True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1154
This question caused Yvonne to be stumped at once. She wasn't expecting Miss Harrison to be so straightforward, to the point where she wasn't sure of what to answer. If she chose not to answer her question, she would probably seem pretentious.
However, it was difficult for her to answer it considering the current circumstances of their relationship.
Moreover, she was uncertain as to what was going through Zachary's mind.
She had to answer carefully or risk becoming more passive about it in the future.
However, this was a question that she had to answer, not to mention a question that she had to answer carefully to prevent the others from perceiving her as dishonest.
Facing Miss Harrison's expectant gaze with a tinge of jealousy, Yvonne smiled and said, "I wish we were, President Lowe is so good looking. I would be so blessed to be able to be with him." This way, she could answer the question without having to lie.
Miss Harrison was startled for a while, then her gaze which was initially filled with jealousy became clearer with more understanding.
She was shocked as she hadn't thought that Yvonne would express her inner thoughts and wishes so directly and honestly. If anything, she saw Yvonne as a truthful and nice person. She smiled warmly.
It seemed as if she had included Yvonne in her team.
"Yeah, your wishes are very understandable considering how handsome he is. You have no idea how many women would wish to be with him."
That wasn't surprising.
Yvonne took the opportunity to ask, "What about you, Miss Harrison?"
"Of course I wish for that as well," Miss Harrison did not conceal her thoughts either, "However, President Lowe is someone who is only meant to be admired from afar. Considering how special he is, I wonder what kind of woman would be a good match for him."
A good match for Zachary?
Yvonne evaluated herself internally and thought of how outstanding Zachary was in everyone's eyes, so outstanding that not just any woman would be able to match up with him. That was indeed the truth.
Yvonne quickly snapped back to reality. She smiled at Miss Harrison and took a sip of coffee before responding, "That's right, President Lowe is so amazing that those who admire him don't even dare to approach him."
"Yvonne, now that you have suddenly entered the company as President Lowe's personal assistant, all of us assume that you certainly have some special relationship with him." Yvonne thought to herself, "Miss Harrison is really trying to extract useful information from me, looks like she isn't going to stop until she gets what she wants."
Yvonne smiled and shook her head, "It is all a coincidence. President Lowe thinks that I might be able to take up this role, but deep down I understand that I may have to leave after a short period of time." "Are you really planning to leave before you have even started working?" Miss Harrison was dumbfounded, "Do you have any idea how many people wish to work in this company?"
Oh no.
Yvonne's heart thumped.
Her behavior made her seem as if she wasn't a typical fangirl.
This wasn't the type of behavior that should be exhibited by a typical fangirl.
She laughed and took another sip of coffee, "I know, that's why I don't feel confident at all. Who knows whether President Lowe will be satisfied with me, sigh. I'll just take things one step at a time. Let's say if President Lowe really plans to dismiss me later on, I hope that you will speak up for me so that I won't have to leave so soon."
"Don't worry about that," Miss Harrison waved her hand and said, "As long as you're a nice person with a good relationship with us, we will certainly help you out when needed."
There was a condition for everything at all times.
Yvonne lifted her coffee cup and smiled, "Thank you, I'll have to go now."
"Go ahead," Miss Harrison stared at her from the back in a daze, thinking of how gentle and sweet she was although she didn't look like a simple woman.
As soon as Yvonne left, another female secretary, Isabelle Allen, appeared in the pantry.
She immediately lowered her voice and asked Miss Harrison, "How was it? Did you manage to replace out anything from her?"
Xandra shook her head, "I couldn't get anything valuable from her, but she said she is also an admirer of President Lowe. Now, I really have no idea why he allowed her to work for him." "President Lowe's admirer?" Isabelle opened his eyes wide and asked, "Did she admit it herself?"
"Yeah," Miss Harrison nodded with a strange expression, "Impressive, isn't it? She could admit it so openly."
Isabelle pursed her lips, "I'm really looking forward to replaceing out her background now. I wonder how she is related to President Lowe."
"She didn't say," Miss Harrison responded, "Let's go, we might get gossiped on if we spend too much time here."
Soon, the two of them walked out with a cup of coffee for themselves.
Yvonne followed Aidan's instructions and looked at her job scope as she thought of how she could excel at the tasks that Zachary had given her.
A personal assistant is in charge of every aspect of their boss's life. They have to handle it well without mistakes, or risk creating problems for their boss.
She thought to herself, "If I wish to get back together with Zachary, I have to perform to the best of my ability."
She couldn't allow Zachary to look down on her.
She certainly couldn't put him in a tight spot as well. She wanted to prove to everyone that she would be able to handle her job well.
This way, those who were wishing to watch a good show could give up.
The tasks Aidan briefed her were rather general, nothing was mentioned in detail. Hence, she had to put in extra effort to comprehend her job. While she was sorting out the information, she realized that there was a difference between the Zachary she knew, versus the current Zachary.
Just as she was in a daze, the telephone on her desk rang.
She startled for a split second before picking it up, "Hello."
"I want a cup of tea," Zachary spoke with a deep voice.
Yvonne immediately understood that Zachary had given her a call from his office.
She quickly hung up the phone.
As she wasn't done organizing the details yet, she was uncertain about much information, including whether there was a private pantry in his office.
She observed the design of Zachary's office and deduced that there was probably one in his office.
Therefore, Yvonne got up and headed to the President's office. When she knocked on the door, Zachary responded from inside.
"Come in."
Yvonne pushed open the door and entered. What caught her eyes was the spacious, bright, and minimalistic design of Zachary's large office.
There was a large row of bookshelves in one corner.
Right in front of her was a sofa in the leisure area.
Behind a wall-like bookshelf was a private pantry, reserved for Zachary and the guests in his office.
She was right.
After Yvonne entered, she hesitated on whether she had to close the door.
Zachary looked up at her and ordered, "Close the door."
"Yes!" With a calm demeanor, Yvonne closed the door.
Then, she went to the pantry and washed her hands before proceeding to make a cup of coffee for him.
Zachary stared at her without saying a single word.
He was staring at how she was making a cup of coffee for him so obediently without looking at him. Upon smelling the coffee, he frowned, but Yvonne quickly found the switch for the exhaust fan. She switched it on to clear up the air.
Whatever Zachary wished to say remained stuck in his throat.
After she was done, Yvonne brought the cup of coffee to Zachary's desk and placed it there.
Zachary took a look and accepted it. After taking a sip, he asked Yvonne, "Did you learn how to make coffee before?"
Yvonne nodded, "Yeah, I did."
"When you were in the United States?" Zachary asked again.
Yvonne nodded, "Yes."
"You're adept at coffee making, the coffee isn't bad. Looks like you make it often." While Zachary sounded indifferent, he was also trying to probe for further information.
