The butler did not answer. He continued to look at Gary silently with an aggrieved expression.

Noticing that he did not speak, Gary instantly furrowed his brows and said unhappily, "Hurry up and answer me if you heard me."

The butler was perplexed. He shouted indignantly, "Master Gary, didn't you tell me to keep my mouth shut? That's why I didn't dare to answer you."

At that moment, they heard someone burst out laughing from inside the room. It was Heinz.

He seemed to have found it particularly funny.

Gary was even more mortified. He glared at the butler before turning around and entering the room.

Heinz guffawed heartily. When he saw Gary walk in, he asked, "Gary, have you asked the butler whether dinner is ready? Why does it seem to me that you were merely standing by the door rather than going to the kitchen?"

Gary shot daggers at Heinz. "What's wrong with standing by the door? Did you see me not go to the kitchen?"

"Well, to be fair, I didn't see that." As he replied, Heinz could not help laughing again.

Grace also tittered alongside him.

Celeste lowered her head and covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Gary's gaze shifted from Heinz to Grace and finally to Celeste.

He could stand being laughed at by his parents, but he did not expect Celeste to do the same. How could Celeste be so ungrateful and do that to Gary? Gary wondered.

Sensing that a pair of eyes were staring at her with a penetrating gaze, Celeste lifted her head and saw his mournful eyes. Consequently, the smile froze on her face. However, it was only for a split second. She could not help raising the corners of her mouth with a shy yet cute look in her eyes.

In the end, she actually laughed aloud.

She made no effort to disguise her amusement. Gary wondered if it was really that funny.

A feeling of despondency descended on him.

There was a growing ardor in his gaze as he looked at Celeste.

Celeste noticed his eyes smoldering darkly.

It reminded her of how he gazed at her when they were in the throes of passion, and she felt as if she could drown in his intense gaze.

Celeste felt her heart skip a beat. She immediately withdrew her gaze, no longer daring to look at him.

At the same time, the butler entered the room with the food.

Gary also looked away and calmed himself down a little. He said softly to Celeste, "Come over and eat something first. After that, let's go upstairs to rest. You've been unconscious for a long time, so you need a lot of nutrition and more rest."

However, he emphasized on the word "rest".

His words and his amorous gaze made Celeste's heart start racing.

It seemed that Gary had dropped a hint.

He was implying something.

She quickly got up and said to Heinz and Grace, "Uncle Jones, Aunt Smith, I'm going to have my dinner. Do you want to join?"

"Go ahead. You must be hungry. We've already had ours. Let Gary accompany you as he hasn't eaten much either. He hasn't had much of an appetite and couldn't sleep when you were unconscious these two days. Both of you need to rest more," Grace replied meaningfully, giving Gary a knowing wink.

Celeste wondered if her ears and eyes had deceived her as she caught the emphasis in Grace's voice when she mentioned the word "rest" and the wink.

She felt a surge of fear.

However, she did not want to think about it and quickly went for her dinner.

The butler put down a dish, then went back to the kitchen to bring another dish. He did that several times until the table was laden with dishes.

The food was light but extremely nutritious. There were a lot of soups and high-protein food.

Just looking at them made Celeste feel hungry.

Gary pulled out a chair for her, then sat down to have dinner together.

Celeste had not eaten anything for a long time, thus she had some porridge first. Gary kept choosing the most nutritious dishes for her.

He passed dish after dish to her in a caring manner.

After making sure she had eaten quite a bit, he finally relaxed and began eating.

Even so, he continued to pass the other dishes to her. "Try this. It'll replenish your energy."

Previously, he would not talk much during mealtimes, and he would show restraint when he

looked at her.

But now, he suddenly raised his eyes and gazed at her. When he said the phrase "replenish your energy", his gaze was piercing, as though he wanted to devour her.

Celeste was so alarmed that her spoon almost clattered onto the table.

Fortunately, she reacted quickly and grabbed it.

Gary lowered his eyes to look at her. Seeing her response, the corners of his mouth curled up into a smile.

Celeste hurriedly lowered her head, not daring to look into his eyes.

She sat in silence for more than a minute.

After several mouthfuls of food, Gary said to Celeste in a husky voice, "Stop sitting around idly. Have your food. Hanging your head isn't going to help you. Some things in this world are inescapable." Startled, Celeste lifted her head to look at him. After a while, she whispered, "Your parents are nearby. Don't talk nonsense."

Gary placed more food on her plate, then looked at her with a faint smile. He whispered, "So, you're aware of their presence. Is that why you feel shy and guilty? You joined them in teasing me earlier. How are you going to make up for it? You must pay me back with interest."

Celeste pursed her lips and blushed.

She turned around subconsciously to look at the living room from afar and found that Grace and Heinz were chatting. They did not seem to have paid any attention to Gary and her.

Only then did Celeste feel relieved. However, once she turned back, she met Gary's wolfish gaze.

She raised her guard right away.

Subsequently, she kept her head low and continued eating. She did not want to look at Gary anymore.

Gary cracked a smile. "Do you think that they didn't hear our conversation?"

Celeste maintained a dignified expression without saying a word.

However, her earlobes, neck, and cheeks betrayed the fact that she was not as collected and unfazed as she seemed to be.

A flush of embarrassment crept to those parts of her body, tingeing them crimson. The lovely color betrayed her true feelings.

Gary smiled faintly as he continued, "They can hear us, and they're paying close attention to us. They have been married for so long, therefore they're well aware of what will happen in bed between a couple. Don't you think so?"

Upon hearing his words, Celeste's face turned completely red.

Gary laughed and continued to eat. He seemed to be in an upbeat mood.

After dinner, Celeste said goodnight to Grace and Heinz before she went upstairs.

As soon as they entered the room and before she could speak, she heard Gary locking the door. Then, he swept her up into his arms.

As her feet left the ground, she cried out in surprise. "Ahhh, what are you doing, Gary?"

"What do you think?" Gary asked, smiling.

Celeste's heart was beating wildly. She did not dare to look into his eyes as she was afraid that she would be fully charmed by him.
