The Wannabe Warrior -
Chapter 105
Madison POV
After I managed to get Zane to bed, I grabbed a change of clothes and took them with me, and with laptop in hand, I headed down to the inner office and started work on the information I got off Clarence and Sebastian’s computers. For more than four hours I sat there working, till my eyes were starting to blur. I saved and closed the computers and went to the sofa in Alpha’s office and fell asleep there.
Alpha woke me up three hours later when he came in to use his office. He was sorry to wake me up. Had he known I was here he would have left me to sleep. I sleepily greeted him and grabbed my change of clothes and headed to the downstairs showers, had a quick shower and grabbed an apple to eat on my way back to Alpha’s office.
‘Morning, would you like a coffee?’ Alpha asked, having just made a fresh pot.
‘Yes, please.’ I said through a yawn.
Handing me a coffee, he directs me to his inner office, and I sit at my laptop, opening it up.
‘Tell me, how far along did you get?’ Alpha looked over my shoulder as I opened up the spreadsheet.
‘Just about finished.’ I replied absently. My fingers now flying over the laptop keyboard as I finish the work that I was too tired of completing last night, or should I say early this morning.
‘Wow, how late did you stay up?’ he looked at what I had done and was very surprised.
‘Humm, I got about three hours’ sleep.’ I mumbled back, too absorbed in completing my entries to really think about my answers.
‘s**t, I am sorry Madison, you must be exhausted. I appreciate the effort though.’ Alpha leans over my shoulder and points to something on my spreadsheet.
‘Is that what it looks like?’
‘Yes, we have our main traitor, and the information on his latest idea about attacking us. If all this is true, you can get Mitch to have those areas covered. Can we warn the Deep Earth pack? This is their first visit out of seclusion, and it is going to get nasty out there.’ I suggest, dad and Alpha Daniel arrive with a coffee pot in hand and set it up on the other table, and also some ham cheese and tomato toasted sandwiches, which I presume Alpha asked to have brought in, knowing it was my go-to food, when I was busy like this on the computer, and Dad places some on a plate beside me.
‘Thanks dad.’ Grabbing one and taking a large bite, and almost spit it out, the cheese inside was hot.
‘Can you put what you have done so far up on the screen?’ Alpha Daniel asked as he sat on a chair waiting for the hologram and overhead screen to light up.
The light of the hologram filled the room, and then the gasps from dad and Alpha Daniel. They had no idea what I had been working on all night and were shocked to see the results. On the overhead screen was Sebastian’s computer results, side by side with the advisor’s results and the hologram was Clarence.
It was so obvious once all three were up on display what was happening. Clarence wanted to be king, so did Sebastian and the advisor, and they were double crossing each other to get the results. Clarence was supposed to be the overall leader of the group, Sebastian was the leader of the now dead rogues and the advisor had bullied the other packs to do his dirty work. But now that the advisor and the rogues were dead, it made a dent in both Sebastian and Clarence’s plans. Clarence appeared to be oblivious to his son’s intentions, and the double cross would happen after they had taken the king and his family down.
‘Wow, we are in the middle of a family feud and the kingdom is the prize at the end of it all.’ Dad whistled as he read all the information so far. Alpha Daniel, was quiet. As he took in the different results.
‘How much more have you got to go? Madison.’ Alpha Daniel asked, looking at the overhead screen results rather than the hologram.
‘Give me about ten more minutes and the last will be up. It is mainly Sebastian’s information I am adding. He has a lot of emails to a number of people you all know, some have been bullied to submission, others are behind the lad, though I cannot replace the reasoning behind their allegiance to Sebastian, unless they have a grievance with our Alpha Ezekiel and see this as revenge.’
As they watched the screen slowly change and waited for me to add the last of the information, Mitch left the room and returned with a tired looking Zane, who most likely had had more sleep than all the rest of us in the room combined.
