Alissa's POV

I looked at myself in the mirror.

I look like a mess.

I have ripped up dirty clothes.

That sparring session was definitely something.

The first sparring round with Kalil's ace student lasted for a while.

After he shifted to his wolf, I had to change my defense a bit and added a bit more offense to my moves.

It ended with the wolf barely able to walk and Kalil ended it for his student's sake.

After that, I went against 2 more wolves at the same time.

It was a nice round and if they were both as skilled as my first opponent, it would have been hard.

They were able to damage my clothing with near miss attacks.

It ended with me slamming them with each other and they fell to the ground barely conscious.

Lastly, I fought 3 wolves at the same time.

It was quite challenging because they were good at moving in sync.

Unfortunately for them, all they were do was damage my clothing like the last pair.

The round ended when I threw one of their teammates to the 2 and they fell on the other wolves watching.

In the end, all the wolves in the training hall looked at me like I was a freak but at the same time they looked at me in awe after what I did to their pals.

Still, I wasn't quite satisfied and knew I could do a lot better.

I held the hem of my shirt and took it off only leaving me with my sports bra.

I dusted myself off with it.

Suddenly, the door to the lockers opened and I saw Kalil.

Our eyes met but his eyes shifted to my body and his eyes slightly widened before turning his back on me.

I slightly chuckled.

"I wanted to check on you. Are you okay?" he asked.

I nodded even though he couldn't see it.

"I'm fine, Kalil" I assured him.

The sparring session earlier was way more extreme than I anticipated but I think I did an okay job.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yes" I answered.

"You did a great job back there" he said as I removed my bun.

"Thanks. I think I did an okay job. Definitely need more than a few weeks of training though" I said.

Kalil chuckled.

"If that's just your definition of an okay job, you're going to make our men look pathetic when going against you" he commented. "Most of them were new, Kalil. If I had sparred with the veteran wolves, I would have had my a-s kicked on the spot" I said.

"Those 'new' wolves have been training for at least a year. They're competent enough compared to regular wolves and seeing how you've taught them a taste of their own medicine is proof enough that you did more than just an okay job when you fought with them earlier" he said.

"I've been training for years. I was just inconsistent about training but technically speaking, I've been training my whole life so even if you think of it, I had the upper hand because of my years of experience" I said as I grabbed a towel and wiped the sweat all over my body.

"They've been training continuously for a year and you were training continuously only for a few weeks. That should count for something" he said.

I chuckled.

"In situations like this, you really should be siding with your men. You train them and their progress should mean more to you than my progress" I said.

"In my defense, I train you every now and then as well. It's just that I want you to realize just how great you actually did because you always seem like you aren't contented with your performance and the last thing I want for you is to strain yourself because you think you aren't good enough when in reality, you're doing an amazing job surpassing everyone around you" Kalil said.

I smiled.

"I enjoy doing what I do, Kalil. It brings back memories of my father when I train. Just like before I left. Our trainings as teenagers reminded me of my moments with my dad and that's why I enjoy it. It's still the same case now" I told him. "Oh yeah? Are you sure it's just that and nothing more?" he said.

"Because I've seen you train with a frown on your face and a frustrated look. Training isn't always you reminiscing. Sometimes it's you trying cover up your frustrations by draining yourself of energy. You train to vent" he said. I sighed.

"Don't we all do that?" I said.

Kalik sighed.

I mean, he really wasn't lying because there have been many cases where my reason was just that.

Training helps me take out my pent up frustrations, anger, sadness and just any negativity I'm feeling.

"Ali, training might be a good outlet for your stress and frustration but I don't think it's always healthy. You could and you should think of other ways to make you feel more relaxed" he said. "Like what?" I asked.

"Talk to someone" he said and looked back at me meeting my eyes.

"In the past, you kept your feelings in tact and it ended up blowing inside of you until you had to leave and heal yourself for the damage it caused you" he said staring straight into my eyes.

"I don't want that to happen to you again because I'm here now. I'm here, Ali and I'm not leaving you again so talk to me. Rant to me. Quit pretending that everything is okay and that you can handle everything all by yourself because you're used to it already" he continued.

I sat down while looking at Kalil.

"You didn't just come here to compliment me for my performance. You're actually here to tell me to take some time off training, are you?" I said.

Kalil sighed.

"Maybe" he said.

I chuckled.

"Kalil, I'm fine. I'm doing a lot better these days so you really shouldn't worry about me too much" I said.

"As for opening up about my problems and concerns, I...I'm working on it" I said.

Kalil just stared at me and nodded before sighing.

I chuckled.

"Oh yeah. Do you know where I can get extra towels? I need to wipe myself more before going to the palace" I said. Kalil nodded.

"Yeah. There's some in the back storage. I'll get you some" he said.

"I'll come with you so I know where it is the next time" I said.

Kalil nodded and we made our way to the back.

There was a storage room in the back filled with some gears and equipment for training as well as other necessities for training. "It's further back" Kalil said.

We went further back to get the towels in a shelf.

Kalil handed them to me.

"Thank you" I said and looked around.

"I haven't seen this room before" I said.

"It was an extention for stacking training gears and equipment. It was built like a year ago" he said.

I nodded.

"Can I look around a bit?" I asked.

Kalil nodded.

I looked around and there were so many things that can be used in training that I haven't even tried before.

I should probably come up with another training technique to add to my routine already.

I think these can help me learn a thing or two.

After I finished looking around, I turned to Kalil who was quietly following me.

"Let's go?" I said.

Kalil nodded.

We made our way to the door and I tried to open it but it wouldn't budge.

My brows furrowed as I pulled on it even more but couldn't open it still.

"What's wrong?" Kalil asked and stepped up.

He tried to open the door as well but it didn't budge.

He tried again.

And again.

Then, we looked at each other.

I gulped.

We're stuck.

We kept banging on the door and trying to force it open but it was no use.

"The door is made out silver and this whole room was made to withstand attacks from werewolves as well" he said.

"What? All for a storage room?" I said.

"We have weapons here" he said with a shrug as he pointed to the area in the storage room with the swords.

I massaged my temple in frustration.

Lucas has already left because he needed to do something important and no one else was with us earlier so no one saw us come in here. The door and walls cannot be be broken.

"We're doomed" I muttered.

We are so doomed.
