The Woman From Hell
Chapter 2660

Upon returning to Green Orange, the first person I saw was Nina. She looked back at me with a bright smile. "Wanda... Ah, no. You're back, President Lane."

"Yes. Now that the project over at Grant Corporation is on track, I thought I should come back and work." I patted Nina's shoulder, signaling her to go back to work before entering the office.

Unlike in the past when I would hear Shannon's voice the moment I entered through the door, I only heard murmurs throughout the quiet environment this time. I went toward the source of the sound. Shannon was buried under a pile of documents, and she was muttering, "Marius, you bastard. I'm gonna beat you up when I see you." I smiled and then greeted her. "You don't miss out on cursing the other while working, don't you?"

Shannon seemed to be in disbelief when she heard my voice and smiled after ascertaining that it was me. She stood up and asked, "Wanda, are you coming back to Green Orange now?"

"Yes."

"That's great. I'm ecstatic." Shannon instantly hugged me, her delighted appearance surprising me.

"Marius doesn't separate between private and professional matters. He didn't even come to the company and just left these documents for me to handle on my own. Looking at them gives me a headache. But thank goodness you're here. You can help me divide the work." Shannon winked at me before pointing at the documents on the table.

I loosened her grip and frowned. "Why are you so excited?"

Looking down, I sighed. "Alright. Let's work on them together."

I took some of the documents to my seat. During the time I was not around, Marius had indeed secured quite a number of orders for the company. Our sales were improving. He had been really serious about paving the way for Green Orange. Recalling what happened yesterday, my self-blame grew even more.

Theo was right, though. I should give Marius some time to calm down. That way, I would not make things worse.

"Shannon, I've thought about it seriously. What happened yesterday was our fault. Let's look for him in two days and apologize. I think he'll forgive us if we apologize to him sincerely." I was looking at Shannon.

Shannon snorted the moment she

heard that. Im not going to demand his forgiveness. He already blocked me yesterday. Even if he's willing to forgive me, I'm not willing to forgive him. You can go yourself if you want."

She really loved saving her face.

I did not force Shannon and went back to dealing with the documents.

For three consecutive days, I followed up with Green Orange's projects, so much so that it slipped my mind to look for Marius.

Shannon brought me a document

for my signature today. I only noticed that a long time had passed when I saw the date on it. I picked up my phone and turned on the screen, then sent Marius a text.

I did not wait for him to reply to me and just went straight to the restaurant. I did not know if he would come either.

Sitting in my seat, I looked over to

the door every time I heard 'welcome' being said outside to see if it was him. Yet, every time, my hopes were dashed.

An hour had passed but he still had not shown up.

My heart felt empty. I had truly suffered a loss losing such a good friend.

Head lowered, I sighed. Perhaps he might not come.

Putting my phone into my bag, I got up and was prepared to leave, but when I turned around, I saw a familiar face.

He came.

Only, Marius' face was void of a smile, and his visage was cold as he faced me.

He somehow felt like a stranger...
