Alissa Soleil's POV

I looked out the window of the moving limousine as we drove through the city.

I can see people turning their heads to look at the vehicle and I just assumed this was tinted.

If not, that'll be very embarrassing.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"To the airport" Axel answered.

I nodded.

"Can you be honest with me?" I sais and turned to Axel.

"About what?" he asked.

"How many men was Luke going to actually send to get me?" I asked.

Axel chuckled.

"It's just me originally" he said.

"Really? What about these guys then?" I asked referring to the driver and the body guard in the front seats.

"Neither one of them know who you are. The only information they have on you is you're His Highness' special guest" he explained.

I nodded as I glanced at the wolves in front.

That makes sense.

After some time, we arrived at the airport and the door was opened for me then I went down.

Axel stood beside me and I held onto his arm nervously.

Then, we looked at the private jet plane in front of us.

"Don't tell me we're going in that" I said.

"Luke wanted you to arrive in the Palace as soon as you can" Axel explained.

I sighed.

Axel and I walked to the private jet and got inside.

I would've preferred a normal plane.

We sat down from across each other and settled down.

There were additional 2 guards inside the plane waiting for us.

Seriously?

It's not like I'm going to jump out from here.

After a few minutes of being settled down, the plane immediately took off.

I looked at the window and realized it was sunset.

I smiled a little.

It looked absolutely gorgeous.

Axel also turned his head to look at the sunset from the window.

We both watched as the sun set and the sky darkened.

"You know what?" I said.

Axel looked at me.

"For a good amount of time time in my life, I despised the moon so much" I told Axel.

"Why?" he asked.

I looked at the window again.

"Because I felt like it was so unfair how fate was treating me when I never did anything bad to deserve it" I said.

"I blamed the moon goddess every day and night" I added.

"You're right. Fate was indeed unfair to you" Axel said.

I smiled sadly.

"What about Quinn?" he asked curiously.

"What about her?" I asked.

"Do you still talk to her?" he asked.

I nodded.

"Occasionally, yeah" I said.

"Unfortunately, our bond isn't as strong as it was before" I admitted.

Axel nodded in understanding.

Then, there was a moment of silence.

"Brya" I said.

Axel looked at me.

"How is he?" I asked curiously.

Axel smiled sadly.

"He hasn't been the best since you left" he said.

"For months, he went to the tree you always climbed on and he would cry there until the sun sets. When he comes home, he goes to your room instead of his and he sleeps there" he said. After that, he insisted on training so we let him.

"Now, he's the current assistant head warrior" he said

I was a bit stunned.

"He hasn't like found his mate yet, right?" I asked.

"Not yet" Axel said.

I sighed in relief and he chuckled.

It would be weird to replace out that my little already has a mate.

But then again, it wouldn't be impossible considering how many years have passed already.

I bit my lower and looked at Axel again.

"And mom?" I asked.

"She still mourns for you everyday" he said.

I looked down.

"Uhm I uh I'm feeling a bit tired since I spent 2 weeks doing overtime. Can I get a place to sleep please?" I said.

Axel nodded and we stood up and he led me to a sleeping area in the plane.

I laid down and just looked at the ceiling above me.

I felt absolutely horrible.

I mean, I already felt horrible before but it's even worse now.

A lot worse.

If I had the option to jump out of the plane, I probably will.

That's how baf I feel.

Because I was hurt, I ended up hurting my own family.

It wasn't my intention but that's why I did.

Hurting them was one of the many consequences of my questions.

I hate myself so much for it.

I sighed.

Maybe it'll make me feel better of I blame Luke?

Not a very healthy way to cope, Alissa Soleil.

I huffed as I grabbed a pillow and covered myself with it.

Maybe I should like suffocate myself or something.

I mean, I kinda deserve it.

I sighed again.

What am I doing with my life really?

I removed the pillow on my face and continued to stare at the ceiling.

"He went to the tree you always climbed on and he would cry there until the sun sets"

Bryan...I'm so sorry.

I never knew my absence would break you so much.

You were so young.

I should've at least talked to you.

Should've at least said a proper goodbye.

A tear escaped my eye.

Ghad.

What have I done?

I'm an even worse a-hole than Luke.

I traumatized my little brother and broke my mom's heart for who knows how many times already.

I rolled to my side and started lightly banging my head on the wall of the plane.

"Ali"

Axel came in.

"Yes?" I replied innocently and he sighed in disbelief.

"Don't do that. You're going to hurt yourself even before we could get to the Palace" he said.

"I'm a werewolf now. I'll heal even before we land" I said.

Axel shook his head at me.

"Please. Just don't" he said.

I sighed and nodded.

Then, I sat up with a pout.

"What is it?" he asked worried.

I bit my lower lip.

"I was the absolute worst step-daughter to you and the worst daughter to mom" I said.

"I was once a good sister to Bryan but I abandoned him not once but twice. I am officially the worst, aren't I?" I said.

Axel sighed.

"You had your reasons" he said.

"It's not a good enough reason to justify the pain I've caused all of you" I said.

Axel shook his head.

"Your reason was valid the first time you left. The second one is even more valid" he said.

"Your daughter died. You were betrayed by your mate. You were in one of your darkest times and you left to get out of it" he said.

"Yes, there was a very negative effect to a lot of people after you left but you did what you had to do" Axel said.

I bit my lower lip and looked down with a sigh.

"Ali" Axel said and I looked at him.

"Would you like a hug?" he asked hesitantly.

I was a bit surprised but I nodded and then hugged Axel.

He felt warm and I actually felt relieved to have him by my side.

"Everything's going to be okay" he assured me.

I sighed then nodded as I hugged him tighter.

After that, Axel left and I laid down again.

It will take hours before we land so I should atleast get some sleep since I haven't really gotten any proper sleep for 2 weeks.

After some time, I fell asleep.

Then, I woke up in the meadow.

I looked around and then I saw the Sun God sitting on a wooden chair with a canvas in front of him on the middle of the meadow.

I walked over to the Sun God and when he saw me, I bowed my head to him and he smiled.

"How have you been doing?" he asked.

"I've been doing fine. I am...on my way to the Palace" I said.

The Sun God nodded.

"Nervous?" he asked.

I nodded.

The Sun God smiled.

"You deserve the rest" he told me.

I bit my lower lip and the Sun God looked at me.

He slightly tilted his head to the left.

"Are you feeling guilty?" he asked as I met his eyes.

The Sun God then sighed as he put his paint brush down and looked at me.

"Didn't I say that you were allowed to be acquainted with anyone? Even if it is the people from your past. After all, you are still part werewolf" he said.

"I know it's just that I've disassociated myself with my past life for so long and suddenly now" I said.

"Alissa, I've been waiting for you to be ready to face your past for a very long time" he said.

"You have? Why?" I asked curiously.

The Sun God grabbed his brush again and continued painting.

"Looking back to where you came from always brings good result" he said.

I was quiet after that and the Sun God looked at me.

"Do what you have to do. I don't mind sharing you for a little while" he said and smiled at me.

Then, I woke up.

I bit my lower lip and sat up.

I looked outside to see that the sun was already rising.

Then, there was a knock on the door of the plane's sleeping area.

"Come in" I said.

Axel opened the door and peaked inside.

"We land in 20 minutes" he said.

"We're landing in an airport and a vehicle is already waiting for us" he added.

"Will Luke be there?" I asked.

Axel shook his head.

"No. He'll be waiting in the palace" he said and I nodded.

"I'll quickly wash up and join you and the others" I said.

Axel nodded.

I went to the plane's bathroom and brushed my teeth and washed my face.

Then, I combed my hair and put some makeup on to look presentable.

Then, I put ky stuff away and joined Axel and the other guards.

The pilot announced that we'd be landing in 5 minutes.

I looked out of the window and the sun has already risen.

After some time, we landed and the first few guards got off before Axel and I did.

I had my shades on and wore them.

Axel offered to hold my hand as we got down and I accepted it.

I saw the car waiting for us and saw that it was one of those expensive flashy cars.

"Who's he trying to impress?" I turned to Axel.

Axel chuckled.

We got down and I was escorted inside the car and Axel and I got in.

We had a driver and as soon as we were settled down, the car drove away.

2 cars drove in front of us and another 2 drove behind us like escorts.

"I'm tempted to jump off and make a run for it just because of this many wolves trying to guard me" I said.

Axel looked at me and slightly chuckled.

"You better not" he said.

"I said I'm tempted but I wouldn't do it. I'd most likely die or be in a critical condition" I said.

Axel looked at me curiously.

"It's daytime. I'm more human than werewolf now" I explained.

He looked at me confused.

"I guess Luke hasn't told you" I said.

I thought he would've atleast told someone about it.

I guess not.

"I'll explain it to you some other time. Maybe with everyone else present" I said and Axel nodded still with a confused face.

After some time of driving, I could finally recognize the way to the Palace.

It's been so long yet the memories remained embedded in my memory.

Then, I could finally see the Palace.

My heart thumped inside my chest and I gulped.

I felt like throwing out because I was nervous.

Then, Axel reached for my hand and slightly squeezed it.

"Everything's going to be okay" he assured me.

I took a deep breath and looked ahead.

I'm not sure what will happen today but I know I'll probably bawling my eyes out today.

We reached the gates and stopped.

The windows were rolled down and the Palace guards checked on us.

"Sir Axel" one guard acknowledged Axel.

Axel gave him a nod.

Then, the guard looked at me.

"She's the King's guest" Axel said and the guard nodded before letting us in.

As soon as we entered the gates, it felt like something in me was flipped on.

"The King's guest has arrived"

"Who is it?"

"I don't know but she didn't smell like a wolf"

"What is she then?"

"A human, I think"

"A human? Why would his highness invite a human in the Palace?"

"What did she look like?"

"Blonde hair, slightly tanned skin and she looked like she's well off. An influential individual perhaps"

"Did she not look familiar at all?"

"No, not really"

Ghad.

I held my head then covered my ears.

"Ali, are you okay? What is it?" Axel asked worried.

I bit my lower lip.

"I can hear them" I muttered and looked at Axel.

His eyes slightly widened.

"You can?" he said.

I nodded slowly.

Why can I still hear them?
