To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 948 Your Mother
"My mother?" Jenny was stunned for a moment. She even wondered if she had heard correctly. Why would Harvey talk to her about her mother?
It was difficult for her to form a response. Since she returned to the Walter family and learned of her true identity, everyone's attention had been focused on her father. Because Graham was the head of the Walters, she had become a daughter of the Walters, and thus, no one cared who her mother was.
Harvey was the first person to bring up her mother.
"Yes, your mother," Harvey confirmed and continued, "Perhaps you don't care who your mother is and think it doesn't matter, but I still want to talk to you about her."
He knew that if he didn't speak up now, he might not have the chance to do so again, and Jenny might never know who her mother really was.
"No, you're wrong," Jenny interrupted Harvey and looked at him seriously. "I do care."
Of course, she cared. That was her mother.
Although she had never met her, she had heard Graham talk about what had happened in the past. She knew her mother had left because she had no choice but to protect her.
When the topic of her mother was brought up, Jenny's tender heart would start longing for her.
Hearing her words, Harvey's face lit up with a smile of relief. "Really? That's great. Your mother would be very happy to hear that."
Jenny did not interrupt him and listened as Harvey continued, "Your mother's name is Lynette Bell. She's a very gentle and beautiful woman.
"Your father was not the first person to meet your mother. It was I who brought her to Bardoff City. I wanted to introduce her to my son. Although she didn't have the best background or connections, I had a good feeling about her and thought that if my son could marry her, he would be happy.
"However, fate is a strange thing. Your mother and father met each other at an event, and they fell deeply in love. Although I was upset that your mother didn't take a liking to my outstanding son, I didn't do anything because your mother was too perfect, and I couldn't bear to do anything to her. I could only watch her fall in love with Graham."
Sighing deeply, Harvey continued. "If I had known what would happen, I would have tried my best to stop them. I should have known that marrying into the Walters wouldn't be easy. How could Graham, who was not yet the head of the family, protect your mother?"
Although Lynette was extraordinary, she had no social status or standing, and the Walters looked down on her. They would not let Graham marry her.
Jenny didn't know the details of what happened back then as Graham never told her about it in detail, only briefly mentioning it. Nonetheless, she could understand him. It must be painful for him to even think about her. After all, he failed to protect the woman he loved.
"I heard your father is looking for her?" Harvey asked.
Jenny nodded. "Yes, but there are no leads."
"As expected. When I first met your mother, I also had people investigate her, but nothing could be found." After all, he was going to introduce her to his son, so he had to investigate her in detail. "Why are you telling me all this?" Jenny looked at Harvey, wondering why.
