The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 55

Madison POV

After walking out of the meeting, which I was getting bored with anyway, and thought putting on a show would be fun, and it was, the reaction from those in the room could not have been better. Let’s hope that action made the men in the room stop and think.

The hologram I made looked great on the table. I had been working on that for months and only finished writing the program before the rescue. I had not had the chance to test it fully. I am really pleased with the final result, and have more ideas on expanding it at a later date.

I hunted down the ladies, to see what they were up to. The queen, Luna, more or less ignored me when I entered, and as none of the other ladies knew who I was, they copied Luna’s behaviour, they were chatting about old times and felt I was the odd one out. It seems that is the story of my life. I am the odd one out with the ladies and the warriors. I have yet to replace my place. I stood to leave the room and Luna called out to me just as I reached the door.

‘Madison, bring me coffee and cake.’ Her voice was loud and she had the other ladies look at me from the door.

She spoke in a demanding voice, as if ordering me to do her bidding.

‘Sure, I can do that, Luna, but realise your actions today have been noted, and in the future, you may come to regret the missed opportunity you just had.’ I replied politely and with an innocent manner and left the room, as I closed the door, I heard someone ask who I was, and she replied ‘Zane’s latest bed partner’, which confirmed to me, that she did not see me as Zane’s mate.

The kitchen was a hive of activity as usual; I placed Luna’s request with Mary and suggested maybe taking a whole tray for the others in the room.

I grabbed some coffee and headed to Gerome’s little room.

The monitors were all lit up and I looked at them to see if there was any activity. The cave entrance that had smoke coming out of it, had a lot of rogues carrying stuff out, it seemed what ever was in that cave was ruined, some of it looked like bedding and that confused me at first, and then it made me worry. Could they be playing we genetics? Making rogues stronger? I have heard of some trying to make stronger warriors by using chemical enhancements. I really hope not. Maybe they are experimenting with scent sprays, like I did. The warriors and Ryan mentioned the rogues that attacked them had no scent.

The cells were still empty, and reviewing the history since Ryan was rescued, no one had entered that room.

The entrance to the mine had a delivery. It looked like food again and medical supplies.

They must have a lot of people hidden in the caves and mine.

I had thought we could block those vents and send some of those canisters that make your eyes sting and cry. It would be interesting to see if the caves suddenly had people leave them. Once the canisters are dropped, that would be confirmation that all are connected and not just some, as first thought.

Sitting in front of the main computer, I started to add the suggestion from the meeting that I had managed to write down, then started to update the spreadsheets, opening and viewing one monitor at a time. It is time-consuming, but it has to be done. I had my laptop open, with the pictures of those we had identified so far, and when I saw someone I was not familiar with, I checked the faces on the laptop. I had set it up with face recognition, and sent each face to my laptop and let the machine do the work. So far, no new faces.

Gerome entered the room with a few of the Alphas from the meeting. I guess it was over, and I looked at the time on the screen and was shocked. I had been sitting, entering this information for over four hours.

‘Hi Madison.’ Gerome politely greeted me.

Looking over at him, he had brought a coffee with him and handed it to me.

‘Thank you, Gerome, I have updated the spreadsheet with the rogue movements. They had another food delivery and what looked like medical supplies and it seems that the cave you mentioned had smoke coming from. They are removing what appears to be bedding. Could you double check that footage? I have saved it, so it will start with them taking the stuff out.’ I take a sip of the coffee and g***n with contentment.

‘It is nearly dinner time. How about you finish up what you are doing, and go get changed for dinner.’ Gerome suggested.

I nodded and continued with the last few entries on the spreadsheet, while Gerome showed the men around the room and explained what the cameras were looking at. He then opened the footage. I asked Gerome to look at it and the men looked over his shoulder as they viewed the footage together.

‘Catch you at dinner.’ I said to the room.

‘Yep, dinner in half an hour.’ Gerome answered, and I noted, none of the others that came with Gerome, either greeted or acknowledged my leaving. Another proof. I do not belong here, mate or not, I don’t think I want to be here. I might just go back with dad when he returns home. I feel so lost here.
