Gary placed Celeste on the bed and gazed down at her with a roguish smile.

It sent her pulse racing when she looked up at his bloodshot eyes.

Concurrently, her heart also ached for him.

Pursing her lips, she stared dazedly at him for a long time before she gave an apology. "I'm sorry."

Gary quirked his good-looking eyebrows and asked, "Why did you say sorry?"

In fact, Gary was aware that she felt sorry for him because she took Heinz's side when they were bickering earlier.

She apologized for it, but she didn't seem to know him well.

He was not angry

Actually, he was very pleased that she had made the choice of building a good relationship with her future parents-in-law. This was what a smart wife should do. Such a woman would not put her man in an awkward position.

However, he intentionally wore a poker face and couldn't help teasing her. To him, it was entertaining to see her blush.

"For what happened downstairs," Celeste explained sheepishly in a low voice. "I didn't speak up for you, I just did what I thought I should do, but I feel sorry for you."

"Oh, so that's what you're talking about. Then, do you think an apology is enough to make up for it?" Gary purposely asked her with a somber expression.

Celeste's heart skipped a beat. After that, she took a close look at Gary, who laid on the bed, facing her.

Her gaze was fixed on his face. It wasn't until she observed it carefully for quite a while that she said, "No, but I'm apologizing sincerely."

Upon hearing her words, Gary once again lifted his attractive eyebrows. "Oh? Since you are so sincere, then tell me, where's your sincerity?"

Celeste gazed soberly at her and puckered her lips. While her heart was thumping violently, it seemed that she had made up her mind. Under his expectant eyes, she gently moved her face forward and stretched out her hands.

Hugging his neck, she said softly, "I can compensate you with myself. Wasn't this what you meant by trying so hard to give me a hint just now?"

When he heard this, Gary wrapped his hand around her waist and lowered his head to look at her.

There was a touch of weariness on her face since she had just come around from a long coma.

Gary's heart tightened, feeling that even though he had hinted on that, her body had not fully recovered. After all, she had just encountered a catastrophic event.

Severing ties with Cindy completely was a catastrophe.

It was not a walk in the park. Besides, she had scratched Cindy's face, which required extreme pluck and determination.

She had also fallen asleep for so long in the wake of that event.

After she woke up, she did not mention Cindy.

As a matter of fact, it was not that she had banished such thoughts from her mind. She just suppressed them in her heart.

Thinking of this, Gary's heart ached.

Despite his impulse to sleep with her, he felt disinclined to exhaust her. Therefore, he said, "Let's defer the compensation. When your body has recovered, you will have to pay me back in double."

To his surprise, Celeste moved forward. Her lips fell on his, and a kiss had been planted gently.

Gary gasped instantly.

"Celeste, don't try to light my fire. You know I can't hold it in when I'm with you. Do you understand?"

Celeste was also very embarrassed. Her body continuously trembled as she mustered her courage to mumble softly, "Don't you want me? I can do it. I think that there's nothing wrong with my body. I've rested well."

Gary was a little tempted, but he still tried to restrain himself. He carefully sized up her expression before he smiled and said, "Forget it. You've just fallen asleep for so long, hence you must be careful not to be worn out. I can't bear to do it."

Getting a little excited, Celeste explained hurriedly, "I'm fine, really."

Perceiving her eagerness, Gary was turned on. He asked, "Are you sure you can handle me?"

Celeste's face became redder and hotter. She was rather bashful to answer it as such words were too flirty and intimate.

Nevertheless, after she had gone through so many trials, she was more courageous than before. She looked at him and nodded gravely, saying, "Of course I can."

Hearing this, a smile spread across Gary's face in less than no time, revealing his pearly white teeth, and his heart leapt.

Looking into her eyes, he sought her confirmation. "Can you really? It's been a few days since we last did it. I might get rough."

Moreover, his current physical condition was definitely better than before.

Celeste plucked up her courage and nodded with a reddened face. "Of course, but you have to try to be lighter and gentler, okay?"

Gary immediately laughed while stroking her head. "My silly girl, there's no doubt that I'm going to be very gentle. Not only do I have to be gentle, but I also have to be more caring. But since you've agreed, then I won't hold back. You're the one who seduced me this time. You can't call it quits in the middle of it later."

His words caused her face to flush. She extended her hand to switch off the light. Consequently, the room was plunged into darkness.

They faced each other.

Gary was not anxious. He did it step by step.

He abided by his promise of not not being too aggressive. He was very considerate and gentle.

It was a delightful night for them.

Later, he turned on the lamp because he had to put on a condom. Celeste was thrilled when she saw his handsome face right in front of her.

She couldn't help kissing him when he was busy looking for the condom.

Gary paused for a moment, and then said in a hoarse voice, "Be patient, we have to make sure that nothing goes wrong."

He absolutely couldn't hurt her again.

She couldn't afford to have a miscarriage once more.

Celeste gave a sheepish grin right away.

After Gary had put it on, he covered her lips with his. Without switching off the lamp, he lowered his head to gaze at her and said passionately and tenderly, "Don't turn off the lights. I'm afraid I can't see it clearly."

He was afraid that he might impregnate her again if he wasn't careful.

This was what concerned him the most.

Her last experience of miscarriage had somewhat traumatized him.

Biting her lip, she didn't stop him.

In short, they had some wonderful moments.

He must have not slept throughout her coma. It had been two days since he closed his eyes and rested. In spite of his bloodshot eyes, he still tried his best to satisfy her. Celeste pondered on this. She was also very tired, but she did not sleep as she wanted to watch him fall asleep first.

At this moment, she was enjoying the serenity of the night while her whole body had been imbued by the manly scent of Gary, whom she snuggled beside motionlessly.

Following that, Cindy came to her mind. Appearance mattered so much to Cindy, she probably had a mental breakdown over her now ruined face.

As she thought about that, she fell into a slumber.
