Leah was shocked. Oh no, Ernest had found out about what happened. Why did she blabber to him?

She felt a little annoyed. Actually, she didn't want Ernest to worry about her.

Alas, she was a horrible liar and ended up telling the truth anyway.

Now that Ernest was holding her chin, his dark gaze pierced into her very soul.

She laughed drily before she fell silent for a few seconds. Then, she said, "It's not as bad as you think. Hogan is very stubborn, but he's dumb."

She actually wanted to comfort him. Leah didn't want Ernest to worry about her so much.

However, Ernest felt that Leah must have encountered something serious, but she was just good at pretending that everything was okay.

He had guessed how difficult things were to deal with and the predicament Leah might be facing. His heart ached.

His eyes narrowed before he leaned down to kiss Leah on the lips. He kissed her so hard that her mind went blank.

The kiss was extremely intense, and it did not give Leah any room to think. She was overwhelmed by Ernest's unique presence.

After that, Ernest pressed his forehead to Leah's and said, "Why didn't you tell me? Although I'm not home, I can replace someone to take care of this. Hogan thinks he can do whatever he wants when I'm not around."

There was deep worry and distress in his voice. It was rough, and his breaths were hot, causing Leah to blush.

He continued, "I'll get someone to help you deal with this. Once Hogan realizes that I can hurt him just as easily when I'm not home, he won't ever harass you again. You want to deal with this yourself, but what if something happens to you?"

He was quite worried because Hogan had always wanted Leah for Himself.

He had no choice but to be concerned.

Hogan was a man that suddenly realised that he loved Leah when he lost her.

Hence, his reluctance to let her go was understandable, but it was a problem when he kept coming after Leah.

Leah's chest tightened when he heard the worry in his tone. She said softly, "I can cope with it. Don't

worry."

"You think that you can deal with everything, but what if something happens? Is it so hard for you to tell me what's going on, Leah?" Ernest's voice rose, and he sounded angry. Leah was shocked.

Ernest let go of Leah, stepped back and gave her a serious look.

His breathing was rapid and erratic. The look in his eyes was very concerning.

Leah blinked in surprise before she laughed out loud. Then, she asked, "Hey, you're scaring me. Why were you so loud just now? Although the butler said we were alone, you don't have to shout. People would think that I'm hurting you."

This was very typical of Leah.

Ernest's serious expression deflated right away.

He looked at Leah helplessly.

However, he managed to calm himself down a bit before he spoke. "Leah, don't think you can distract me with some tasteless sex joke."

Oh no.

Ernest was way too smart for that.

Even a dirty joke couldn't sway his mind.

Hence, she could only look at him with puppy eyes as she remained quiet.

To Ernest, she was incredibly adorable.

He trembled, and his breathing quickened. Another part of him started becoming restless.

He was incredibly tempted upon seeing Leah like this. Hence, Hogan would be even more attracted to Leah as well.

When he thought about how Hogan might harm Leah, Ernest felt very distressed.

Then, he said, "Fine. Since you won't tell me what's going on, nor will you solve it, then I will. I'll settle this."

"No," Leah immediately shook her head. "Hogan isn't really that scary. Don't worry, I swear."

"There's some things you can never be 100% sure about," Ernest gave Leah a very solemn look. "You can't guarantee that he'll give up on you. You have no idea how beautiful you look right now, and he will keep fantasizing about you as long as he never has you. One day, his fantasies will turn into an obsession."

Cindy was obsessed with his father, Heinz.

Of course, this did not cause too much trouble.

However, it would be dangerous once an obsession went too far.

Leah sighed when she spotted Ernest's expression. "Fine, I'll tell you about what happened, okay? Stop being so serious, you're scaring me."

"That's more like it." Ernest calmed himself down and forced a smile at Leah. He said, "Go ahead."

"So, Hogan's come to see me maybe three or four times after you left. He went to my place and knocked on the door, and he kept knocking when I refused to open up. He bothered the neighbors, and they chased him away."

Ernest frowned, and his handsome face was twisted with concern.

He looked very solemn indeed.

Leah continued, "The second time he came, I called Rowane. She got into a fight with Hogan in the corridor, and Hogan left soon after that. Then, I realized that Hogan would leave every time Rowane showed up."

Ernest wanted to say something, but he held himself back.

"So every time Hogan came, I immediately sent a message to Rowane. She would arrive shortly after, and Hogan would leave." Leah looked into Ernest's eyes and said, "I'm really telling the truth here."

"I'm sure he found a way to see you, right?" Ernest had hit the nail on the head. "Hogan is a stubborn man, and he'd definitely replace another way to see you."

Leah's jaw dropped in shock.

"So, I was right, huh?" Ernest asked.

Leah had no choice but to nod her head. "Yeah, you're right. Once Hogan knew that he couldn't get to me by coming to my place, he went to school to see me."

"He went to your school," Ernest replied.

"Yeah." Leah nodded.

Ernest barked out a short laugh, and there was mocking in his voice. "Guess you can't avoid him."

"However, he met me outside of class. My classmates were all there, and I'm a law student. Obviously, I managed to drive him away with a few words. Don't worry, okay?" Leah smiled as she tried to comfort Ernest.

"Do you think everything will be alright if you drive him away?" Of course, Ernest didn't think so.

He became even more worried because quite an amount of time had passed since the incident.

Ernest said worriedly, "It seems that he needs to betaught a lesson."

"Hey, what do you plan on doing?" Leah asked in concern.

Ernest looked into Leah's eyes. His eyes were like a turbulent ocean, filled with a myriad of emotions.

She batted her eyes at Ernest and held his arm before she leaned in close, "Say something. Why are you so quiet? I need to know what you plan to do, right? At least give me a chance to prepare."

Ernest stared into her eyes and said, "There's no need for that. Just pretend nothing happened. This is something I wanted done a long time ago anyway. I can't stand it when someone else tries to take my girl away from me."

"Aren't you supposed to be a gentleman?" Leah exclaimed in surprise.

"Whoever told you that?" Ernest asked.

Leah replied, "Maria did. I always thought you were someone with a lot of restraint. It's scary that you're being so aggressive now."

Ernest took a step back and stared into Leah's eyes. He said seriously, "I can be very possessive, you know that, right? You're mine, and I will protect you forever. What's the point of living if I can't protect you?"
