Zane POV

‘Morning, all, what is going on here?’ The information before me was a lot of power-hungry people and I wondered how long this had been developing.

‘The spreadsheets go back to mum’s death. I did not have time to go further back, and that seemed to me a good starting point. Clarence kept detailed records of all the kills he instigated and though Mum and Luna died, it seems that it was a plan gone wrong. Dad and Alpha Daniel were supposed to die, so they could put Sebastian in charge, because Jamie was too young to take over as Alpha, a lot of bullying and killings have happened over the years.’ Madison says and she completes the last of what she was doing on the laptop and sends the information on the screen.

‘Dad, what’s the plan?’ I asked, still staring at all the information that was mind-blowing.

‘You will have the Blue River warriors by your side at all times. If they get to you, then the rest of us must be dead.’ Dad demanded.

‘But dad, I need to be part of this too.’ I complained.

‘No need to be complaining, you have done enough, it is time I got my hands dirty too. Mitch will take some of our warriors and be ready outside for the arrival of Clarence and Sebastian. Depending on who is close by, we may have to be civil at first. However, we shall grab them, we shall use the sleeping darts, and take them to the dungeons, and when each one of those traitor groups arrive we shall do the same with them.’ Dad started with his thoughts of how we should take the traitors down.

‘Where do you want me?’ Jonathon asked as he looked at the list of people we had to apprehend.

‘You can take some warriors and get the ones that are already here in the barracks, Madison can give you some darts and put them to sleep before they can alert anyone of what is happening, and then place them in the cells, now we know who we are dealing with, we don’t have to wait for them all to arrive.’

‘We should have people arriving today, the ball is later tonight.’ Madison added.

Madison, do you have enough darts to take on about sixty men?’ Dad looked up at Madison, expectantly.

‘Sure, I can bring the darts to your office in about an hour?’ Madison seemed to have everything we needed. It was such a surprise how fast we have come to trust her judgement and her ability to be ready for almost anything thrown our way.

‘Go, get them done and see you in an hour.’ Dad ordered, and Madison nodded, and closed her laptop.

Madison grabbed another toasted sandwich and got up and left the room. The work she has done to have us this close to closure makes me proud. She is a fine future queen.

‘We shall have to get as many in the cells and asleep, so they cannot inform their Alpha’s about what is happening here. Mitch, who do you have on the gates?’ Alpha Daniels enquires as he looks at the hologram again.

‘Marcus’s group,’ Mitch responded.

‘Good, send some of Paul’s group there too, and we might also need to get some more out in the inner area, ready to be called in. They need to be prepared for any groups trying to sneak in, with all the people due to start arriving, it would be an easy time to cross our borders without us knowing, we would normally assume it was someone entering through the gates and not think of a breach.’ Alpha Daniel added.

‘Good thinking, we need to double the warriors around the palace grounds, the information of midnight still had not changed, but we may as well be prepared just in case they have made changes by phone and not by email, with everything having changed so fast.’ Dad was trying to cover everything.

‘Dad, Madison has a serum that can counter wolfbane. I suggest we all take some. It takes half an hour to take effect and lasts a full twenty-four hours, and also the warriors, if we can, the warriors we are going to be facing may have their toes painted again, like they did in the forest. We know the serum works. As Graham was not affected when they were attacked last time, Graham was Madison’s test subject.’

‘Dad, Madison has a serum that can counter wolfbane. I suggest we all take some. It takes half an hour to take effect and lasts a full twenty-four hours, and also the warriors, if we can, the warriors we are going to be facing may have their toes painted again, like they did in the forest. We know the serum works. As Graham was not affected when they were attacked last time, Graham was Madison’s test subject.’

‘With us handling innocent people who are coming to attend the ball, I don’t want to paint our warriors’ nails, it is too risky, we might scratch one of the ball attendees by mistake. Though if all goes as planned, the fighting will be minimal.’ Dad disagrees with me on the nails and I understand his thinking.

‘Can we have the warriors that are going to be inside the palace, dress like attending the ball, they are all or should be unmated males and they would blend in better that way.’ Alpha Daniel and Jonathon were good at this type of preparation. The ideas they have come up with have been useful, though, we most likely get them ourselves eventually. Having them here brainstorming ideas was a huge relief to me, and I am glad a lot of it is taken off dad’s shoulders. He has been worrying about this for way too long.

‘Anything else anyone wants to add, we have to have things done as quickly and quietly as possible. If we can get the bulk into the cells, before our first guests arrive, we will have less chance of someone slipping up and saying something, before we want that information out.’ Our team here is great, we trusted each other, and the ideas flowing was good.

No one added anything, we just kept going through the hologram and screen, putting names into our brains. While we waited for Madison to return with the darts, I mind-linked her to bring the serum with her too.
