Gary merely stared at her without saying a word. He swept a glance over her body and landed his gaze on her wet clothes. The material of her clothes was thin, so it accentuated the curves of her body upon getting wet.

Sweet sixteen, the age where a girl would transfer from a budding flower into a blooming flower.

Gary's gaze darkened a little before he turned away to look out of the window instead.

It was still raining.

Celeste was wiping the rain droplets off her face. Her hair was very wet, so a few pieces of tissue weren't enough to dry it.

Therefore, she gave up on it and merely wiped her face dry.

"Gary, why are you here?" Celeste asked Gary out of curiosity as she was shocked at how he had appeared at such an appropriate timing.

Gary turned to look at her. Right then, she looked really innocent and lovely, and they were close enough for him to smell her faint but pleasant fragrance.

"I just happened to pass by." Celeste found Gary's excuse to be a bit unbelievable.

Without caring what she thought of it, Gary took out his phone and gave Lester a call.

"Mr. Lester, book a room for me."

Lester answered, "Master Gary, your whole family is waiting for you back here."

"I know," Gary said, "Book a hotel room for me. I can only go back an hour later."

"What are you planning to do?"

"Don't ask, and don't tell your president either." Gary responded deeply, "I'm sure you're aware of how well I can hold a grudge."

Lester held his phone as he wailed in his heart; this brat had threatened him for so many years. However, he also understood that Gary was smart enough not to get himself in trouble, so he wasn't worried about it.

"Okay, I'll book a room for you."

"Thank you."

"Master Gary, please don't be so polite to me. I'll feel scared." Lester hung up the phone quickly.

Two minutes later, Gary received a message with the details of the room number and address.

He shared the address with the driver.

Celeste was taken aback. She looked up at Gary and asked, "Why did you book a room?" "For you to stay," Gary answered.

"I can go back to my place," Celeste responded.

"Your place is filled with paparazzi," Gary said.

"How... How did you know?" Celeste was appalled, "Did you go there just now?"

A subtle expression flashed across Gary's face. It appeared that he didn't really want to tell the truth as he merely said, "I happened to pass by your area."

Celeste was startled and wondered, "Could he really be free enough to pass by two different areas just as he is about to leave the country?"

Celeste felt hesitant after thinking about it. She couldn't help but take a deep look at him without saying anything.

It was still raining heavily outside.

The driver drove pretty quickly, so they arrived at the hotel soon enough.

After completing the check-in procedures, Gary ordered the guest service team to prepare a set of clean clothing for Celeste before sending her upstairs.

As soon as they entered the room, Gary examined it thoroughly. He walked toward the bathroom door and said, "Go and take a shower. Your clothes should arrive soon. This room is safe; it's booked under the Jones Estate, so you can stay in peace for a night."

Celeste looked at him hesitantly.

"Why are you still here?" Gary rushed her, "You're so cold that you're shivering already."

Celeste still asked quickly, "Will you be leaving?"

"I'll leave once your clothes are here," Gary responded.

Celeste thought for a moment and figured that the clothes probably wouldn't be here so soon, so she had to hurry up and shower.

Hence, she entered the bathroom.

Outside, Gary walked toward the window. He stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and looked outside.

The whole city was drenched under the heavy rain.

The family gathering was ongoing, but he wasn't present.

At this moment, the sound of running water could be heard coming from the bathroom. Gary narrowed his eyes as he took a glance at the bathroom door. Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.

He went to open the door.

"Hello, here are the clothes as requested," A service member delivered the clothes, which were prepared according to Gary's requirements.

"Thank you," Gary said nonchalantly.

The service member looked at him in a way as if he wished to say something.

"Is there anything else?" Gary asked.

The service member smiled awkwardly and said, "Well, young man, although you and the girl just now are pretty tall, I still noticed that the both of you are still underage, so I'm just worried that the policemen will be looking for you guys."

Gary was taken aback. He looked at the service member in an appalled manner and responded instantly, "I'm leaving in an instant. What are you thinking?"

The service member immediately smiled, "Oh, alright then. I was just worried for the Jones Estate's reputation, especially considering how Mr. Lester was the one who booked this room."

Gary took the clothes quickly and closed the door. He was speechless.

He checked the clothes to ensure that Celeste had everything that she needed. Then, he placed the clothes on the bed.

Then, he walked toward the door and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, the bathroom door opened.

Celeste walked out wearing a huge, white bathrobe, which made her lower legs extra skinny while her skin was fair and pinkish.

Her long hair, which was still wet, hung down. Her eyes looked misty as she stood by the door cautiously. However, she looked at him in a firm yet stubborn manner. "Gary," Celeste said, "Don't leave yet."

Gary pursed his lips and directed his gaze elsewhere. He paused his hand from opening the door as he responded in a flustered manner, "I have something else to attend to."

"I know," Celeste said, "I just wanted to ask, how did you know that I would be there just now? Also, how did you know that there were paparazzi in front of my house?"

Gary did not look at her.

Celeste thus walked toward him.

Gary was startled as he looked into Celeste's eyes. Her eyes were clear, with a tinge of persistent doubt.

Gary's face appeared to be relatively calm as he responded indifferently, "I just happened to pass by." "Why was it so coincidental?" Celeste felt that it was understandable if he had only passed by a single area. However, passing by both areas seemed to be too much of a coincedence and even suspicious.

Gary looked at her. His eyes blurred for a bit as he asked in return, "If it wasn't just a coincidence, what else could it be?"

Celeste pursed her lips and gathered her courage to ask, "You... Were you there to look for me?"

Gary's expression changed slightly as he answered, "You're overthinking."

Celeste looked at him and bit her lips, "Am I really overthinking? These two areas are in opposite directions from each other. You have a family gathering today, and I know you're supposed to bid everyone farewell, yet you appeared in front of my house instead of where you were supposed to be. You even appeared in front of where I was just now, so I really can't help but overthink this."

Gary turned to look at her and asked, "Celeste White, why should I look for you? You don't think that I want to ask you to go to the United States with me once more, do you?" Celeste was startled for awhile, then nodded her head.

Gary sneered. His eyes suddenly turned cold as he looked at her. Word-by-word, he said, "Then, tell

me, if I ask you to go with me now, would you?" Celeste hesitated and asked, "Will Ernest going?"

be

Once again, Gary smiled in a desolate manner.

Celeste's heart tightened, and she felt uncomfortable, "Look, you're still behaving the same way. Why can't you bear to have Ernest be there?"

"Because a path that's meant for two people does not require a third person."

Celeste widened her eyes as her face slowly wrinkled up.
