a rage. They hurled harsh insults at Alicia, calling her a schemer and manipulator. The language used was so vile that it was unbearable to read.
Lennon sighed and said, “Alice is a good-hearted girl, but she is too impulsive. She focused on causing a big stir without thinking about the consequences. Lilliana dares to make someone lip-sync because she has the support of the Green family. What was Alice thinking, challenging Lilliana for a man?”
Monica's eyes flashed with fury. “Challenging Lilliana over a man? That worthless piece of trash isn't even worth mentioning. Alicia agreed to write songs for a living. If she wanted to compete, she'd pick someone who truly deserved it. What talents does Lilliana have to her name?”
"Young girls shouldn't talk so crudely," Lennon said.
Monica's voice grew even louder. “I haven't even started with Lilliana. I knew that asshole was already taken and she still got pregnant before she was married. “If I see her on the street, I’ll make sure she regrets it.”
Lennon quickly put a hand over his mouth. “Monica, please stop talking!”
He realized that he could not offer any help with the situation and was wary of getting involved. However, when the Bennett family was flourishing, the Flynn and Bennett families had a strong relationship. Remembering this, I have decided to prepare some financial help for Alicia.
Alice managed to hear most of their heated arguments.
He refused the money Lennon offered him and sincerely apologized.
He realized that he hadn't been keeping up with entertainment news lately and hadn't realized how dangerous his situation had become.
Therefore, he thought that he could not bring trouble to others.
Anger filled Monica as she walked with Alicia to the door. “We should call the police, Alicia. We can’t ignore this,” she said.
Alice pressed her lips together and gently shook her head.
"Involving the police will not help," he replied.
After all, no one would dare to oppose the Green family for someone like her.
Alicia didn't want Monica to be dragged into her problems. She was determined to keep her out of it.
To do so, he had to carefully consider his next move.
At the Green family estate, Lilliana was resting from her pregnancy following the scandal.
She flipped through her phone, revealing in the mean-spirited comments directed at Alicia. The harsher the words, the more satisfied she felt.
Still unsatisfied, Lilliana turned to her assistant. “Didn’t Alicia’s parents die tragically? Get someone to spread that information. “I want to see how my fans react.”
The assistant asked doubtfully, "Isn't it going too far to involve your deceased parents?"
Lilliana's expression hardened. "So what if they're gone? They raised a daughter like her, so they deserve all the insults. Alicia brought this on herself."
The assistant remained uneasy. “But Mrs. Bennett did a lot of charity work. If people found out, it could backfire.”
His attempt to admonish Lilliana only seemed to fuel her anger further.
“Who do you think you work for?” Lilliana snapped. She grabbed a cup and threw it at the assistant, ordering her: “Follow my orders and stop arguing!”
The assistant screamed in pain. She clutched her chest and backed away, her face flushed with humiliation. “I understand. I’ll inform Stacey,” she whispered.
Stacey Cullen was Lilliana's agent. She was orchestrating the online smear campaign.
The assistant opened the door and ran into Joshua. She saw the tears on his face.
"Is everything okay?" I have asked indifferently.
Lilliana heard it and looked over. Her eyes narrowed sharply.
The assistant knew how volatile Lilliana could be. She didn't dare reveal the truth. "I'm fine, Mr. Yates," she said before leaving.
Joshua entered the room with a bowl of fruit.
“Lilliana, the doctor advised you to avoid stress during pregnancy,” he reminded her.
Lilliana grimaced. “You pity her just because she cried?”
Joshua looked down, trying to remain calm. “Why do you have to be jealous of everything? “I was just asking.” He took a piece of fruit from the bowl and offered it to her.
Lilliana refused to accept it.
She clung to Joshua and pouted. “I'm tired of eating the same thing over and over again. Honey, I want dessert. Go get it for me.”
Joshua felt completely exhausted. He had no desire to move.
"I'll order delivery," I suggested.
“No, I want you to bring it yourself!” Lilliana shook her arm. “If you don't, it means you don't love me.”
Even after seeing her beautiful face, Joshua felt no affection for her.
He was completely exhausted. Right now, he felt like a machine running without rest.
For some reason, I was starting to feel disgusted by this beautiful, scornful bitch of a woman.
“Fine, I’ll go replace her,” he agreed, finally giving in. After having invested so much in her, he felt he had no choice but to give in again. “Rest. “I’ll be back soon.”
Lilliana leaned over and kissed him.
I kissed her back and got up to leave.
At the door, she wiped the lipstick from her mouth and made a call.
"Has Alice come to the office to see me?" I have asked.
