The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 156

Zane POV

Madison had me coming like a school boy in just a few minutes of talking me through the best m**********n session ever, it was mink-link s*x at its best, something I had never done before, not even on the phone, and I needed her so badly, and she picked up on my need almost instantly and together, we rode a wild ride and both found the finish line.

I got up and cleaned up the mess I had on my belly and hand, and grinned as I did. Madison made me feel so good, even so far far away, I felt like a school boy with a new crush, and I felt my d**k twitch again, just thinking of her and if I did not stop, I would be jacking off again and it wouldn’t be as good as the one Madison just gave me.

Sleep found me faster than it had since Madison had left for the Dark River pack and the three days when we did not hear from her after her a*******n there was almost zero sleep. I think I only slept when exhaustion had me staggering around and dad growled at me, something about what good would I be if I didn’t get some rest, if we needed to leave in a hurry. I understood his meaning, but still found it hard to sleep. I would go to bed and just lie there most of the night, maybe a few moments here and there. I would replace that sleep took over. I was so drained and hearing her voice was like getting a sudden jolt of energy and I was ready to join dad and get a group together and bring my mate home.

Hearing her sexy voice was all I needed to get myself out of the slump and enjoying our private moment was more than I could ask for.

But now that she had tired me out in the most orgasmic way, I was gone, with a smile on my face and looking forward to what tomorrow would bring, and thoughts of happiness, and hopefulness, and working on bringing my mate home,

I will be with my mate really soon, or that is what drove me to a good night’s sleep, thinking of my mate in my arms, warm and safe from harm.

Morning came fast.

To my surprise, I had slept in, it was almost ten o’clock in the morning.

I got washed and dressed and headed down to grab some food and replace my father.

Last time I saw him he mentioned he was going to talk to Alex today and I wanted to go with him, but with me sleeping in, I thought he, most likely, had already gone.

‘Morning Mary.’ I greeted her happily and Mary turned and stared at me for a moment, assessing me as she did. Mary was one of the few people who could get a real read of me, and her sudden smile told me she knew I had heard from Madison.

‘How is she?’ Mary demanded, not even giving me a morning greeting.

‘What no greeting?’ I quip back at her and she moves over to me and pulls me in for a hug and I chuckle at her attempt to sidetrack me.

‘Morning, now how is she?’ Mary growled this time. She turned to stare at me, her hands on her h**s and she was not giving up until I told her what I knew.

‘I see how it is, I am no longer your favourite.’ I gave her a hurt, sulky look.

‘Stop it, now answer me?’ she demands, as she flicks her towel at me and I quickly dodge it, making me laugh at her half-hearted attempt to whip me with her towel.

‘Madison got in touch with us last night, she is alive and, from what I can tell, not hurt.’ I said as I watched Mary’s face turn from concern to relief.

‘When will she be home?’ Mary asked the question just like I expected, and there was no sugar coating this.

I look around the kitchen and wait for a girl who has just entered to grab what she came in for and leave, sending us a questioning look as she leaves.

Mary, noting why I had not replied, continued to put a plate of food together for me and poured a cup of coffee, placing it on the small table and nodded for me to sit.

‘Do you remember Gladys?’ I asked instead of answering her question.

‘Of course, anyone in the palace back then would remember that short-tempered, entitled princess, twin to our king.’ She answered with a snarl and a face of bitterness, like none I had ever seen in this sweet gentle lady.

‘Madison is in her hands at the moment.’ I answered as gently as I could.

‘OH, MY GODDESS.’ Mary screamed out loudly and I even jumped at her sudden loud, angry, hurt voice.

‘If that woman hurts a hair on my Madison’s head, I will replace her and gut her with my butcher knife.’ Mary growls out lowly and I believe she would if she was given half a chance.

‘You will have to stand in line for that one Mary, we are all one accord on that.’ I said as I pulled a distraught Mary into my arms and rubbed her back, in an attempt to make her feel a little better. Her quiet sobs, wetting my shirt and her body bounced up and down as she sobbed, I held her tighter and let her sob away her grief as I waited for her to cry it out and get control of herself again. It was rare for our Mary to show such emotions, and I was proud it was my shoulder she was crying on, and we shared that special moment together.

Mary pushed away from me, her moment over.

‘Get and eat, then bring our Madison home.’ She demanded, and shooed me towards the table with the food she had prepared for me and turned back to her work in the kitchen.
