Caroline furrowed her brow, wondering how Daniella had found out she was at the kindergarten.

“Don’t even have the guts to step out of the car and talk? You’re a coward, Caroline,” Daniella jeered.

Caroline came to realize that Daniella had probably reported her to the police. This conclusion was

drawn from Daniella’s anxious behavior.

is Daniella trying to trick me into leaving the car, so she can record my face and send it to the police

again? I won’t fall for her foolish scheme, Caroline thought.

Fighting with Daniella wouldn’t resolve their feud, so there was no need for Caroline to exit the

car

Caroline sent a text, and the bodyguards got out of the car to put an end to Daniella’s harassment.

Starting her car, Caroline drove away while observing Daniella being led off.

Anne Wislow, Caroline’s secretary, knocked and entered Caroline’s office. She handed over the

schedule. “You have a meeting this morning and a factory visit in the afternoon due to the new

machines, Ms. Shenton”

Caroline nodded. “Sure, remind me when it’s time.”

After the meeting, Caroline was set to visit the factory. She swung by a cafe to grab Kenny’s preferred

coffee before departing.

As she turned with the coffee, she accidentally collided with someone, spilling the drink.

“I’m sorry, 1-“Caroline began but halted mid–sentence, surprised by the displeased expression on the

person’s face. It was Alex Price.

Alex brushed off the coffee stain. “It’s alright.”

His brows furrowed suddenly as he gave Caroline a discerning look.

Standing close, he peered behind her shades to see her face.

His eyes widened in shock. “Caroline?”

Caroline hastily lowered her head. “You’ve mistaken me for someone else! Sir, I’ll pay for the dry

cleaning of your suit. How much will it be?”

Alex said with certainty, “You’re Caroline!”

Caroline figured Evan would tell Alex about her return since they were best friends. She took a

deep breath and said, “It’s been a long time, Mr. Price.”

Alex was astounded “Aren’t you…”

Caroline’s expression was frozen. So he doesn’t know, huh?”

Alex said. “Dors Evan know?”

“Yes. Caroline’s gaze landed on his suit, and she changed the topic of conversation. “Your suit?”

Alex kept quiet for a moment and said, “You can buy me a coffee since you spilled coffee over me.”

Caroline checked her watch and agreed since it was still early.

While Carolina

While Caroline was buying coffee, she asked Anne to go to a nearby mall to fetch some clothes,

Afterward, Caroline joined Alex and sat across from him.

“I wouldn’t dare to believe it’s you if we weren’t standing close,” Alex said.

Caroline passed him the coffee. “You’re joking. Mr. Price.”

Alex propped up his chin. “Isn’t Evan excited to see you?”

He is so excited that he keeps getting me in trouble!‘ she complained inwardly.

Caroline refrained from the urge to complain. “He is married with children. Why would he be

excited to see me?”

“Evan has a child but not a wife, Alex corrected.

Caroline took a sip of the coffee and nodded

Alex frowned “Where have you been for the past five years?”

Caroline looked at him. “Mr. Price, I believe that this is not related to you.”

“It is not related to me, but Evan is my best friend. I’m only asking on his behalf. You have no idea

spent two years like this, and I’m surprised how he survived that ”
