Alissa's POV

I stretched forward to the right, to the left and backwards.

I reached my arms up high and stretched.

"Are you going in for a sparring session now?" Kalil appeared and approached.

"Yeah. I think it's about time I test just how much those daily training of mine has helped me get back" I said.

Kalil smiled and ruffled myself.

"Go get it, champ" he said and slightly squeezed my cheek.

I chuckled.

The wedding dress came yesterday afternoon and it's already the day after.

The dress looked absolutely stunning and I loved it.

Luke of course did not have the chance to see it.

Atleast not yet.

Today, I'm training again but this time, I'm going to do a sparring session with the guys.

I haven't been doing sparring sessions for a while because I wanted to focus on getting back to shape but since I've been at it for weeks without end, I figured I should just go for it.

I still need a lot of time to improve and after the wedding takes place, I will definitely continue training whenever I can.

"You're going to spar today?" Lucas came.

I nodded.

"Yeah. Are you training today?" I asked curiously.

Lucas shook his head.

"I'm not really in the mood at the moment but I'm definitely in the mood to see you spar though" he said.

I slightly laughed.

"Yeah yeah" I said.

"You do realize just how many guards and warriors are actually looking forward to see you fight again, right?" Lucas said

I looked at him curiously.

"Me?" I said.

"Yes, you" he said.

My brows furrowed a little.

"What about me?" I asked.

"They've seen a sneak peek of what you can do. They've seen how hard working you are for training 24/7. And lastly, they're curious just what the future Queen is capable of" he said.

I bit my lower lip.

"Well, that suddenly put me in a tight spot. If that was the case, I definitely need more time because I'm not at a 100% just yet" I said.

"Oh please. Growing up, I've seen how you are. You say you're not at a 100% but later on you give everything you can no matter what it takes. You're not at a 100% yet but you'd still be able to give a 100% performance even if it kills you. Literally" Lucas said. I smirked a little.

"Do not go there, Alissa. We'll all get killed by Luke if you actually get hurt badly" he said.

"Oh I won't. Atleast I'll try not to but I'll definitely give it my all. No doubt about that" I said with a shrug..

"I can either lose or win fighting with everything that I've got or not fight all" I added.

Lucas chuckled.

"It's a good thing that Luke left to

run an errand. He wouldn't have liked this idea very much" Lucas said.

"He never likes any idea that includes me fighting, being with other guys and leaving" I said.

"That's Luke for you" he said and we both chuckled.

"Help me warm up?" I asked Lucas.

Lucas nodded.

Lucas and I went to the side and started to warm up.

I can't exhaust myself too much.

I need a whole lot of energy to be able to give my best later on.

I just need enough amount of adrenaline from the warm up and I'm already good to go.

"How are you and my brother doing?" Lucas suddenly asked.

"Better. We're doing a lot better compared to where we first started off" I told him.

"Is he treating you good?" he asked.

I stopped and thought about it.

"Well, he no longer tries to control me. That's a start" I said.

Lucas chuckled.

"I

guess that really is a start for someone like Luke" he said.

We both chuckled.

That really is an actual improvement.

"Are you adjusting well here?" he asked further.

I smiled.

Lucas is asking an awful lot of questions.

Knowing him, I'm well aware of the reason why.

Since I'm closer to Lucas than Luke, I can read him pretty well.

"Yes, Lucas. I'm adjusting well enough. You don't have to worry so much. It's not like I haven't lived here before" I said chuckling. Lucas sighed.

"It's just that things are different. Specially for you and the only reason you came back was because you were forced to do so" he said. That's true.

"I know you enough to know that when you first came back, the last place you wanted to be was here" he continued.

That's also true.

"And that the last person you want to be with was my brother. Unfortunately for you, you didn't have much of a choice. To be more specific, Luke didn't give you a choice. Even fate didn't give you a choice because of the mate bond" he sais. That too was true.

"I was worried when you left but I'm more worried now that you're back" he told me

I smiled and stopped what I was doing.

"Luke is my brother and he's also the King but I've known you since we were kids and to me, you're just as precious as a sibling as he is" Lucas said.

I went and hugged Lucas.

"I know. I know that you're worried about a lot of things concerning me. But I think I can handle myself even better now than when we were younger. After all, I survived the rogue life and came back here alive. Even if I was indeed forced to do so" I said the last part while chuckling.

Lucas hugged me back.

"I don't want you to be miserable again, Ali. If it was up to me, I'd give you the option to come back to your pack. Goodbyes will never be easy. Specially if it's you but I'd rather not be able to see you every day if it means you can be happy rather than you being around all the time feeling miserable" he said lightly squeezing me.

"Thank you, Lucas. I appreciate you more than you know" I said.

"And I do want to be here now. Yes, I miss my pack members but you guys are family too. I just had a very conflicted life before but I'm working on it now so try not to inconvenience yourself by worrying about me" I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek before separating from the hug.

Lucas has always been the considerate one.

Truly the best.

He's like a brother to me as well.

I prepared myself and I could see Kalil talking to some wolves.

I walked over to them and Lucas followed me behind.

"You better not be telling any of them to go easy on me" I said.

The wolves Kalil was talking to bowed their heads to me then to Lucas.

"Of course not. If anything, I'm telling them to keep their guard up" he said and winked at me.

I chuckled.

After that, I looked at Lucas.

"Shall we see my progress?" I said.

Lucas nodded.

I went to the middle and looked around as other wolves gathered around me.

"Will you shift?" Kalil asked as a wolf followed him.

The other wolf must be my first opponent.

"No but he can if he wants to" I said.

The side of Kalil's lip rose up as he nodded.

Then, he looked at the wolf behind him.

"You heard what she said" he told him.

Then, Kalil looked at me again.

"This Karl. He's on top of the class. The batch's ace. He's been training for more than a year and a half" Kalil said.

I nodded as I looked at the wolf up and down.

He's physique looks good and he's got quite the aura.

"I'll take the challenge" I said.

Kalil nodded.

"And so it begins" he said with a grin as he stepped aside.

The wolves around as stepped back and I stood there as I looked at my opponent.

I tilted my head slightly ti the side as I watched him change his attack.

He was ready for offense.

The side of my lips slightly rose up as I met his fiery eyes.

"Start!"

As soon Kalil shouted that, my opponent immediately attacked by running and pouncing at me.

I stepped back dodging his attacks as he was threw a few punches.

Then, I turned and twisted quickly and now I was behind him.

He must have been taken aback and before he could turn around, I kicked him by the back and he came tumbling forward.

He immediately got up still flustered with my move.

I smiled a little and I saw his jaw clench.

Uh-oh.

I guess he didn't like that very much.

He came at me again and I was still on defense.

I waited for the right opportunity and I caught one of his punches.

He met eyes with me and I smirked as I swiftly grabbed him by the wrist and and I swept my leg below him making him lose his balance.

I used that momentum to pull him above me and slammed him to the ground.

He groaned as he laid on his back while everyone gasped.

Then, I looked around and saw Lucas and Kalil with their amused expressions.

My opponent stood up again.

This time, his eyes were red.

He's not just unhappy now.

He's furious.

I grinned.

Well, this is fun.

Then, he attacked again even more aggressively and I was having too much fun.

I forgot just how fun sparring is.

After another one of his blows, I lowered myself and lunged forward landing a punch on his stomach.

He staggered back and growled lowly.

Then, he stepped back and suddenly shifted to his wolf.

I glanced at Kalil and Lucas' direction and they watched intensely.

I could tell from their expression that they were a little tensed seeing how this was going so far.

My opponent lunged at me now in his wolf form and he definitely moved faster in his wolf.

Still, I was unfazed.

I can still do this as I am.
