Alissa's

POV

I looked outside the car window nervously.

The road we've been on for some time was unfamiliar to me.

I still feel anxious inside as I thought about meeting the people in Crescent Moon pack.

Crescent Moon isn't just a pack to the Alaric-Grey family.

The Crescent Moon pack is like an extended family to them. I'm well aware of that ever since I got to know them.

They occasionally went to Crescent Moon to visit there and I remember Liana telling me stories about the pack. Now, I'm coming there myself.

To meet the pack members.

People who have been with Luke, Lucas and Liana all their life.

And they want to meet me. Me.

I felt anxious and nervous because if it was just any pack, it would've been okay but we're talking about Crescent Moon here.

I felt a hand hold mine and I looked at Luke who was beside me.

"You okay?" he asked intertwining his hand with mine.

"Mhm-hm" I replied with a hum.

Luke just stared at me for a moment.

"You're obviously not. Come on, tell me what it is" he said wrapping his arm on my waist before pulling me closer to him. I sighed.

"I'm just a little bit nervous" I told him.

"Why would you be?" he said.

"Well, Crescent Moon is family to you guys, Luke and I haven't even met them before even during our wedding day" I said.

"On top of that, they're the biggest pack in the werewolf territory. What if they don't like me? What if they don't think I'm good enough to be your Queen?" I said anxiously.

"Hey" he said softly as he cupped my face.

"Where is this all coming from?" he asked.

I bit my lower lip.

"I don't know" I muttered.

"It's just...l get crowned in a week and to be honest, I've been anxious since the coronation date was set" I said.

"I always assure myself that it's going to be okay and everything will turn out fine because every time I think that something, even the tiniest thing goes wrong, I feel like I'm going to hyperventilate" I continued.

"I can teach a few kids, protect a few pack members from danger and even keep a small pack territory safe but were talking about a whole species here, Luke" I said then looked at him.

"How do you even do it?" I said.

Luke gave me a small smile as he held my face.

"It's not without difficulty" he said.

"I'm not the perfect King. I don't think I'll ever be so I don't expect you to be the perfect Queen as well. All we have to do is do our best to lead our people no matter what situation we might encounter" he continued. "I'm nothing close to being perfect, you should know that better than anyone else" he kept on.

"The members of the Crescent Moon pack have seen me grow up. They know a lot of things about me both positive and negative things and they adore me despite the negative ones" he stated.

"And you..." he said and looked straight into my eyes.

"You have more positive things going on for you and I'm sure they will adore you when they meet you" he told me.

"Don't be tol anxious or nervous, Alissa. They wanted to meet you for a good reason. They wouldn't backlash you unless you were a horrible person which you aren't" he said.

I sighed and laid my head on Luke.

"Okay" I said calming myself down.

Luke planted a kiss on the top of my head.

"Take a nap. I'll wake you up when we arrive at Crescent Moon pack borders" he said.

I nodded in agreement as I closed my eyes to take a nap before we could arrive at Crescent Moon.

I think it'll be better to be sleep rather than focus on over thinking.

It didn't take too long for me to fall asleep since I was being held by Luke.

The next thing I know, I was in the forest.

I walked to a familiar direction and there I saw Quinn by the lake.

"Quinn" I called out and she turned her head to look at my direction.

I walked over to her and sat beside her.

She laid her head on my lap as soon as I sat down and I smiled.

She's been really happy these days.

Must be because we're finally marked and she has one less problem to think about.

We both stared at the lake quietly until I decided to speak up.

"Quinn" I started.

"Do you think I can do this?" I asked.

"Do you think I'm capable of being Queen?" I said.

Quinn raised her head and met my eyes.

"You were able to survive death as a kid, was able to move forward after your father's passing despite your young age, adjusted to a new environment when your mom remarried, lived as a rogue even before you were of legal age, protected an entire pack, stood your ground against the King and so much more. How are you still questioning yourself, Alissa?" she replied.

I bit my lower lip guilty.

She nudged me with her snout.

"You were always a good leader, Ali. You just always fail to realize it because you give yourself a reason to not trust in yourself since you're afraid that you'll disappoint someone for whatever reason because you've been disappointed many times in the past" she stated.

I gulped and looked down.

"Alissa, times have changed" she told me.

"You've changed. Into an even more amazing being. So trust yourself just like how you'd trust your aunt Livi with your life" she said.

I smiled as I leaned my head on hers.

"Okay. Thank you" I said.

Then, I woke up.

I looked around and Luke caressed my hair.

"We're here" he said and I looked out of the car window.

We're here.
