Sinclair continued walking without saying a word.

The receptionist immediately went to stop him.

However, Sinclair's assistant blocked the receptionist's path.

Sinclair went straight into the elevator and to Zachary's office. By then, Zachary had received a call from the front desk and knew that Sinclair was coming.

He had his assistant wait in front of the elevator.

Soon, Sinclair was walking into Zachary's office. They exchanged polite greetings, pretending as if nothing had happened.

Sinclair smiled. "Mr. Lowe, let's not beat around the bush. You know I'm here about Liam's contract."

"Please go ahead, Mr. Stone."

"200 million dollars," Sinclair said. "You might not know about this clause in Liam's contract, but he has to pay a hefty penalty if he breaks the contract. He's made a lot of money from the Theclair Group, so 200 million dollars isn't too much to ask."

Zachary smiled. "200 million dollars is a huge amount. I wouldn't agree to that, Mr. Stone."

"Does that mean you're not willing to pay that much?" Sinclair asked. He had understood Zachary's meaning immediately.

Zachary nodded. "That's right."

"Then I don't think there's any need for us to continue talking," Sinclair replied with a smile.

Zachary nodded again. "Yes, I think we should take this to court. If not, neither of us will be satisfied with the terms."

"Mr. Lowe, Liam leaving Theclair Group is a breach of contract. Therefore, the penalty for breach of contract must be paid. That's only right," Sinclair explained.

"Yes, I don't deny that. However, Theclair Group didn't completely fulfill its contractual obligations either. It's been a year and three months since Liam graduated, but he hasn't booked any jobs since. That's a breach of contract as well, no?"

Sinclair narrowed his eyes as if he was sizing up the situation.

Zachary's tone was calm as he continued, "Well offer 50 million dollars as the termination fee. If you accept our offer, we can reach an agreement quicker. If you don't accept, it'll be 20 million dollars tomorrow." Sinclair was stunned, and his gaze darkened.

Zachary was still very confident and calm, and he did not seem ruffled at all. It seemed like he had planned it all out long before.

After a while, Sinclair replied, "I don't think I can accept your terms. See you in court."

"Very well. See you there." Zachary nodded.

Sinclair had no choice but to stand up. "Then I'll take my leave."

He walked out quickly.

Meanwhile, Zachary remained as cool as a cucumber.

Sinclair stormed out of Lowe Group angrily.

Later that evening.

Sinclair met Monica at his office. "I asked for 200 million dollars for Liam's breach of contract. However, Zachary insisted on giving us only 50 million dollars. He that if we didn't accept his offer today, it would go down to 20 million dollars tomorrow."

She frowned when she heard that. "That's too little. No, we can't take this lying down."

"Yeah, so it's best if we take this to court," he replied.

"It's hard to estimate how much Cindy's scandals have cost the company. If we go to court over Liam's contract termination, Theclair Group will appear weak," she reminded him.

"If we don't take it to court, then wouldn't our artists think that they'd be able to breach their contract however they liked?" he retorted.

"It's fine if he wants to dissolve the contract. Make him sign a confidentiality agreement not to disclose the amount of the termination fee he paid. With that, the amount is anyone's guess. However, it will all be exposed if we go to court," Monica said.

Sinclair was stunned. "Do you mean that we'll accept the 50 million dollars?"

"50 million dollars is fine. We have the ability to produce more young stars like Liam. There are plenty of aspiring artists out there, so we can get someone new and make it big again. Furthermore, it'll be good press for Theclair Group if Liam becomes famous again elsewhere. I think it's fine to concede this time," she explained.

Sinclair gave Monica's words some thought before he sighed. "But I told him I'd take it to court. Do you want me to back down?"

"You can contact Liam. Just speak to him directly," she suggested.

Sinclair chuckled. "You truly know me very well. You've thought of everything."

Monica smiled. "Are you regretting marrying Suanne now?"

Sinclair's face paled, and he replied, "Why did you bring her up? What a killjoy."

Monica sneered sarcastically. "I still can't get in touch with Michael. I don't know where that guy has gone."

"I don't think he has the guts to face anyone after the scandal broke. Michael is smart. He's not someone that's easily defeated," he said.

"You know him very well, don't you? Cindy means to say that he knows about us." Monica gave him a pointed look.

"So what? Isn't he with Cindy?" Sinclair smiled. "We should enjoy our life while we still can. He'll understand."

She shook her head and said, "I have a bad feeling for some reason. It's strange."

"Let me call Liam first. Stay and listen to our conversation," he said.

Monica nodded. "Okay, go ahead."

Sinclair took out his phone and called Liam.

Liam and Maria were about to have dinner when the phone rang.

Liam frowned when he saw Sinclair calling. "It's from Sinclair."

Maria was stunned. "Your boss?" "Yes," he replied, nodding.

"He must have something to discuss with you. Why don't you answer it and see what he says?" she suggested.

Liam nodded. "Okay, I'll take the call."

Not wanting to hide anything from Maria, he put the call on speakerphone.

"Hello, Mr. Stone." Liam's tone was calm and without any emotion. It was rather admirable.

"Hello, Liam. Must you make such a big fuss over the termination of your contract?" Sinclair asked, chuckling.

Liam laughed lightly and replied, "It's not that I want to make a big fuss. I'm an artist, and I know that this won't bring any benefit to me. However, I won't be able to break my contract without any countermeasures, right?"

"Looks like you're hell-bent on terminating the contract," Sinclair remarked with a laugh. "You must know that you'll have to pay a termination fee if you break the contract before the end date." "Thanks for reminding me. I'm aware of the terms," Liam answered.

"Are you confident you can bring in huge profits to your next boss?" Sinclair asked.

"It's still too early to talk about the future. Let's focus on the here and now." Liam kept his cool, and he refused to divulge too much information to Sinclair.

He did not actually have much of an impression of Sinclair, and what little he had of Sinclair was bad. In fact, Liam felt that Sinclair was kind of a coward.

"I asked Mr. Lowe for a termination fee of 200 million dollars," Sinclair said.

As soon as he said that, Liam sucked in a breath, and Maria was equally shocked.

"Liam, do you think it's worth it for Zachary to pay that much to see you free?" Sinclair pressed.

"You're right. I'm also doubting whether I'm worth 200 million dollars. Mr. Stone, you're asking for such an exorbitant amount," Liam replied, trying his best to keep his voice even. Maria immediately got up and grabbed Liam's hand, indicating for him to calm down.

She shook her head at him.

Liam calmed down right away as he looked into Maria's eyes.

He nodded.

"To be honest, 200 million dollars isn't a lot. The amount is stated in the contract, and it's a fair price," Sinclair continued.

"Then, why are you calling me? Mr. Lowe must have refused, that's why you're coming to me as a last resort." Liam expertly deciphered Sinclair's intentions.

Sinclair paused for a moment, then said with a soft chuckle. "He offered me 50 million dollars."

Maria and Liam exchanged glances.

50 million dollars was not a small sum, but neither was it unreasonable. If Liam took up the offer, he would regain his freedom.

That was Maria's opinion.

However, Liam still felt that it was too much.

He looked at Maria and said into the phone, "Mr. Stone, 50 million dollars is too much. I haven't booked a job in a long time. As per the contract, the company has neglected its duties because I've been out of work for half a year. So, we both breached the contract. Hence, I don't think I'll lose if we take this to court. How about this? You can speak to my lawyer if you have any other questions. I'm going to have dinne now. Goodbye."
