The Woman From Hell
Chapter 2661

"I thought you wouldn't come." Seeing him take a seat, I also put my bag down and took a seat again.

Marius looked at me and replied in a cold tone, "I've no reason to reject a free dinner."

Although his face was expressionless and his tone alienating, he still retained his humor. It reminded me a little of the past.

I pushed the menu to him. "Order whatever you want."

He accepted the menu and ordered a few dishes before closing it back up. Marius glanced at me. "Is it enough?"

"Yes."

I looked up lightly, my gaze settling on Marius. "Marius, are you still mad?"

"Yes," he answered me curtly. There was a force in his words.

My throat got stuck.

I hesitated, my heartbeat gradually quickening. "I'm sorry. We failed to consider your feelings when we decided to arrange the blind date. But we didn't have malicious intentions. We only hoped you'd be happy." Marius let out a light chuckle when he heard this. His laugh, however, felt rather mocking, like knives stabbing my heart.

"It's fine if Shannon didn't know. But I didn't think you wouldn't either."

My heart fell into the abyss again at Marius' words, the knife seemingly still embedded in it. I could not pull it out, and it hurt my heart even more.

"I'm really sorry. I wanted to stop it, but Shannon... It's my fault. Can you forgive me?"

I did not have many friends, so I cherished every single one of them. Especially someone like Marius. I did not want to lose him.

He leaned back against the sofa and looked up at me. He then turned his face away, not replying to me.

Our food arrived. I did not force him to reply to me and just ladled a bowl of soup for him. "Come, eat."

Marius ate as he usually did, just that his humorous voice was no longer an accompaniment at the table.

This meal was tough to swallow. I

had no appetite since I did not manage to get his forgiveness, but ! just kept stuffing food into my mouth. By then, Marius was done eating and had put down his cutlery. I was still not done. I was already full, but I continued. It seemed like the only way I could vent my sadness.

"Stop eating."

I heard Marius say but did not stop.

"Stop eating, Wanda!" He grabbed my hand and forced me to put down my cutlery. "What's the point of you doing this?"

Marius' words upset me even more. My stomach flipped. Covering my mouth, I ran out of the restaurant and crouched down at the side, throwing up.

Not long after, Marius came over and handed me a bottle of water and some tissues as he patted my back. "Are you done?"

"Thank you."

I wiped my mouth and rinsed it.

"Let's go walk. It'll help with your digestion."

Marius walked ahead with his hands in his pockets.

I followed and stood side by side with him. The wind was chilly at night. Marius looked back at me before taking off his coat and putting it on me. I wanted to refuse him. Actually, there's no n-

I swallowed my refusal at that and looked at Marius' profile. "What would it take for you to forgive me?"

Marius stopped in his steps when he

heard this. He turned around and

faced me. "Truthfully, I was beyond pissed that day. But my anger died quite a bit these past two

When I saw you again todays

however, I got angry again for some reason."

"Marius, I-"

He interrupted me. "I've thought about it. And I think I've found my answer."
