True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1131
Zachary's phone suddenly vibrated due to an incoming message. He took a look and realized that it was a message from Yvonne.
He got her phone number from Grace.
He had saved her number in his phone for a long time.
Now, there was a message from her.
He frowned. Aidan did not share his phone number with her and neither did Grace. Then, how did she manage to get hold of his phone number?
He drove the car to the side of the road, stopped the engine, and checked the message.
It read, "I'm Yvonne. We didn't use any contraceptive methods last night, should I take the morning after pill?"
Zachary's blood rushed to his brain in an instant.
He looked at the text message and did not move for quite a while.
After a long period of time, he finally drove to Yvonne's unit.
When he opened the door with his key, she was having dinner.
The spicy aroma from her dish filled the whole unit. He could smell it from right where he stood.
She had heard her doorknob turn and she turned towards its direction. She was shocked to see a tall, sturdy figure standing at the entrance of her unit. How did he come by so soon?
She immediately stood up and walked towards him. He remained at the entrance.
Seconds later, she was face to face with him. Yvonne said, "I can't believe you're really here. I thought you wouldn't come."
Zachary looked indifferent as he stared down at her.
His gaze alone was able to make her feel numb all over. In fact, she was beginning to think that he was born to dominate her. Her legs went limp and she almost fell to the floor.
She was in such a regrettable state that she kept her head lowered and wouldn't look him in the eyes.
He remained silent and walked into the unit after taking another glance at her.
She was a little perplexed so she quickly reached out and grabbed him.
She grabbed his sleeve.
Just like how she did the day before.
Zachary frowned, stopped in his tracks and looked at her again.
Yvonne hesitated for a bit but still raised her eyes to look at him, "When are you finally going to let me meet my daughter?"
"That depends on how you behave," he sounded cold.
She frowned slightly and looked conflicted, "Can you even fathom how much I miss her?"
"I can't." He interrupted her in a deep voice, "It's been more than a year already, so you can wait for a while longer."
She was rendered speechless.
Sorrow welled up in her eyes and she wanted to say something. However, in the next second, he held her wrist with a tight grip.
She was caught off guard and could only raise her head. When her eyes met his, she felt her heart skip a beat.
In a cold tone, he said, "You're being too greedy."
She fell silent.
Indeed.
She was being greedy, and she wouldn't have returned if it wasn't due to her greed.
There was so much that she longed for.
She couldn't deny any of these.
She just wanted her daughter, wanted Zachary, and wanted the three of them to be able to live together. Even if she had to break her promise, she still wanted to get together with him. However, how could she let him know all these?
She stepped forward a little, looked at him, and said gently, "Aren't you greedy as well? You already did that with me on the first day I arrived." "Are you referring to s*x?" Zachary asked her directly.
Yvonne's face reddened.
His eyes turned darker. He took out a box of medicine and said, "I'm here to deliver the morning after pill."
She was startled. She realized that the message she sent him hadn't brought her the results she wanted.
He was there to deliver the medicine.
She looked at the box of medicine in his hand. It was the morning after pill that was meant to be taken within 72 hours. She felt disappointed.
Oh well.
She took the medicine in her hand and said, "Okay, I'll take it. I get what you mean."
Zachary narrowed his eyes.
Yvonne broke free from him and said, "I'll take the pill now. Help yourself to some food in the meantime."
She quickly poured a glass of water, opened the box and read the instructions for taking the pill. Soon after, she swallowed one.
His eyes narrowed again. He looked like he was about to make a move.
Suddenly, she looked at him and smiled, "It should be alright now? I've taken the pill, and I'll take the other one later in accordance with the instructions.
His eyes turned cold and he walked towards her. He seemed angry, but he wasn't releasing his anger.
As he approached her, he never took his eyes off hers.
She felt a little awkward. She lowered her head subconsciously to avoid looking at him.
She realized that she was still weak and could never face him squarely. So she relented and decided to hide from his gaze.
Zachary had thought that she would resist taking the pill.
Yet, she took the pill so willingly.
He didn't know how to release all his pent up anger.
He felt dejected.
Yvonne, with her head lowered, seemed to be unbothered.
He pursed his lips, and asked, "Yvonne, did you think that you'll always have a chance when our daughter is staying with me?"
Her heart skipped a beat and she suddenly looked up. Upon meeting his gaze, she started feeling more uncertain and frightened.
She shook her head but then nodded again.
Indeed, she had thought of it before, but she didn't dare confirm it.
"What are you going to do?" He asked again. His voice was as cold as a winter breeze.
The uneasiness in her heart was growing gradually and she could no longer bear it. She took a deep breath and paused for a long while.
"Speak," he urged her again in a deep voice.
Yvonne had reached her limit. She became calmer than before. Her eyes, which were initially full of fear, were now calm and quiet. She looked him directly in the eye and said, "I'm back to visit our child."
His eyes suddenly narrowed as he smiled coldly, "Do you really care about her?"
"Of course," she answered quickly.
In fact, I don't just care about her. I care a lot about you as well.
However, some words would be best left unspoken, especially since he wouldn't believe her anyway.
"Really?" He sneered again and said, "If that was true, then why would you disappear for a whole year?"
"I have my reasons," she said.
"Such as?" He pressed on.
She was speechless. She looked at Zachary, and there were waves of emotions behind her eyes, "I'm sorry, I can't tell you."
"Ha." He chuckled and said, "You can't tell me? Yvonne, do you really think that you could easily fool me with your lies? Or maybe you thought that I am stuck with you forever?"
"I don't know if you will stick with me or not," she responded hurriedly but couldn't continue to finish the rest of her sentence.
Then, she continued to say, "But I will absolutely spend the rest of my life with you."
However, how could she say that out loud?
Would he even believe her?
He was in such a rage.
"Zachary," Yvonne tried her best to persuade him, "I know that my request may be too over the top, but please, let me meet our daughter. I really miss her. I'll do anything you want as long as you let me see her even if it's just for a short while."
He glared at her. He was really furious with her greediness.
He snorted and said, "Do you really promise to do whatever I'll ask you to do?"
