True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1034
It was the day for another ultrasound scan for Grace.
She had been pregnant for almost two and a half months and her morning sickness was getting more intense. While she still had an appetite, she often vomited after she ate. The symptoms this time seemed to be a little stronger than her last pregnancy.
She was worried that the ultrasound would affect her foetus' growth, which was why she insisted on having the ultrasound only after she had been pregnant for some time. Heinz was also a little too overprotective of her during this period.
Of course, he didn't sleep well at all throughout this time as he was busy taking care of her.
Sometimes, he had to control himself hard from doing the inscrutable things that he wanted to do with Grace.
For the sake of the baby in her tummy, he could only hold in his urge.
God knew that he needed to release all the pent up tension. If not, he would go mad from it.
Grace was accustomed to going to sleep with Heinz every night. Every time they slept, she would snuggle close to him.
However, he couldn't do anything he wanted, and for him, that was just pure torture.
Grace had woken up to see a pair of hunger-filled eyes that were full of desire for her these days. Heinz looked like he wanted to devour and eat her up.
Every time she saw that gaze, she found it amusing but pitiful that Heinz had to keep his desires to himself.
She had asked him to sleep in the guest room several times before but he refused every time. He always said, "You're pregnant and I want to stay with you. I want to be with you when things become difficult for you during this pregnancy, as I know that it won't be easy. If you can go through it, so can I."
She was utterly touched when she heard that.
At the same time, she couldn't do anything about it and could only follow along.
Early that morning, they both sent the children to kindergarten and went to the hospital for an examination.
They already had an appointment with the doctor.
Grace had her blood drawn, then they headed for the ultrasound examination.
She did not know if she was pregnant with just a baby or twins. All she knew was that the doctor told her that she had a high level of HCG the last time she had her blood drawn, and the doctor inferred that she may be pregnant with twins. Having known that, Grace was excited, but she kept her excitement in to see the results that day.
She looked forward to having another pair of twins. She would be satisfied living with four children.
If it was really twins, she thought to herself that she wouldn't have to go through another pregnancy anymore. But then again, fate had a way of playing out. She wondered and thought about it as she laid nervously on the bed, waiting to see her ultrasound results.
The moment the sonographer put the machine on her belly, Grace's heart jumped a little. This time, the feelings she felt were different than the time she had Little Gary and Ernest.
That time, she was extremely uneasy and felt fearful.
But now, she was looking forward to it.
She gently closed her eyes and waited for the result.
"Ah!" the sonographer shouted in surprise.
"What's wrong?" Grace asked. She quickly opened her eyes and turned to look at the screen.
"It's twins!" The sonographer looked at her and said excitedly, "Mrs. Jones, congratulations to you and Mr. Jones! This time you are blessed with twins again."
Grace's mind went blank in an instant.
Whatever she felt at the moment was indescribable, other than saying that it was pure ecstasy and joy.
Yes, it was joy and ecstasy. It filled up her entire heart.
She looked at the sonographer and her body trembled uncontrollably with excitement. Then, she asked, "Really? Are they twins? Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm pretty sure. The ultrasound is a precise instrument. It can't be wrong, and it seems to be fraternal twins."
Grace muttered in astonishment, "My first pregnancy was also the same. I have two boys, and this time they are twins again."
Oh gosh.
She really couldn't believe her ears. She couldn't believe that she was so lucky.
The sonographer laughed. "I have heard about that. Mrs. Jones, you're really lucky. It's not easy to be pregnant with twins. You probably have something different with you inside your body. Perhaps your family has a history of giving birth to twins?"
Grace shook her head. "No, I don't. It's just that my period doesn't come on time and it isn't regular."
"It doesn't matter. Someone like you, who has abnormal periods, may ovulate two or three eggs at a time, but normally a woman will only ovulate one egg at a time. You're doing fine. Don't put any pressure on yourself." The sonographer was very kind and comforted her.
"Thank you." Grace gradually relaxed.
Throughout this time, Heinz was waiting outside the room.
More than ten minutes later, the sonographer said to Grace, "Everything is normal and in good condition. The next ultrasound is set to be done in four months, and then we'll have a large-scaled anomaly examination. Just relax, Mrs. Jones."
"Okay," Grace got up from the bed and tidied up her clothes. Her palms were sweaty. She didn't know why she was so nervous, but she was really happy and wanted to cry for no reason. "Mrs. Jones, you can head out first. We'll send you the report once it's done. Can you wait for a few minutes at the door?"
"Okay, thank you." She nodded and walked towards the door.
Heinz had his eyes fixated nervously at the door. The moment he saw Grace coming out, he released a sigh and walked over to hold her hand. Then, he said in a low voice, "How was it?"
As they held each other's hands, they could feel that each other's palms were sweaty. Feeling that, he became even more nervous and asked, "Grace, what's going on? Tell me how it was. Why are you all sweaty?"
Her nose twitched. She looked at Heinz and tears welled up in her eyes. She buried her face in his arms and burst into tears.
He was completely shocked. He held her in his arms and cried out nervously, "Grace, what's wrong? Is there any problem with the child? Don't cry. Answer me. You will scare me to death."
She shook her head and clutched his waist tightly. With a muffled voice, she spoke as she was still embraced in his arms, "Heinz, the child is fine. It's just..."
"Just what?" He frowned and lifted up her face. He looked at her and comforted her, "Don't be afraid. I'll protect you. I'll bear the responsibility if there's anything wrong."
She stopped crying and laughed. Then, she cried out, "Tw... Twins again."
"What?" He was astonished. He couldn't believe it. "What did you say? Are they unhealthy? Why are you crying? Why would you cry if it was twins?"
He asked a series of questions in a row, but she continued crying tears of happiness.
"
"I... I am just too happy. I don't know how to express my feelings. When I see you, I am so excited that I just want to cry. Heinz, it's twins. I don't know if they are a boy or a girl, but there are two babies." She grabbed his arm. "I am so happy and excited."
