The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 149

Madison POV

My body ached and bruised from being bounced around in the back of a moving vehicle. Another big bump that had me groaning in pain, as it forced me to wake from the drug-induced sleep.

I tried to stretch the kinks out, but found I was bound and gagged and in an uncomfortable position.

Looking around, the best I could, it appeared I was in the back of a van, or some sort of vehicle with that sort of shape to it. It was dark, and I assumed it might still be night time, and we were travelling fast and the way I was bouncing around back here, gave me the impression we were going over rough terrain and that the direction was hard to decern? With my still foggy head, from what ever was in that needle, I closed my eyes and waited for my head to clear.

Slowly, the fog in my brain lifted and I opened my eyes enough to look around the van again and g*****d softly as my head hit the deck of the van, as we got over another bump.

I managed to roll over onto my side and noticed the boxes I had left in the Alpha’s office for us to take back were in there with me, but not the bag or the box hidden in the bus. I internally sighed at that, hopefully Mitch would be able to get them to Ezekiel and dig through them. I wish I had taken the time to look at the photos now. It might have given me a clue as to why I was taken, and where I am being taken to.

This was going to be a long night. I started to see if I could get under my ropes, but gave up after a while. The bouncing up and down made it hard to get a grip on the ropes.

Betsy was quiet. I tried to talk to her, but she just growled softly at me and told me to be quiet, her head was hurting from the needle stuff, and she wanted to rest a bit longer before she tried to heal me.

I asked her not to heal me. I was bound by wolfbane and if she healed me, they would know that wolfbane does not work on me, so I have to suffer a little longer and get as much information as I can, then we can let Ezekiel know.

Accepting my idea, Betsy rolled up into a ball and went to sleep.

The moving vehicle and bouncing around did not affect her, the needle stuff did, and as I have no idea what was in it, I could only sympathise with her as my head, too, was pounding.

I let myself fall back into unconsciousness, letting my mind go blank and drift back into oblivion, an ability I gained when I was young and needed to block out the nightmares of my mother’s death. You could say I am an expert at it now.

When I started to wake up, I noticed I was no longer moving, and I could hear voices telling someone off about the amount of drug they had given me as I should have woken up a while ago. The voice was of an older woman, and she did not sound kind. I kept myself still and my breathing deep, and used my nose to see if I could recognise where I was.

It smelt like I was in a hospital, and the sound of the regular beep was annoyingly loud. I could tell there were at least four people in the room, one of whom had been in the bedroom. When I was abducted, I slowly placed myself back to sleep, it was an easy thing to do, and knowing I had stopped and at the end of the journey, I was content to just let my body get the rest it would need, and hopefully heal a little bit, before I had to face that annoying sounding woman.

Sometime later, I semi woke up again, to the sound of a frantic man, shaking me, demanding I wake up, that it was all my fault and I needed to wake up to fix whatever it was I had done.

The man let me go and I could tell he was pacing the floor; something definitely was happening and this man needed to blame someone for whatever it was that was going on.

Betsy was still quiet, so I did not fully awaken.

‘Betsy, are you okay? What is wrong?’ I asked my wolf, as she growled softly.

‘They took the wolfbane ropes off a little while ago, they want us to heal and wake up. They have tried a few things, they put water on us, and now this man is shaking us, they are desperate for us to wake up, maybe staying asleep is good?’ she replied and I was surprised I had not noticed the water being thrown on me.

A woman’s voice boomed, close by.

‘Is she awake yet?’ her voice was high pitched and most annoyingly.

‘No change.’ The man responded sadly.

‘How much drug did Thomas give the girl? It must have been a lot, she has been out for three days now.’

I was shocked to hear that I had slept that long, and was also pleased that I was pissing them off without even trying.
