took a deep breath and went inside.

Hopefully, this place is good.

"Good morning. Do you have a reservation today or are you walking in?" the lady from the desk asked me.

"Good morning" I greeted back

"I'm a walk in customer" I said.

"What services are you going to have done today?" she asked.

"I'm planning to get my hair bleached to blonde please" I said.

The lady nodded.

"Okay, we'll let you know when someone is ready for you" the lady saud and I nodded.

I waited for about an hour and was finally accommodate.

"What service would you like to do today, maam" the girl asked me.

"Uhm I'd like to go blonde please" I said.

The hairdresser nodded.

I stayed in the salon for hours.

Thankfully, i got there early and I could still run another errand later.

"Are you ready to see the new look, maam?" the hairstylist asked.

I nodded.

She turned me around and I saw my reflection in the mirror.

It's astounding how different I look with just a simple hair makeover.

"What do you think?" the stylist asked.

I smiled.

"I love it" I said.

It was like a different person was starting back at me.

This wasn't Alissa Ford.

This was Soleil Ellis.

I paid for the services and tipped 50% then asked to use the bathroom.

I had to freshen up a bit before going to my next destination.

After relieving myself, I washed my hands and looked in the mirror.

I stared at my eyes.

Ever since I woke up from the coma, I noticed the subtle change in my eyes.

My normal eyes have always been brown but when I look at it now, I see a hint of gold in it.

It was subtle but enough for me to recognize.

I put a little powder and tint on my face then made my way out of the salon.

I borrowed Mildred or should I refer to her as 'Ma' from now on?

I borrowed her late husband's car.

Thankfully, I was able to settle all the things I needed to settle and was able to renew a license under my new name.

I got in the car and drove to the location of my next destination.

After some time, I arrived and parked the car.

I got out of my car and looked around.

The environment seems fine to me.

I grabbed my things from the back of the car and made my way to the building.

There were quite some people and a lot of them were looking my way.

Was it what I was wearing or my new blonde hair?

A simple white semi-sheer button front solid tee paired with a beige bodycon skirt and white sneakers.

I reached the front of the building and stopped.

I stood in front of the university that I picked out.

It was a really good university at it was close to the house.

It's enrollment week and I'm here to pass my form and enroll.

I made my way inside.

I walked through the hallway and there were still people looking my way.

It was probably because of my aura.

It's different and I can feel it.

I was able to submit my form and was asked to wait for something that I needed to fill up.

The paper was given to me but I didn't have a pen.

I forgot to bring one.

I sighed and was about to borrow from the lady in the office when someone suddenly reached their hand with a pen.

I looked at the person and saw a guy.

"Here" he said.

"Thanks" I said and I started to fill my paper up then passed it.

Just when I was about to return it to the guy earlier, he was gone.

I looked around but couldn't replace him anywhere.

Where could he suddenly be?

He lite left his pen with me and it looked like a very expensive pen.

I sighed and just took the pen with me, I'll return it to him when I see him again.

I then made my way out of the building amd walked to my car.

I got inside and put my things in the back.

I stared at the pen for a moment.

Then, I realized it had an engraving to it.

Calum.

Hm.

Atleast I'll know what name to look for.

I started my car and started driving back home.

I might take Ma out for dinner tonight.

It was only a short drive and I arrived at home.

I parked the car up front then made my wa inside.

We still had 2 hours till dinner tine so we could prepare.

"Ma?" I called out.

I started looking for her around the house.

Ma peaked out from the kitchen.

"I'm here, my dear-oh your hair" she said and motioned me to go to her so I did.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I went to her.

I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I was just cleaning the pantry" she said still looking at my hair.

"You like it?" I said showing her my hair.

Ma smiled.

"I love it. You look even more stunning" she said and I smiled.

"Let me help you out here than let's prepare to go out for dinner. How does that sound?" I said.

"It sounds lovely" she said with a smile.

I helped in cleaning the pantry and after that, I took a quick shower and hot dressed again.

I wore a white surplice neck knot side ruffle trim wrap dress paired with white heeled sandals.

Ma bought me the dress a little while ago and the sandals were hers.

I dried and styled my hair then put a little tint and powder on my face.

I looked at myself in the mirror.

I look like someone who has her life together.

I chuckled at the thought.

I am trying my best to make my life better.

For the past few weeks that I started changing my life for the better, I've already done a lot of things.

I've encountered a lot of dangerous situations and been caught up in different complicated scenarios.

During the days that I'm not trying to save someone from whatever unfortunate event, I volunteer with charity work.

I donate here and there and even invested some of the money so it could grow and I can donate more in the future.

Although personally I really don't think that there will be much of a problem with resources now.

The Sun God provides me with more than enough resources to keep me going.

If I think about it, if I wanted a new house, a new car, new gadgets and even a full closet of new clothes, I'd have no problem affording it.

But I wasn't like that. Not even before.

So maybe that's why he gave me such a huge amount of money in one go.

He probably knew how I was.

Sometimes, it's ironic to think how much the Sun God knows me.

I don't think I've ever been treated by the Moon Goddess the way the Sun God treats me now.

I sighed.

Whatever.

I finished preparing and checked on Ma.

I knocked on het bedroom door.

"Come in" she sais from inside.

I opened the door and saw her by her vanity as she tried putting her necklace on.

I walked over to her.

“Let me" I said and Ma gave me het necklace and I wore it on her and placed my hand on her shoulder as I looked at her in the mirror. "Pretty Ma" I said.

Ma smiled and held my hand on her shoulder.

"I'm ready when you are" I said and Ma grabbed her bag and we made our way out.

We got out of the house and I went to the car and opened the door for Ma.

Once she got inside, I got in as well in the driver's seat.

I started the car and checked on Ma first.

"Let's go?" I said and Ma nodded.

We drove off.

I heard good things about a restaurant in the city and wanted to take Ma there.

We often eat at home and cooked in turns.

We liked it that way because we enjoyed each other's food and company.

I've only known Mildred for a few months but it feels like I've known her all my life.

When I was confined in the hospital and in a coma for months, she was there for me.

She only knew me for less than a month back then but she chose to stand by my side. She chose to stay and wait for me.

What we had was pure and genuine and I'm so thankful for that.

I'm so thankful that I chose to live a second life.

I really am.

We arrived at the restaurant location and I parked the car then opened the door for Ma.

"Thank you, dear" she said with a giggle.

I smiled and offered her my arm to hold and so she held onto me.

We walked to restaurants and thankfully, we were prioritized because of Ma.

We got in almost immediately.

We were sat down and given a menu.

"Oh there's so many food to choose from. I don't know which one I like" Ma said.

I slightly chuckled.

She was like this all the time whenever we ate out.

Then, she looked at me and gave me a smile.

"Can't you pick me a meal, dear?" she said.

I laughed a little.

"Of course, Ma" I said.

I picked out two dishes for the both of us and then ordered.

Ma looked around.

"This is a very nice place" she said.

"It is, isn't it? I found it on the internet and thought you'd like it" I said proudly.

"I do. I like it. Thank you, my dear" she said.

I smiled.

"You can really replace everything on the internet nowadays huh" she said and I nodded in agreement.

After a few minutes, our food came.

"Ma, let me cut that for you first" I said.

Ma nodded and I got her plate from hers and cut her food then gave it back to her.

"Thank you, dear" she said.

"You're welcome, Ma" I said.

Then, we both started eating.

Ma and I talked about how great the ambiance was and all that.

Then, we talked about her upcoming birthday in a few weeks.

She's turning 65.

"What do you want to do for your birthday, Ma? Do you want to go somewhere? Or want to eat anything specific?" I asked.

"I do have a place I want to go to. A place I haven't been to for a while but it's a pretty long drive" she said.

"That won't be a problem. We have a car and I can drive. If you want to go there, we'll go there" I said. Ma smiled and nodded.

We continued eating and talking about what she wanted to do for her special day.

After we finished, I politely asked for a bill.

The server came back with the bill and when I opened it, I saw a note along with a paid bill.

"Miss, your bill has been paid by a customer from earlier" the server said.

My brows furrowed a little.

Who would casually do that?

I looked at the note.

I'm sorry, please don't misunderstand. It's only a simple kind gesture -C

Hm.

I smiled a little and took the note and hid it.

Then, I got my wallet and took out the amount I was going to pay earlier which was for the food and a 50% tip.

Then, I gave it to the server.

"This is your tip. Enjoy the rest of your night" I said and she looked at me a bit wide eyed before thanking me profusely.

I got up with Ma and we walked out of the restaurant.

Then, Ma and I walked hand in hand to the parking lot.

"It's a beautiful night tonight" she said.

I smiled.

"It is" I said.

Ma looked up.

"The moon and the stars look beautiful" she said.

I bit my lower lip and looked up.

I teared up a bit.

For months, this was the first time that I looked up at the night sky.

I was slowly trying to come into terms with all that happened.

I felt it was the best way to live my life again.

"It is quite beautiful" I agreed.

Then, Ma and I smiled at each other.

I looked back up at the sky.

It is indeed beautiful.
