No matter what Leah said, Pedro knew that he couldn't let her leave.

If he did, Ernest would definitely be furious.

Although Ernest looked very gentle, he had a bad temper. Although it was very rare for him to lose his temper, whenever he did, no one would be able to escape his wrath.

Pedro didn't want to make the situation worse.

"Miss Winston, it's not safe to go out this late at night," He smiled faintly at Leah as he said, "If you want to fly back home, I think you should do it tomorrow. I'll replace you another place to settle down for tonight first, alright? You don't have to stay here."

It would be best to not let Leah leave.

Maybe Ernest was still angry at Leah and refused to speak up. That was why Ernest did not want to risk his pride to stop Leah from leaving.

Most of the quarrels between young couples stemmed from pride, after all.

Quarrelling was common among young couples as well.

Pedro had to help these kids out as much as he could.

Since Pedro insisted for Leah to stay, she had no choice but to agree. She did not have the heart to reject his painstaking efforts.

She nodded, "Alright then, please replace me a place to stay for the night. I'll leave tomorrow morning."

When Pedro heard that, his smile widened. He took the luggage from her and gestured, "Alright, Miss Winston. Let's get you to the house next door."

Then, he led Leah to the villa next door.

The living hall had been remodeled into a gym. There was a guest bedroom upstairs.

When Leah walked through the doors to enter the hall, she suddenly recalled Ernest and Liam's conversation from before. Her heart tightened at the mere thought.

It was true that some painful thoughts just couldn't be brought up.

Leah let out a wry smile. She knew that it wouldn't be easy to free herself from her feelings for Ernest.

She followed Pedro up to the second floor.

Pedro brought her to the guest bedroom and opened the door. The room was fully furnished.

"Miss Winston, I'll bring you some food later. If Master Ernest asks about you, I'll just tell him that you left," He said with an understanding smile.

Leah smiled back, "Thank you. I would really appreciate that."

"You're welcome," Pedro knew that Leah had come all the way to London by herself. He didn't know what happened with Ernest, but he thought that the young master should put his pride aside for once and apologize to Leah. It was the least he could do for a girl who flew thousands of miles just to be with him.

Soon, Pedro left, but he got a few people to watch Leah's door to prevent her from sneaking away in the middle of the night.

After he went back, he sent someone to deliver food and drinks to Leah.

Meanwhile, Ernest was still in the guest room. However, after a few minutes of pacing, he couldn't contain himself and hurried down the stairs.

There was no one in the living hall.

He started to look a little flustered.

His face became paler and paler. He ran to the door and looked out into the yard, but Leah's figure was nowhere in sight.

'It's so late into the night. Did she really leave just like that?' He thought.

Leah was never one to go back on her word. It seemed that she had truly been angry enough to leave him this time.

Ernest felt incredibly depressed. He felt as if his soul had left his body.

He lowered his head and drooped his shoulders. He stood quietly in the yard for a long while, looking much like a statue.

At this moment, Pedro came over and stood respectfully beside him.

Seeing that Ernest looked out of it, Pedro decided to help out, "Master Ernest, Miss Winston told me to get her a ride to the airport just now. She said that something urgent came up, so she'll have to fly straigh home."

Ernest's face darkened even more when he heard the news. His face was drained of all color and he looked especially remorseful.

Pedro could not bear to see him like this. He secretly heaved a long sigh. If the young master had known that this would happen, why would he still let Leah go like that?

Ernest kept his head down. No one knew what he was thinking at that moment since he didn't say a word.

Pedro thought that Ernest would ask him for more details about Leah but he didn't. Pedro let out a rueful smile. It seemed that Miss Winston had left out of helplessness.

Since the young master had chosen to be silent, Pedro decided to just let him be.

Eventually, Pedro cleared his throat, "If you don't have any orders for me, I'll take my leave first."

"Who gave you permission to let her leave?" Ernest finally growled. His tone was unpleasant.

Pedro was stunned for a moment. After that, he felt a quiet thrill go through him. It seemed that he had made the right call beforehand. If he had allowed Miss Winston to leave, Master Ernest would've been angry at him for sure.

It seemed that Master Ernest had come back to his senses.

Pedro turned to look at Ernest solemnly, in no hurry to tell him that Leah was in the guest room next door.

He wanted to see how Ernest was going to react.

Pedro thought that a man should be more gentlemanly. Even if the woman was sometimes being a little unreasonable in the relationship, he thought that the man should always be the bigger person and forgive the woman.

"Miss Winston looked really anxious, and there was no color on her face. I thought that something bad must've happened back at her home, so I got her a car to drive her to the airport as per her request. You can still get to her before she flies off though, it's still not too late."

When Ernest heard that, he narrowed his eyes at Pedro. However, he did not seem to have the intention to pursue Leah at all.

Pedro smiled faintly and continued, "Master Ernest, you didn't tell me that I wasn't allowed to do as Miss Winston requested. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

"She hasn't left yet, has she? Where did you place her?" Ernest suddenly asked in a firm tone.

Pedro was shocked once more. Ernest was really smart. Pedro couldn't believe that the young master had seen through him so quickly.

With that, Pedro could only grin, "Without your explicit permission, I certainly wouldn't have let her leave this place just like that. Master Ernest, you know me well."

"Miss Winston is staying in the guest room next door at the moment. Master Ernest, you'd better go there and do your best to coax her into staying."

Ernest's face softened slightly. Color gradually returned to his handsome and angular face.

Without looking at Pedro, he ordered sharply, "You're dismissed." "Alright. Don't worry too much. I've already sent someone to deliver Miss Winston food and drinks. Other than her feelings, I've made sure to do all I can to ensure that she's staying comfortably," Pedro deliberately brought up Leah's feelings in an attempt to remind Ernest what should be done.

Ernest easily got Pedro's hint. He turned to look at the next door villa and hesitated for a long while. Finally, he decided to walk back into the living room. When he was about to walk over to coax Leah into staying, he suddenly recalled what he had said to her beforehand. He thought that it would be too humiliating for him if he went over to her and asked her to come back to him.

Yet, if he didn't go to Leah, staying in the living room wouldn't change a thing either. With that, Ernest started to pace back and forth anxiously.

On the other hand, Leah did not eat or drink anything in the guest room. She was not in the mood to stomach anything.

She placed the food aside and stared at her luggage and backpack that was piled up on the bed.

She sat on the bed for a short while before deciding to get up. When she stepped out of her room to head over to the living room, she realized that someone was guarding her door.

Leah was shocked to see someone outside. She thought that Pedro was really thoughtful and smart. Maybe he was worried that she'd run away in the middle of the night.

To be honest, that idea did cross her mind. However, seeing that someone was stationed to keep a close eye on her outside her door, Leah felt that it was impossible for her to sneak away even if she wanted to. At the same time, if she didn't leave, it would be a little undignified.

Leah thought about it long and hard and figured that it didn't matter if her dignity was trampled on.

She had never cared much about it anyway. What she cared about was whether Ernest loved her or not.

Suddenly, she came to the realization that she had only known Ernest for a short period of time. As such, the both of them did not have time to truly get to know each other at all. She had always been the one to take the first step and put herself out there for Ernest.

It seemed out that Ernest had been so passive towards her because he didn't love her. Leah suddenly felt that she had been too reckless with her feelings.

The heartbreak she felt at the moment was the result of her reckless actions. It was her punishment.

Just like her impulsive decision to come to London, she had been driven by her emotions. She flew all the way to a different country for Ernest, but she did not think about whether her presence was welcomed or not.

She calmed down and thought about her situation carefully. A while later, she concluded that she had taken too many risks and had acted too impulsively.

Leah smiled bitterly and secretly made up her mind. After that, she walked back upstairs to the guest room.

Soon, it was half past eleven in the middle of the night.

Pedro had been paying close attention to the young couple. He had asked around for updates on the two but was told that Master Ernest did not go look for Miss Winston at all.

Pedro was anxious.

He couldn't help himself from going straight to Ernest and asking, "Master Ernest, are you really not going to look for Miss Winston?"
