True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1652
Celeste's words startled them.
Gary lowered his head to look at her. She shook her head slightly at him, indicating that she was not afraid.
She had been a little scared at first. After all, this was the first time that she had received a phone call where someone threatened her life.
However, she composed herself quickly.
Her response made everyone in the room admire her.
It was not easy to still be able to speak rationally at such a time.
After hearing what she said, the person on the other end stopped laughing immediately. She even seemed a little flustered and cursed angrily, "B*tch, you'll surely die."
After cursing her, the person ended the call.
Celeste put down her phone, looked at Gary, and said, "It should be her."
"What a crazy woman." He gritted his teeth.
Liam frowned. "After such a large-scale scandal, she still dares to go abroad. I think she hasn't learned her lesson, so all of us should be careful in the future, especially Maria and Celeste." Ernest nodded. "Even though she threatened Celeste, I think she hates all of us."
"I think so too," Maria said, nodding. "My father helped Liam terminate his contract, even Uncle Jones was involved in it. She's bound to take revenge on us. We need to be careful." After thinking for a while, she added, "Let's replace out where she is and confirm whether it's her or not first. After that, we'll take action."
"But, how do we know where she is?" Maria mused, thinking hard. "I don't think it'll be that easy to replace her."
"Her old house," Gary replied. "Do you still remember the house Cindy bought four years ago?"
"So, you suspect that she's there?" Maria asked in surprise.
Gary nodded. "I think it's a possibility."
Liam shook his head. "No, she sold that house."
"Sold?" Maria looked at Liam in puzzlement. "But she made a lot of effort to purchase it."
"Liam, she still has the house," Gary said, giving him an unfathomable smile. "She made it publicly known that she sold it, but I know that she still has it."
"How did you know about that?" Liam asked, a little surprised.
"I hired someone to investigate her," Gary replied. "Ernest, why don't you join me to go over there and take a look?"
"No, it's too dangerous." Celeste shook her head immediately. "Don't go out."
"It's not dangerous." Gary looked at Celeste in amusement. "We'll just drive there and take a look. What's dangerous about that?"
"I'll go with you. Maria and Celeste can stay here," Liam offered.
"No. Don't go," Maria protested immediately. "Call Uncle Logan. Ask him to send someone to protect you."
"We have bodyguards," Gary answered reassuringly. "How about this? Since you girls are uneasy about it, let's go together and see what happens. Just think of it as an on-site investigation. We won't make a move."
They looked at each other.
"Let's go together then," Maria said excitedly.
After all, it would not be that scary if the five of them went together.
Cindy was in deep waters, so she might not be capable of doing much at the moment.
If she still wanted to cause trouble, then she was merely being overconfident.
Maria turned to Liam eagerly.
However, Liam was looking at Gary worriedly. "It's too dangerous to bring the two of them along. I still think it's too risky."
"What are you guys thinking?" Gary smiled and said, "We're just going to check the place out, not fight them."
"I'm going to get something," Ernest said. "I think it's better if we went together. That way, all of us can see it for ourselves and cast aside our doubts."
Then, he got up to get his drone.
Finally, they agreed to go together.
To ensure their safety and avoid suspicion, they only took one car.
Going out at night was not that big of a deal.
They headed to Cindy's villa.
"Does it have controlled access?" Liam asked as he drove. "Will we be able to drive in directly?"
"There is, but we'll be able to go straight in. I asked the butler for an access card when we left," Ernest said. "Just head straight in."
Sure enough, they were allowed in with the access card.
They drove in.
After a short while, they arrived at the property that Cindy purchased four years ago. From afar, they could see that the lights inside were turned on. "Someone's inside," Maria remarked as she pressed her forehead against the car window and looked out.
The car stopped right outside villa.
Ernest suggested, "I'll use the drone to see if it's her."
"That's a good idea."
He opened the car window and turned on the drone. Under Ernest's control, the drone soon took off and flew to the front of the house.
Maria was able to see the view from the drone using Ernest's phone.
She gave a little shriek and exclaimed, "Ah, I think it's her."
She saw the drone's camera focusing on the window on the second floor.
A woman in silk pajamas leaned against the side of the bed, and a man sat next to her. Each of them had a glass of wine in their hands.
After looking closely at the woman with the disheveled hair, they realized that it was Cindy.
"That's her," Celeste said with certainty after glancing at the image, "The man is Michael, her agent's husband."
Gary and Liam, who were in the front, turned around in surprise.
Puzzled, Maria asked, "Cindy escaped abroad with her agent's husband? Why? Shouldn't she be lying low while waiting for the news of the scandal to die down?"
"Her reputation is in shambles, so why would she care about that?" Ernest replied. "Look closely. That's them, right? I'll fly the drone around the house to see if there's anyone else in the house." "Okay."
The image on the phone changed as the drone flew to another part of the villa.
"There's no one else here. Who would be with them at this time anyway?" Maria asked.
Celeste was silent. Seeing that woman and Michael together without any shame, she felt her worldview shatter.
It seemed like she did not know Cindy at all.
"I'm sure there's no one else," Maria repeated.
Ernest said, "The two of them should be the only ones in the villa." "I heard that before she went abroad, she asked Sinclair for twenty million dollars and tens of thousands from Suanne," said Gary. "Apart from that money, she should have over two hundred million dollars in her account from the past four years from endorsement deals and sponsors. It should be enough money for her to live comfortably for the rest of her life."
Gary glanced at Liam as he spoke.
Liam looked back at him. "Your information should be reliable. She did take money from Madam Suanne and Sinclair."
"Her agent and boss were both involved in her scandal, so it's truly surprising that she was able to escape unscathed after all of that." Maria sighed. "I didn't expect her to behave like this even after coming to London. She really knows how to have fun with the men around her."
When she finished, no one spoke.
Everyone looked at Maria.
Sensing something amiss, she immediately looked at Celeste. Her face was expressionless.
She realized that what she had said was not pleasant to the ear. After all, Cindy was the one who had raised Celeste.
She sniffed and changed the subject. "So, what should we do next?" "I'll fly the drone around once more and have another look," Ernest said, "Just to make sure that there's no one place."
The camera panned over the second floor, and the scene they saw shocked them all.
Maria screamed. "Ah, I don't want to watch anymore."
She flipped the phone over and closed her eyes. The scene she saw was too much for her innocent eyes.
She had seen a man and a woman hugging each other in an intimate way. With just a glance, she knew what they were doing.
Celeste had not seen it, so she did not know what was going on. She took the phone, looked at it, and instantly turned it to face downward.
Both Gary and Liam were confused by their reactions.
Gary leaned forward to take the phone, then he and Liam looked at the screen.
The more he looked, the more stunned he was.
Liam started feeling a little awkward.
"Stop looking," Maria said immediately. "We should go back."
Gary said, "Ernest, record this."
Both Celeste and Maria looked at him in surprise.
Liam understood what Gary meant. "Record it as evidence. We may be able to use it."
"Tonight, send what you've captured to Cindy's agent, Monica. I'm sure that Monica will probably come all the way here in less than two days." Gary smiled cunningly. "At that time, they'll start to fight each other. All we have to do is sit back and watch."
