Yvonne felt helpless.

"It looks like you won't be revealing anything."

"Miss Attwood, it'll be best for you to ask him directly."

"If I could ask him directly, do I still have to ask you?" She grabbed the keys resentfully and said, "Well, since you're here to deliver the keys, could you send me over to my unit as well? This way, I can save on taxi fares."

Aidan was startled for a moment. Then, he smiled and nodded, "Okay."

He wasn't didn't expect things to go so smoothly.

She then said, "Mr. Simpson, please wait for a while. I'll quickly pack up my belongings and check out of this room."

"Okay, Miss Attwood. You can take your time."

"Thank you." She immediately turned around and entered the room to get her belongings.

She called the receptionist to check out first.

Then, she proceeded to pack up her luggage hastily. The whole process only took at most 5

minutes.

Aidan was surprised.

After the check out procedures were completed, Yvonne got into the car. He then drove her to the unit where she used to stay.

After arriving, he parked the car and helped her with her luggage. Soon, they reached the entrance of her unit. He said to her, "Miss Attwood, please enter your unit. I'll go back to the office now." "Well, please share Zachary's phone number with me," she said.

He was taken aback. He asked, "Don't you have his number already?"

"No," she said. "You can give it to me. Don't worry, I won't let him know that I got his number from you."

"Erm..."

"Is it really impossible for you to share it with me?" Yvonne asked, "I'll replace out eventually anyway. I'm just hoping to be able to contact him if anything happens."

"I'm sorry," Aidan shook his head, "I'll have to ask for his permission first."

"Must it be so troublesome?" She was shocked. She then spread out her hands in a helpless manner, "Okay, go ahead and ask him then."

In reality, she wasn't sure if he would agree to share his contact number.

It was so unfair that he could contact her at any time, whereas she would probably have to go to his office if she wanted to look for him.

"President," Aidan had already called him. "Miss Attwood would like to have your phone number."

"Did she resist going to her unit?"

"She's already outside her unit. She accepted the key willingly."

Zachary paused for a moment before saying, "Understood."

He then hung up the call.

Aidan was startled. He wasn't sure whether he had the President's consent to share his phone number.

So, should he share it or not?

Yvonne was looking at him eagerly, "Well, what did he say?"

He shook his head, "I'm sorry, Miss Attwood. Our President did not give his consent in sharing his phone number, so I'm afraid I won't be able to give it to you."

"I knew this would happen." She wasn't angry at all, "Then when you're back in the office, can you ask Zachary when he would like to see me? I want to meet my daughter." He paused for a moment before nodding, "Sure."

She continued, "Oh, do ask him what we should do regarding last night as well."

"Last night?" He felt taken aback.

"Just repeat those words to him. He will understand."

"Alright then." Aidan didn't ask for more details.

Soon, he left.

Yvonne opened the door and carried her luggage inside.

As soon as she entered her unit, she was shocked.

The room looked the same as it did a year ago. It was very clean and neat, as if someone had cleaned it up beforehand.

It looked like someone indeed had cleaned it when she was away.

At first glance, Yvonne saw a photo of her daughter and herself on the shelf. Next to it, was another photo of Zachary and their daughter. The little girl had grown taller.

She looked very well-behaved when she was being carried by Zachary. Her facial features grew to look even more similar to that of her father. She immediately rushed to the shelf, picked up the photo, and looked at it carefully.

This was

daughter; her daughter whom she had been missing for so long.

She really missed her so much.

She hugged the photo of her daughter and Zachary tightly, tears welling up in her eyes.

How could she not miss her?

Her heart yearned to see her daughter badly.

She couldn't wait to see her immediately.

However, things don't always go according to one's wishes.

Soon, Aidan arrived back at the company and went directly to Zachary's office.

He reported everything to him in detail.

After hearing everything, Zachary frowned.

Aidan continued, "I just don't understand what Miss Attwood was referring to when she said 'last night'. All she said was that you would understand what it meant." Zachary was stunned for a moment and he blushed unconsciously.

Aidan was shocked to see his face flushed red.

It was the first time he had seen the President reacting this way.

It took Aidan a while to regain his senses.

"President, I didn't share your phone number with Miss Attwood in the end."

"I know," Zachary said in a deep voice. "You can leave now."

Aidan could only leave.

As soon as he left, Zachary was left alone in his own office. He leaned back in his chair and stared at a corner mindlessly.

When the school session ended in the afternoon, he had gone to school and picked up Maria without informing his mother.

As a result, they bumped into each other at the school entrance.

Nerissa was very shocked, "Why are you here?"

"I came to pick Maria up," he answered.

"Forget it, don't you know what you should be focusing on instead?"

"What?" He was startled as he looked at his mother.

"Now you have to hurry up and not waste anymore time. You've wasted so much time by taking it so slowly. You should quickly go and replace Yvonne and ask her what is going on." "Mom!" Zachary shook his head, "This is something that cannot be rushed."

"Of course I understand that I can't get what I want by being nervous, but you definitely can't achieve anything when you just sit around and do nothing," Nerissa sighed. "Hurry now. I'll let Maria know about this. She's definitely going to be thrilled."

He attempted to say something else, but his mother insisted that he leave immediately.

He had no choice but to drive off in his car.

While he drove around aimlessly due to boredom, Maria called him, "Daddy, Grandma just told me that I will be having a younger brother or sister soon. Is that true?"

He was alarmed.

"Dad, are you feeling shy?" Maria's voice sounded slightly proud, "Go ahead. I won't annoy Grandma. I'll be a very good and well-behaved child."

"Maria," he said. "I know you will be well-behaved, but some things have to be taken slowly."

"Daddy, all the girls in my class like overbearing CEOS," she said. "They don't like gentlemen."

He was rendered speechless.

"Go ahead and bring Mommy back after you punish her. I've thought about it, although she made me very angry, she's still my mommy after all. It will be cruel of me to abandon her, so I would still like to have her back."

These were Maria's true words from her heart.

Upon hearing what she said, he pondered for a while before answering with a slightly bitter tone, "You're a good child. I understand."

"Then, can I rest assured that you will consider it?"

"Of course you can." He knew that his daughter was smart, so naturally he wouldn't hide much from her. She would understand when he put it this way.

"Yay!" As expected, she quickly bid goodbye, "Bye bye, Daddy."
