The Woman From Hell
Chapter 2609

Green Orange.

I had just arrived at the company when Shannon came toward me. "My dear friend Wanda, don't you think you owe me a proper explanation?"

"Haha, didn't I already invite you to watch the show at Grant Corporation yesterday? What is it that you're still unsure of? It was the repeat of the old trick and catching Nicky off guard. Pretty cool, right?" I snickered. The entire situation was actually already very clear. I trusted Shannon could already guess the entire story.

However, I also knew that she wanted to denounce someone.

"It's a waste of me being your best friend. You're still keeping me in the dark and not telling me things. Were you worried I was going to reveal you?"

Shannon looked at me with hurt, her expression as aggrieved as she could make it out to be.

I was most worried about her becoming like this despite having already expected it.

"Theo and I were worried about this and didn't want too many people to know about it. Ty and Marius didn't know about it either. Don't be sad. Good girl," I consoled her softly.

Shannon pretended to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes and sniffled. "So, the mysterious person you've been calling was Theo?"

"Yes. He's been giving me ideas secretly."

"You two are made for each other, all off in your own world far from everyone else."

"Oh enough, you're my best friend. It's not like I deliberately hid it from you. The main matter was just very serious that I had to hide it from you. You're so kind. I'm sure you understand me." I took her hand. Shannon was not one to be unreasonable. "Forget it, forget it. This was a relatively huge issue. I understand why you didn't tell me anything. Now that the dust has settled, let's go."

"Yes. We have to deal with Nibel next."

"He's still not done?"

I opened my eyes. "Did you forget that he told me that he wants to go up against Theo?"

Hearing this, Shannon realized something. "Right. It's strange, though. He knew you and Theo were just pretending. Why did he still tell you that he wanted to work with you? Isn't it too contradictory?" I was also curious about this.

Shaking my head, I replied, "I'm not sure."

I was curious about Nibel's actions too.

"Whatever. I think we ought to take things step by step and see where it goes."

"That's all we can do now."

Neither of us could make a move before Nibel's objective was revealed.

"Wanda, bring Theo out here."

Sylvester's familiar voice sounded at the door.

Shannon pointed at the door and looked at me, puzzled. "Did you guys get found out?"

Before I could even answer, Sylvester pushed open the office door.

He came in aggressively. "How brilliant of you, Wanda, to actually dare send an undercover agent into the Yards'!"

He pointed at my nose angrily. Marius followed behind him. He entered the office leisurely, found an empty seat, and sat down.

I just glanced at him before fixing

my gaze on Sylvester. "What are you saying, President Yard? Didn't you approach Marius personally to get him to join you? Why are you pinning it on me now?"

"Aren't you pushing it?"

"Am I? If you hadn't tried poaching my people, how could you have fallen into the trap, President Yard Yard Group's wholehearted desire to get Astral Garden has now been fulfilled, no?" I smiled slowly

Sylvester withdrew his hand, his expression stern. "I'm so

disappointed in you. You're a part of the Yards but didn't even spare us any dignity. Astral Garden incurred a huge toss from this. Do you know that?!"

"No, I don't!!!"

I growled, shooting my sharp gaze at him.
